(Adrienette) Stories Told by Scars

HEYYAAA....This one was requested by princess1558!

I don't know I just like the song...

SO...this one is basically another one of your typical beach field trip stories. Hope I'm not too cliché :)

Onto the story!

---------------------------------------------

Alya snickered, watching Marinette drool at the back of Adrien's head. They were currently on the Startrain, on the last senior fieldtrip to a cabin near the ocean. The entire class was buzzing for the arrival at the designation and couldn't wait to explore the rooms and landscape. The class was told there would be two large cabins: one for the boys, and one for the girls. Apparently they weren't mature enough to be trusted to share a single cabin ;)

It was a wonder that Adrien's father allowed him to come with all the akumatizations that had occurred recently, but with the persuasion of Natalie he was easily convinced. Nonetheless, Adrien and Marinette were grateful for the escape. Even though they knew that in the worst circumstances, they would have to transform and find a way to make it back to Paris.

It's going to be perfect, Marinette thought. Lila's gone on her 'rendezvous with prince Ali', and Chloe is somewhat gone, with her being in the first class and everything.

"Girl, I was thinking... this is the perfect timing!" Marinette looked at her friend in confusion, after hours of looking at Adrien's golden locks.

"For what?"

"For you to confess you feelings", Alya quirked an eyebrow.

Marinette's face grew hot. "Oh ho ho, no. I am not doing that, never ever. I couldn't stand being humiliated on our school field trip. With no where to run, to hide."

Alya smiled sweetly, watching the animated girl continue to explain all the possible wrongs that could occur.

"Marinette, I'm just saying. Your not going to have much time after the trip. With graduation and everything, what have you got to loose?"

"My pride."

Alya gave a deadpanned look. "Oh girl."

"Plus," Marinette quirked. "He's just a friend."

Alya growled, pointing out the clear fact that she had just been staring at the back of his head for hours on hand.

"Oh, that was strictly for research purposes", Marinette blushed.

Just as Alya was about to further chasten the bluenette, the class erupted into a fit of "oohs" and "awes" as the bus came into view of the ocean. Both turned their heads towards the main attraction, dismissing their previous discussion.

"It's so pretty", they heard Rose say.

"I better go put on my swim trunks", Kim stated as he sprang out of his seat to the restroom.

"Ooh, I can't wait to see the cabin!" Sabrina exclaimed, Chloe quickly retorting with an explanation that her daddy booked her to stay at a luxurious hotel so she wouldn't have to sleep with bugs and get food poisoning.

Marinette rolled her eyes, but least to say that everyone was happy that Chloe wouldn't be with them.

It wasn't much farther to the cabins and everyone unloaded their things when they arrived. Kim showing off by seeing how many suitcases he could carry in one trip, not to mention he was now in his trunks.

Marinette rolled her luggage behind her as she looked off at the beach just barely behind the cabins. It seemed like there were other schools out there too, because of the abundance of buses that had arrived a little bit away. Alya followed behind, filming the ocean for her Ladyblog.

"Marinette, say hi to the peeps! Isn't the weather just perfect here?!"

Marinette smiled, looking back into the camera. "Sure is!"

Sabrina caught the door for the girls, pointing out their room location as she walked back out to grab some more items from the bus. Mrs. Bustier was inside the kitchen, explaining some rules to the girls before going to the boys cabin to check with them as well. The group laughed as Alix made a rather questionable comment when Mrs. Bustier left.

The rooms were in pairs of two, Marinette and Alya sharing one. Juleka and Rose, and Alix and Mylene. Sabrina would be with Chloe, in case she needed anything of course.

And Lila...well, she was obviously on a trip with Price Ali in the Bahamas.

Once everyone was all set up in their spots, they rushed to put on their swim suits and cover-ups, grabbing stuff for a picnic on the beach. Marinette and Alya were fumbling around in the bathroom, trying to find something to wear, since Marinette pulled a 'Marinette' and didn't bring a swimsuit. Obviously.

"Girl, I found something!" Alya screamed excitedly, showing Marinette a Ladybug and Chat Noir themed bikini. Marinette frowned, giving Alya a deadpanned expression.

Did she really think she was gonna get her to wear that?!

"Alya, what the freak is that?"

"It's cute, look. It's white with black little cat shaped thingies on the top and red bottoms with ties on the sides, how much cuter can you get? Wear this!"

"Don't you have something else?"

"Nope."

"Seriously? Your not juking me are you?"

"Nope", Alya tried not to smile, tightening her lips into a straight line.

