Vampire Bite by Summer Cheng (@SummerCheng37)

Description

Luka is furious because his girlfriend decided to face the vampires alone, and he hadn't stopped her.

   Luka's  POV:

   I do not get it.

Sometimes, Marinette can be so stubborn.

It is a full moon tonight, and the vampires will be on a rampage.

"Marinette, you can't face off the vampires when there is no way to reason with them."

"Luka, you do not understand them like I do."

" Marinette, you must be kidding because you can't go alone."

"I am big girl, Luka. Trust me."

"Marinette, I am sorry, but you can't meet with the vampires tonight." I protested.

"Luka, I appreciate your concern, but I am thirty and know what I am doing."

To my horror, she ran off to the woods where the vampires were said to live.

I heard dead silence that only worried me.

An hour went past before I heard the screams.

I threw caution to the wind as I stomped into the woods after her.

I only hoped I was not too late.

"Marinette, are you alright?" I called out.

Nothing but the dead silence of the night responded to my cries.

            "Marinette, it is not funny."

I ran as fast as I could.

I was a fool to have let her get so far ahead of me.

The woods could be dangerous at night, especially on a full moon like tonight.

I saw a small cabin, then another larger cabin, but I entered the second one.

I turned on the light switch and almost passed out from the gory scene.

I saw Marinette on a bed, and she was all dressed in white.

To my amazement, Marinette looked pale, her eyes turned pink, and she had bite marks on her neck.

It looked like a scene from a thriller, but it was real life, and Marinette was a goner.

I felt as if I had failed her somehow.

             "Marinette?" I whispered.

             "Run," she whimpered.

"I can not just leave you here."

           "Run," she muttered again.

I turned to see a man wearing a white suit with a red cape.

"How dare you come into my forest and my house?"

" Can't you see she is my bride?"

I could hear a snarl as he spoke.

"Ha, she is my girlfriend, and you can't have her."

"Girlfriend, well, too bad for you."

           "Leave, she is mine."

                 " You can't have her."

                "I already do."

I stood taller than I  had in years to face him, but he towered over me.

I  reached up and hit him in the chest, but there was not so much as a peep from him.

I heard Marinette whimper, and  I heard her groan.

        "Luka, get out of here."

"Leave my husband alone.   Go find a nice girl vampire to settle with."

I  kicked the vampire man hard in the thigh.

I pulled out a small object and attempted to stab him with it.

Marinette stood in his way, "You can't take him from me."

I felt the entire thing was a cruel prank since Marinette knew how much I worried about her.

            It was a prank.

I turned around and ran out the door.

           This all happened so fast.

I did know that Marinette did not follow me.

What was the matter with her?

I blinked, recalled how bad she looked, and screamed, "Ah, she has been turned into one of those horrible creatures."

One year later, it has been a whole year since I lost my dear Marinette to the vampire prince.

I should have known better than to let her leave like that or to let her get so deep into the woods without me.

I failed to protect the one who meant everything to me, and I had lost her.

Yes, I was nothing but a failure.

I looked up to see a strange figure outside my window.

"Who is there?" I said as I poked my head out the window.

     Big mistake, yep, uh huh.

"Hello, I am glad to see you."

"That blue-haired girl is not worth it, she is not your type."

    "Who is my type then?"

   "I am your type."

I heard her laughter and saw her shiny blonde hair and light blue eyes twinkle in the dark and suddenly glow pink.

  "Awe, do not be shy."

" I promise it will only hurt a little."

I tried to run but found my legs were stuck.

The girl entered and shut the window.

"Hmm, that is better because it is just us now."

" Us? You are moving too fast.  I don't even know your name."

"Oh, how silly of me, the name is Chole, and you are ?"

"L-Luka C-Cuffaine," I shook my head. Why did I stutter?

"Luka sounds poetic. I like it."

I  felt her breath close to mine. I blushed.

I saw her lean over my neck. What was she doing?

There was a flash of yellow, and her outfit changed. How odd.

Before I could say anything, I felt her sink her teeth into my neck. It hurt, but who was I to complain?

I closed my eyes. I was afraid to face the monster in the room. I was a wimp.

"Ah, "I heard myself scream as I felt sharp fangs hit my neck beside the first mark.

I passed out. I do not remember much after this.

I recalled I said something I did not quite understand.

"Honey, you are all mine now. We are man and wife, is not that great?"

I only nodded my head. I watched as the mysterious man left, leaving me alone with her once more.

                    "Chole, what happened?"

                  "Luka, we got married."

" Darling, soon you will be happy."

I could not scream this time when she was smiling at me.

I do not know what came over me, but I kissed her.

I could tell she liked me.

I  was about to become a vampire, but I did not care because I had found my vampire princess.
