Adrien's Diary by Summer Cheng (@SummerCheng37)

Description

Adrien Agreste has a diary that he keeps secret. What happens when it gets into the wrong hands?

Adrien's POV:
I have a diary, but no one is to find out.

If word got out I had such a thing, I would be the laughingstock of the entire school.

I  hid it where  I was sure no one would find it.

Why then was I so nervous?

It was such a personal thing. I had even written about my crush.

I had several crushes throughout my lifetime, but none were as big as this one.

I could not let anyone find out about my crush on her. I was worried what it would do to her.

Besides, being the only boy in school without a girlfriend and a crush on the shy girl who barely said a word to me would be embarrassing. At least, I thought she was shy.

    Dear Diary,

Today, I got ready for my first day at school.

Nathalie was not too thrilled about it, but she still let me attend.

It was my first day back since my father passed away. I had no one left.

I think  Nathalie offered to watch me because she felt sorry for me. Well, that and Amelie, my aunt on my mother's side wanted nothing to do with me. I could not blame her since my father turned out to be one of the worst people of all time.

I sighed as I thought about her. By her I mean my latest crush. Would she be at school this year? I sure hoped so. I had to follow her on social media for a few months since I had not seen her for a long time.

Would she remember me?  Would she even care?

Here goes nothing, diary, a start to a fresh new year. How bad can it be?

     -A.A. (Adrien Agreste)

I finished the diary entry, tucked it away in the secret compartment I kept it in, and headed off to school.

I entered the classroom and heard sneaking. It seemed the others didn't seem to notice my presence as none looked up.

   I sat at my desk.

   "Hey, you get lost."

I looked at my seat mate to discover it was Nino. He used to be my best friend, but the sound of his angry voice it sound like I better move.

  "Sorry, no sweat man."

I took the only other empty seat near the back of the room.

I saw her arrive fifteen minutes later. Strangely, I had not noticed before she was late.

I watched out of the corner of my eye as she scanned the room.

"Take a seat near Adrien Agreste, Miss Dupain-Cheng so we can get started."

I gasped at the teacher's words. She could not be serious.

I saw Marinette nod her head as she slowly approached the seat beside me.

I felt sorry for her. I was not sure why. I was not as if I ever got to know her much.

Yet there was something in her eyes that made me feel sorry for her.

  "Hi, Marinette."

   "Hi, A-Adrien."

I smiled as she stuttered. So cute.

what?  I have a crush on someone else.

     I   handed her a pencil.

    "Thanks, A-Adrien."

I turned back around to listen to what the teacher said as I wrote notes for the assignment. I groaned as I thought about how hard it would be. Well, at least I got to catch up with all the hard work I had done online over the summer.

After the bell rang, I went to the next class. There were no empty seats. How embarrassing.

I watched as Marinette came into the room holding two chairs. I blushed as she handed one to me.

     "Thanks, Marinette."

    "You are welcome, A-Adrien."

I took the chair she offered and got it ready. As I sat down I noticed the tear in the corner of her left eye. What had put it there and why did I suddenly feel a need to find out?

I helped her with her chair. She sat and wrote down notes. I did the same but felt my mind was elsewhere with my secret crush and with the girl who sat next to me.

Oh, boy.  I had a serious problem. It seems I had two crushes now.

After school was over for the day, I went to my locker. I saw a sign on it that read, "Get lost loser."

I felt tears form in my eyes.

   Today, was not my day.

    "A-Adrien, you okay?"

"Yes, I am fine, M-Marinette," I said as I brushed a tear away. Great now I got caught crying by a pretty girl.

I  put my books and a few other things into my backpack in silence.

I saw Marinette do the same.

Soon, some jerk came by and knocked them out of her hands.

"Hey, watch where you are going, man!" I yelled at him.

"Mind your own business, Agreste!"  I heard him shout back.

I helped Marinette gather her books.

I overheard some laughter on the school steps. It was then I saw in horror that Nino held my diary.  How had he gotten ahold of it?

    "Hey, give that back, it's..."

"Want it back, then you have to ask the first girl out who walks through those girls."

I nodded my head. I saw Marinette exit the door and chickened out.

"Too bad for you then, I will hold on to it for you for awhile for insurance purposes."

         "A-Adrien, wait!"

I ran so fast, I missed who was calling my name.

I sat in front of the fountain in the park with my hands over my face. This day had gone from bad to worse.

"A-Adrien, there you are. I have been looking all over for you."

     "You have?"

  "Yes."

"Why would you want to be seen with me?  I am just the loser son of the greatest supervillain of all time," I spat out.

"You are not your father. Ignore what everyone else says. Who needs them anyway?"

I  was shocked who was this girl and what had she done with Marinette?

          The bluenette hugged me.

           I returned the hug.

"Thanks, Marinette, it means a lot to me."

More than you will ever know I thought.

Listen up guys, Nino sneered.

It seems the others had followed me to the park.

I listened in horror as the contents of my diary were read aloud including my greatest entry.

"Hey, Nino, that is not yours!" I heard her shout at him.

I saw her try to reach for it, but he slapped her across the cheek.

"If I am such a loser, then why did you just hit a girl?" I retorted.

"Girl, I see no girls here, only a sissy and his little dumb girlfriend."

       "Marinette is not dumb."

     "She is so."

    "Is not!"

 I ran off and hid.

I changed into my alter ego and came back.

"Hey, Marinette is this &$%^# bothering you?"

"Yes, Chat!"

I  reached up and catcyslmed the diary. It wasn't my best plan, but no one is perfect not even a hero.

I  saw the stunned look on Nino's face as he and his followers ran off annoyed.

I  watched as Marinette closed her eyes. I heard my ring beep. Oh, yeah that is right I was turning back.

   I smiled.

 Marinette looked up and grinned.

"A-Adrien,you are Chat Noir!"

"Yes, but you can't tell anyone."

"I promise not to tell."

"I knew I could count on you, M-Marinette."

I took her hand and walked her home.

Perhaps, today was not so bad after all.

Maybe, it was the start of something new.

Yes, maybe.

The end

Until the next Miraculous one-shot story,

bye-bye, little owlets!