"Fine. But were going shopping later so I don't have to EVER wear this again."

"YAY!"

"And I'm wearing a cover up!"

"Even in the water?"

"Only if it makes you mad."

Alya groaned, telling her to hurry up as she ran downstairs already dressed, grabbing sandwiches and juice boxes.

Marinette skipped downstairs, grabbing some water as well and a cookie for Tikki. She shut the door behind them, seeing as they were the last ones to leave to the beach. Alya forgot to grab umbrellas and ran back inside, leaving Marinette to wait for her by the front door.

She leaned on the side of the building, hearing someone walk by the cabin. Seeing it was Adrien, she was about to probably fumble over her words while attempting to say a quick hello, but she was unable to speak. Her eyebrows furrowed together as she looked at his distending back walking down to the beach.

Was that a scar?

Alya rushed out, shutting the door a bit too harshly and smiling while handing Marinette one of the umbrellas.

"Were good to go!"

They set up next to the rest of the girls, Alya complaining about where all the boys were.

"I saw Adrien a while ago, but I didn't see where he went."

"He's probably with Nino, hold up, I'll give them a call."

Marinette sat down on her towel, enjoying the slight breeze as she listened to the phone call from a distance.

"I'm just helping Adrien, he's got a bit of a back problem..."

"What now?"

"Oh sorry, I'm not really suppose to say anything about it. He was kinda embarrassed that even I saw it."

"Well just hurry up! I bought this swimsuit jut for you ;)", Alya snickered, covering her mouth. She could hear Nino gulp from the across the line.

She hung up, sitting down with Marinette and rubbing some tanning oil on her legs.

"What's the point of that if your just gonna sit under the umbrella the whole time?"

"Marinette, it's for the aesthetic. Anyways, have you thought about what I was saying earlier...ya know, about confessing."

Marinette groaned, visibly slouching. "Alya, no. There's no way I can do it, we both know something's bound to go completely wrong."

"Don't be ridiculous, he obviously is madly in love with you but he's shy, and blind. He's waiting for you to make the first move. And even if things don't go exactly according to plan, Mama Alya's here to heal your scars!"

That made Marinette think about what she had seen earlier. She hadn't really gotten a good look to be sure, but she was pretty sure there was a huge scar on Adrien's back. Not to mention it looked remarkably similar to one Chat accumulated in a particularly nasty battle. She remembered it like yesterday, the way Chat pointed to his back, showing off his scar like he was in some sort of body building competition. Though, she couldn't be completely sure until she got a better look.

Marinette and Alya continued their antics until the boys caught up to the group, setting down their things next to boys and then making their way over to them. Marinette made a mental note of Adrien's cover up, which he wore for the entirety of the beach day, barely even getting into the water when the rest of the group went in to play volleyball in the ocean.

The day went by fast and all teens were excited to get into the cabins and wash the salt out of their hair. Even Adrien, but no one was quite sure why since he didn't really get that wet. Marinette rushed into the bathroom, being the first to strip and hop in the shower eagerly. She hated the pasty feeling of post-beach skin, and made sure to load up the body wash. She hurried up when she heard the knocking of Alya, and hopped out, wrapping a towel around her and opening up the door to let her in.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so cold! Why are you so fast Mari!?"

The bluenette gigged, closing the door behind her to go change in their room. Alya came out soon after, wrapped in a towel. The girls switched again and Marinette went to go brush her teeth, coming to the realization that she had forgotten to pack toothpaste.

"Hey Als, you got toothpaste?" This made Alya smirk with a brilliant idea, a terribly unrealistic idea. This would literally never happen in real life but what the heck.

"Oh shoot!" She pretended, "I forgot mine two. Hey, you should go to the boy's cabin and see if Adrien has some!"

"But what about the other girls", Marinette asked through the door.

"Oh, wait just one sec!" Alya opened the door running to the living room where the girls were. "Hey guys, Marinette needs toothpaste, but act like you guys don't have any so she'll go over and ask Adrien! Cool?"

Alix snickered, "I'll go hide them!"

The rest of the girls laughed, playing their show when the bruenette left. Alya rushed back into the room, opening up the bathroom door. "The girls forgot theirs too, so we all need you to go get some from the boys!"

Marinette quirked an eyebrow, not being fooled by her best friend's tactics. "Your messing with me, aren't you. There's no way everyone forgot theirs, that's something only I would do."

"I guess we all pulled a 'Marinette' today, huh?"

