Emma's POV:
I ran away from home when I was sixteen.
I found a job and did well by myself.
At least until he came into my life. Then, I made a mistake. A huge one.
I fell in love with him.
I never should have done it.
It is far too painful. He dumped me like I was trash as soon as he found out his ex was back in town.
I sat there unsure how to cope.
I had not seen my parents in two years. Were they alive?
Would they want me back if they knew what I had done?
All these thoughts swarmed in my head as I sat in my car alone.
Alone all because I had been dumped.
I started the car and drove to a nearby cliff ready to end it all.
I heard someone yell my name.
Who was he?
I screamed as I lost control of the car. It was then I realized something I was not ready to die yet.
I heard someone yell my name, "Emma!"
I don't know who he was, but I felt the door being yanked off and before I could brace for impact felt his strong arms surround me.
Who was he? Who was this person who saved my life?
I sobbed.
"Emma, it is okay, you are safe now."
I looked up into his dashing brown eyes.
"N-Nathan?"
"I could not let you go through with it, Emma."
I could tell he was as shocked as I was at that moment.
"What do you mean?"
"I saw your car about to roll off the edge and ran to you. I pulled you out."
"Why Emma?"
In that moment, I held tight to him for dear life.
"Jake dumped me."
"Oh, Emma, I am so glad I was in time. You don't know how much you mean to me."
"What do you mean?"
Nathan held me close and stared into my eyes.
"Emma, you are my best friend and the only girl I will ever love."
I blinked my eyes twice before I closed them.
It must be a dream. There was no way, Nathan had confessed he loved me.
I felt something wet brush against the corner of my lips as he kissed me.
"Emma, I love you."
I wish I could respond the way he wanted. I knew he meant what he said because his kiss was so wonderful, but I couldn't lie.
I didn't return his feelings.
I laid my head on his shoulder and fell asleep.
The next day, I woke up in the hospital. Nathan had brought me in for obvious reasons.
I saw he stood beside the bed looking at me.
I could see tears in his eyes.
"I brought you some flowers," Nathan said as he handed me a bouquet of hot pink roses.
I was surprised he remembered my favorite flowers. Jake never did the entire time we dated.
Then, again, Nathan was no Jake and Jake was no Nathan.
"Thank you, they are lovely."
I felt him hold my hand. I never asked him to.
I did not pull away. I could not love him.
A few days later, I was released from the hospital.
Since Jake kicked me out, I had no place to stay.
Nathan took me to his apartment.
"You can stay in my guest room."
I knew better than to argue with him.
"I bought you a few things."
"Like what?"
Nathan held up two bags. I looked inside and blushed. He had bought me a hairbrush, toothbrush, clothes, makeup, and a book.
"Thanks."
"You are welcome, darling."
I did not bother to correct him. I was far too tired too. I took the things into the guest room. I only knew where it was because before Jake I had stayed the night there once.
I took a shower and changed into some of the clothes he had purchased for me.
"Wow, you look beautiful."
"Thanks, Nathan, but I hardly think that is true."
"It is and I shall spend as much time as it takes to prove it to you."
The end...
Until the next Miraculous one-shot story,
