The delicate rays of the warm morning sun illuminated the forest's beauty. The deep shades of green gave Adrien a sense of familiarity.
He instinctively shielded his eyes from the bright glint that shone down upon his being.
With his eyes shut and his heart still pounding in his chest, he allowed the nature to consume him. His senses were overwhelmed, but he repressed the irritation. He needed to focus!
His mind began to race as he suddenly remembered how quickly he had become a victim to fear.
Fortunately, he was stronger then ever before. Any day now, all of his training would be put to the ultimate test. He just hoped that his sleepless nights would be all worth it in the end.
Taking in a few deep breath as time ceased to exit, his eyes immediately shot open. Anxiously searched his surroundings for assistance, he positioned his weapon correctly, shielding himself from the untainted wrath of his enemy.
He felt the earth shake beneath his soles as his pupils became fixated on the target ahead. Without a second to spare, he tightened his grip around the metallic rod and ran. As he dashed through the thick grass, he smiled as a cool breeze blew over his masculine body. He was free, and that was all that mattered.
The male used his weapon to propel himself into the air. Within the time span of three seconds, he had overcome everything. As he was released from the relentless chains of gravity, he used his rod to wack his artificial 'opponent' until he was down.
Once his feet had touched solid ground, the blond stood tall. He felt victorious as his dreams had instantly morphed into reality.
He was finally ready..!

When noon eventually arrived, Adrien's training session had come to an end. He breathed in the fresh scent of daisies that covered the land, while walking over to the nearby river, in hopes to have a drink of fresh water.
The tranquility that lingered in the air was rather soothing, which made the once terrified vigilante feel peaceful.
He had accepted his differences, yet he still felt like an outcast. From the very beginning, people wouldn't even try to give him a chance. It hurt, knowing that he would never be accepted into society.
Adrien sighed as his mind began to relentlessly torment him. There was nothing he could do to separate himself from the darkness that consumed every inch of his fragmented soul.
But despite his very unfortunate predicament, he remained unbelievably strong. He had learned to hold his own hand, and that in itself made him victorious!
He quickly brushed those intrusive thoughts away as he continued to make his way towards his destination.
Out of nowhere, an unknown rumble began to shake his bones. He felt frozen to the core as the noise rapidly began to intensity.
Without thinking, he pulled himself to the ground, until his body could no longer be seen. He lay low; hidden between countless layers of thick grass as he contemplated his next move.
With his body still hidden away, he parted the dead grass, before cautiously observing his unknown environment. He couldn't see anything unusual, yet he could definitely hear something...
Seconds passed yet still nothing... His curiosity was becoming deadly, as his patience had run thin.
Just before he was ready to leave his current hiding spot, something unrecognizable fell on top of him. His eyes widened in shock, and his body suddenly tensed up.
Without even thinking, the blond got up and pinned the stranger to the ground.
His jaw tightened as the adrenaline began to serge throughout his veins. He was looking at the individual, but he couldn't see his face.
A layer of thick dirt concealed his features from the external world, making it almost impossible to identify him.
Adrien could feel his heart rate increase as he felt the person relax underneath him. He couldn't trust this person... For all he knew, this man might try to kill him; it was just too risky!
But the fear in the unnamed individual caused the vigilante to hesitate.
'What was he running from and why was he wearing a mask?'
His questions were left unanswered. The second Adrien's grip unknowingly weakened, he was left vulnerable. At that instant the roles were reversed.
His brain couldn't even register anything, as he felt himself struggle against such intensity.
His eyes trembled in fear when they met a pair of very exotic sky blue ones. Despite the stranger's small size, he was incredibly strong.
Adrien was having a hard time comprehending everything. Had they found him? He felt weak as reality began to tourment his fragile mind.
He couldn't risk it! Instantly, he aggressively pushed the stranger away, and harshly kicked him in the gut.
An agonizing groan shook the heavens as she lay upon the unforgiving surface. Adrien's eyes instantly widened when realization painfully struck him.
"You're female!?"
He could hardly even believe it. The girl fought better than most men he knew. But looking at her now, he could definitely see that she was no man.
She said nothing as she just stared at him. Her lips formed an expressionless line as her eyes blazed with unquenched hatred and disgust.
Within an instant, she propelled herself to her feet and violently slapped Adrien's exposed cheek, before punching his jawbone.
"How dare you assault me, you Bastard!?" She spat.
Adrien immediately took a step back while covering his burning flesh. He felt a little ashamed. He was ignorant, but to his defense, she could have killed him; he was only acting on instinct.
With his hand still resting upon his sore face, he looked at her with a very sympathetic expression,"Look, I'm sorry okay. I thought you were one of Papillion's Hunchmen."
When the girl looked away, her face instantly fell, "I'm sorry... I was actually running away from one when I bumped into you. I actually thought you were him. Wait... Are you him?" She gave him a questioning look.
The blond immediately shook his head with tremendous force, "Definitely not!"
She gave him a slight nod, then looked forward.
"But how do I know that I can trust you?" she raised an eyebrow and followed her arms in anticipation.
Adrien was a little surprised. He hid his red face as he glanced down upon his concealed hands.
"Because..." He hesitated. "I'm Chat Noir."
She instantly turned to face him. She gently placed a hand upon his face and stared deep into his mysterious, emerald green eyes.