Marinette huffed, wringing out whatever water she could manage to get out of her hair. "Fine, I'll ask the boys, just give me a sec to grab my shoes."

"Yep, sure!"

Alya pulled out her phone, speed dialing her boyfriend's number, him immediately answering.

"What's up Als?"

"I've got Marinette coming over in a sec to grab some toothpaste because 'all the girls suddenly lost theirs', so make sure you hide EVERYONES toothpaste except for Adrien's! This is the perfect plan Nino, I'm counting on you!" She hung up, sliding on a sweater and some pajama pants.

Marinette walked out of the bathroom after hanging up her wet swimsuit. It's a wonder that Alya got that phone call done in 2.3 seconds. Marinette was hoping that she wouldn't have to wear that thing again tomorrow when she pulled her slippers out from under the bed and made her way to the front door.

Marinette shivered on her small trek across the sandy path, she should have grabbed a light coat, seeing as she was just in a tank top and sweats. She made it to the boy's cabin, knocking for entrance and immediately the door swung open, revealing a toothy grinned Kim.

"Hey Kim, do you guys have any toothpaste, all the girls left theirs at home."

"You know, I'm not really sure. Why don't you go ask Adrien, I'm sure he has some. His teeth are always so crisp looking, I bet he doesn't go anywhere without it", Kim stepped out of the way, letting the small girl inside.

"T-thanks, uh, do you know where he is?"

"Should be right down that hall, just walk right in, I think he's watching something with Nino."

Marinette blushed, slowly making her way down the hall. Why did it suddenly feel like she wasn't suppose to be here?

Marinette knocked lightly on the door, wanting to take necessary precautions, but she didn't hear any response. She remembered what Kim said and decided it must have been due to the loud noise of the movie. She squeaked the door open, checking before opening it up completely, taking a step inside.

"Hello? Adrien, I was ju-", and that's when she saw it.

A shirtless Adrien.

With a huge scar on his back.

A face of pure shock.

She squealed, jumping back and fumbling over her feet to make her great escape. But right as she was doing so, a strong hand grasped her bicep, somehow turning her around and grabbing her other arm as well.

"Marinette, are you okay?"

Don't look down. Don't look down-OH MY GOSH I LOOKED DOWN!

"IMSOSORRYALLIWANEDWASSOMETOOTHPASTE!!!"

"Marinette, you didn't see my back did you?"

"Uh, t-there might have been a possibility", her voice grew higher with each passing word.

Adrien let go, sighing with a hint of guilt. "Marinette promise me you wont tell anyone, please. I really don't want people finding out about this."

"I premise-pimase-promise! I PROMISE!"

They stood there for a couple seconds, Marinette's face redder than humanly possible.

"Uh, do you have any toothpaste?"

"O-Oh, yeah. Hold on-" He turned around to walk to the restroom, Marinette once again getting a good look at his wound.

Then it hit her.

It was probably the most absurd thought to ever even enter into her brain. It was completely impossible and insane. A one out of a million chance.

But it made sense.

Adrien was Chat Noir.

That scar on his back was Chat Noir's.

She panicked, gluing her lips together so she wouldn't say anything too rash. Her brain was freaking out. So many emotions flipping and running and crashing all throughout her mind. There were no more braincells.

He appeared again, Marinette absentmindedly holding out her arm stiffly to receive the object.

But she couldn't move. She couldn't grab it.

The signals were not happening.

Nothing was working how it was suppose to.

Her rational side told her to scream and run away. Bang her head against a wall until all information was wiped away, and then cry about it in her bed.

Oh, but no.

You forget that the rational side was out of commission.

Impulsive Marinette was the dictator of her behavior and emotions, and was currently reeking havoc in her brain.

It said one thing only.

Screw it.

She took the toothpaste, throwing it on the floor beside them. Turning to glare at Adrien's face with a look of pure anger.

But that's not the best part.

She jumped on him. Planting her lips on his in the most aggressive manner possible, Adrien screamed slightly into her mouth. I know...gross. It was funny really, because he was struggling. Struggling to pull her off of him, ya know...because he was 'in love' with Ladybug. She was tightened around him like an anaconda, moving her mouth on top of his, her eyes tightened shut.

He was finally able to wedge a slight space between them, holding her out by her armpits as her legs were still wrapped around his hips. She looked at him with wide eyes, the only thought in her head being:

I didn't brush my teeth.

He huffed, trying to breathe properly from the lack of oxygen. He couldn't believe what just happened.

The cute, shy, flustery baker's daughter just attacked him and forced a make-out session on his face.

