Description

 As guardian of the Miraculous, Ladybug felt terrible because she had lost all the miraculous, the very thing she tried to avoid, to Shadowmoth.  Who cared that he went by Monarch at the moment?

  How long would the guilt last?  

How long would it be before she, and Chat got them all back? 

One, by one, as he had said they would.

   Ladybug's  POV:

    Much had happened since she and Chat started to guard Paris, France.  Also, she and Chat had grown fonder of each other over the years.

     Two years later, She and Chat retrieved the bunny, goat, ox, pig, and tiger miraculous from him. 

Yesterday, the dog, snake,  horse, and fox miraculous were taken away from the villain. 

    Today, she found the dragon miraculous discarded in an alleyway with a note attached to it. 

     The note said, "Give me the ladybug earrings, or I  will destroy your kitty."

  She knew this was not true.  The only miraculous left to retrieve was the moth miraculous, and the double rings. The rings rightly belonged back in the United States. The American guardian in New York awaited the day they would sit inside the miraculous box where they belonged.

      Felix had forked over the peacock miraculous within the last few days.  He said he never meant to cause any harm.  He confessed his uncle was the one behind the heinous crimes against Paris, and its citizens.

        The turtle miraculous had been found by Zoe outside her home. She immediately returned it to Ladybug.  As for the bee miraculous, well, Audrey had taken it from the villain and added it to her collection of rare artifacts.  Then, she suddenly had a guilty conscience and gave it to Chat to give to the ladybug for her. He had done so immediately.

          Ladybug was glad the villain had not figured out the rest of the miraculous locations such as the region in the Amazon rainforest where the Amazon guardian lived. It was the place where the panda, the koala, the tucan, the lizard, and the frog miraculous were located.

      Marinette had gotten up slowly this morning due to her lack of sleep. She yawned as Tikki handed her a glass of coffee.

            "Thanks, TIkki." 

          "You are welcome, Marinette."

           "Today is the big day!"

          "Big day, what are you talking about Tikki?"

           "It is the day that you get the rest of the miraculous back in the box where they belong. I can sense it."

           "You can?"

            "Yes, sure I can."

             Marinette drank the coffee, then dawned some orange juice and a piece of toast. She ran outside, hid, and transformed. She spotted Chat in the park.

            "Hi, Chaton!"

            "Hi,Bugaboo!"

            Ladybug smirked. Ever since they had discovered their identities eight months ago, he had gone back to calling her Bugaboo, Buganette, and so on.  

             "So, Chat, what is on the agenda today?"

            "Getting the rest of the miraculous back m'lady."

            Chat took a deep breath. He felt sad that his father was the villain but he knew he could count on his lady Marinette.

                Ladybug sensed he was sad. She hugged him.

                The two set off and found the crook. They took one of the rings from him.

             So far so good.

                Then, Natalie started to yell at them, "Watch out!"

         Natalie got hit with something and passed out.

       "No!" Ladybug yelled.

       "You did not have to do that to her!"  Chat screamed.

        He ran towards his evil father and used his staff to knock the brooch off him.

      He snatched it up before Gabriel could retrieve it. He tossed it to the ladybug who caught it.      

      "Give me ring, or I will use this other miraculous to wipe you out of existence."

        The threat troubled Chat, but he refused to give up that easily.

        He grabbed the ring and slipped it on before his father could use it against him.

     "So long father or traitor is more like it!"

            The police arrived and arrested Gabriel.

         Natalie never mentioned her part in all this. She felt bad enough as it is anyway.

      She showed the police the secret lair and they made sure Emilie was moved out of there to the hospital for observation.

     Then the lair was closed off for good.

          Chat gave the ring to the ladybug.

      She smiled as she returned the rings to the box along with the brooch.
   

       Chat did not disappear despite the ring his amuka was connected to being in the box. He did not understand it, how was this possible?

      Ladybug did not tell him. She did not have the heart to tell him that he had died, and she had used up a special recipe to save him. One which made him real and meant he could never be controlled again.  She did not tell him that she had made it so that once the miraculous was in the box that she would forget him.

    She could not.   It was part of the price she paid for his protection and her love for him.

     She passed out.

    Chat caught her.

     When she came too, she was Marinette again. Not ladybug, just plain old Marinette.  The earrings were safely returned to the box as was the ring that the black cat wore.

     She was in her room, surrounded by her friends. 

    "Welcome Home, Marinette!" They all cheered at once glad she was safe.

      Chat had not told them the truth.  For all they knew, Marinette had left town years ago. It was the cover story he gave because he could not tell them she did not remember them.

         He had figured out once back as Adrien that something was off. He cried.

        "Marinette, I love you."

       "Who are you?"

   Adrien's POV:
    It had broken his heart to hear her say those words.

 The words he dreaded to hear the most.

She did not remember him.

  He had to help her remember. How?

   He leaned in and pulled her close.

    "What are you doing?" 

    "Shh, princess."

   Adrien kissed her much to everyone's delight. All except for Lila who was in prison and Chole who did not dare show up because she was too ashamed at how to mean she had been to come.

      Marinette woke up.  Her memories came back all thanks for her prince.

     "Adrien, I love you!"

    "I love you, too, Marinette!"

  The end...