What the freak

"M-Marinette! I-I, uh w-what-" He gave up, dropping his head towards the floor, a second later rebounding back up with a serious look on his features. "Marinette, what has gotten into you?"

It was at these words that her rational side grabbed back the steering wheel to Marinette's actions, punching the impulsive side in the jaw.

What did I just do?

She screamed, jumping out of Adrien's grasp and tumbling on the floor. Adrien jolted at the sudden high pitched sound, his jaw dropping from shock. He was sure everyone had just heard that.

Marinette sat on her butt, leaning on her elbows as she stared at the standing Adrien.

They didn't move for minutes.

Marinette figured the least she could do was break the silence by saying something that would definitely be stupid.

"I'm sorry", she whispered.

Oh yeah, very stupid indeed.

Adrien's shoulders relaxed, letting out a heavy breath of air. But he didn't know what to say.

What do you say when your best friend almost suffocated you by forcibly kissing you, and not to mention while your shirtless?

"T-thanks?"

Oh, just great Agreste...

He mentally facepalmed himself, trying to get a grip on his emotions to evaluate what the freak just happened.

"Um, Marinette-" He pinched the bridge of his nose, closing his eyes as he prepared for yet another question. "Could you please explain the thinking behind what just happened? I-I just can't bring myself to understand, uh...I am just really confused..."

Marinette continued to stare at him from the ground, her skin pale and shock from her behavior written on her face. She whimpered, "I-I wasn't thinking."

"Well that doesn't really help." He frowned, letting a couple seconds pass before continuing. "I think we may need to talk about...that."

Marinette winced, realizing all she had just destroyed. All she had just obliterated

She had just broken the carefully crafted relationship that took years, years, to form. She had just embarrassed herself beyond belief, and he wanted her to talk about it? Oh ho ho ho ho, no.

This would be interesting.

She slowly got up, following Adrien to sit at the edge of the bed. Side by side. Awkwardly distanced.

She swallowed hard, her breath staggering as she spoke. "I-I don't know what to say..."

"Well, could you please just say something?"

She thought about it. About telling him everything. About her feelings. About her identity.

She had nothing to loose.

Not even her pride.

Because it was already destroyed.

She had already done something so irreparably stupid and detrimental to her relationship with Adrien. She had already kissed him, laying her feelings on top of him for him to judge. She had already figured out his identity. And she would never be able to explain her reasoning if she didn't say it all.

Screw it.

"Adrien, I don't know exactly what I was thinking...but I know what I was feeling. How am I suppose to contain my emotions after just figuring out that the love of my life is my partner in crime? Well, we can see that there is no right way. There is only the 'Marinette way', which was clearly demonstrated by me forcibly kissing you. My brain was not working in the slightest, or else I would have ran away, bury my emotions and discoveries way deep down where they would never be remembered. But unfortunately, that's not what happened."

Adrien stared at her with wide eyes. "P-partner in crime?"

She turned to face him. "I'm Ladybug you Ding-Dong."

His face grew more shocked, if it was even possible, him letting out exasperated breaths as he dealt with his inner turmoil.

Marinette was Ladybug.

Marinette had just kissed him.

Ladybug had just kissed him.

And all he did was stand there and push her off.

Crap.

He closed his mouth, his cheeks turning pink. He couldn't tear his gaze from hers.

"Y-you l-love me?"

She sighed.

Did she have to spell out everything for this boy?

"Yes. I am in love with you, I have been since the day we met...o-or technically the second day."

"I-I'm in love with you."

"No kiddin."

"I've been calling the love of my life 'just a friend' for three years?"

"You must be feelin pretty stupid, yeah?"

"Incredibly", he continued. "I-I still don't understand how you figured out my identity, what gave it away?"

She smiled, "The scar on your back Kitty, do you think I would forget something as nasty as that?"

He chuckled, "I don't blame you, I'm pretty memorable."

"Oh, stop your yappin."

Oh, this made her heart swell. The playful bantering. The returned affections, that still really weren't registering in her mind. It was all so unreal. So crazy. And she couldn't deal with it anymore.

Her face grew hot, Marinette covering herself with her hands. "I have to go, bye." She shot up, dashing out of the room and fumbling her away across the dirt road to the girls cabin.

She leaned against the entrance door, huffing loudly, eyes wide at realization of everything that had just happened. Alix noticed her return, placing a hand on her hip and smirking.

"You get the toothpaste? Woah, what happened to you?"

"I don't know."