The very touch sent shivers of electricity running down his spine. He could feel the heat rise to his cheeks as her glance continued to intensify.
He was drowning in an ocean of unknown depths of mystery.
Her fingers trailed along his scarred face and she gave him a small smile, "I can't believe this. All this time-"
He subconsciously reached for her hand, and took it away.
"Yes, I'm him."
His smile faded as vivid memories of his defeat had come back to haunt him with no remorse.
She could sense his emotional turmoil... Giving him a small smile, she asked, "You okay?"
"Huh? Yes, I'm okay. It's just-"
"The past still haunts you till this day?" She knowingly questioned.
He didn't say anything. He hated himself for what happened. It was all his fault that she died, but he wasn't fast enough to save her.
Adrien glanced over at the bluenette and instantly froze when her eyes appeared to roll back into her skull.
"Miss!? Are you alright?" his voice was laced with distress, not knowing what was happening.
She looked dazed, and her eyes resembled defeat. What was happening!? Her behavior was abnormal, and he couldn't help but imagine the worst possible scenarios.
"I..." She mumbled.
Her words were instantly lost as she fell to the ground. She fainted and that, terrified Adrien. He didn't know what to do. He placed his fingers on his temples as he felt a wave of distress consume him.
What was he going to do now?
He reached down and placed a hand over her forehead. She was burning up. He was still skeptical and didn't know if it was a trap or not. His heart was concerned but his mind was screaming at him to get a grip.
As his eyes fell upon her arm, his heart began to race. There was a trail of blood running down her bicep. She had been shot!
Without thinking, he picked her up in his arms and headed back home. He needed to hurry, as time was against him!

Adrien anxiously paced around the room, hoping for a miracle. It had been hours, and still the unnamed stranger remained unconscious...
He looked at her pale face in hopes that she would awaken from her unnatural slumber. He frowned as he remembered the dangerous life he had left behind.
He wasn't able to save anyone, and that tormented him to the core. His past failures had once again returned; only this time, it was more ruthless than ever before.
The girl with the beautiful dark locks reminded him of the moon. She was delicate like a flower, but there was still a part of her which remained undiscovered.
He reached down to lay a hand upon her forehead. When his palm came into contact with her porcelain skin, his heart seemed to instantly skip a beat.
He was left puzzled by the shockwaves of indescribable emotion. It was unlike anything he had ever felt before.
With his hand still resting upon her forehead, he sighed. He longed to see those big, bright orbs of liquid moondust sparkle in the sunlight.
He gave her one final glance before leaving her side. She needed rest, and he was more than willing to give her just that. With his back turned away from her, it only took a second for him to fall to his knees.
He gripped his head in agony as he tried to comprehend the reason for his sudden weakness. As he hesitantly turned his head around, everything suddenly made perfect sense.
The girl was awake, and she was ready to fight!
When her fierce icy-blue eyes met his frightened green ones, she seemed to relax ever so slightly. She lowered her fists as her malicious glance soften.
She looked to the unarmed man who lay spread out on the hard, cold floor. She stretched out a hand for him to grab.
He didn't hesitate, and immediately accepted her kind gesture of mutuality. He gave her an unsure smile, which she happily accepted.
"I... Uh... Am sorry... For... Uhm... That..." She awkwardly said while rubbing her neck, hoping for the unwanted embarrassment that she felt to instantly be forgotten.
Adrien remained silent for a moment before responding to her apology.
"No worries. You were a little disoriented, so it's totally understandable," he gave her a small smile.
The girl seemed mesmerized by his spell. She just stared at him, as if he wasn't even there.
The blond vigilante felt a wave of awkwardness consume him. She was still a stranger, and he couldn't quite find the right words to say. He anxiously rubbed the back of his head as he waited for a response.
"I... Uhm... Thank you... For your hospitality," she said while rubbing her wounded shoulder.
Immediately she let out an incomprehensible wimper. A crease formed between her brows as the pain began to resonate from her hideous wound.
Chat Noir quickly moved closer and looked into her unknown eyes with concern. Without saying anything, he gently touched her deformed arm. He examined her injury thoroughly, and when he was satisfied with what he saw, he sighed in relief.
"It hurts, but it's healing."
"Huh?" She gave him a questioning glance.
"Your wound," he said while pointing to her swollen shoulder. "I was able to patch it up for you. I don't know if you remember-"
At that very instant, all recollection of the previous turn of events came flooding into her mind. Her face changed from one of confusion to one of distress.
"Yes! I remember... There's no time. I have to leave!" She frantically declared.
"Wait! You can't leave... You're still wounded!"
"I'm sorry, but there's just no time to explain..." She sadly stated.
He looked at her with sad eyes as he tried to change her mind.
"Okay, fine. You can go, but please at least tell me your name?"
She looked to the ground in silence, contemplating whether it was a good idea or not.
"Fine! My name is La... Ladybug."
Ladybug...
"Well, Ladybug. It's a pleasure to meet you," he said while giving her a cocky grin.
"Seriously Cat... This is not the time!" She rolled her eyes in annoyance.
He playfully chuckled, "I know, I know. I'm sorry!"
Even after his apology, she still seemed unimpressed. Her lips formed a straight line as she turned her back towards him.
"I'm leaving now," she coldly stated.
"Look," he suddenly grabbed her wrist, "I'm really sorry. I was only trying to lighten up the mood. Besides, it's already dark, and it's not safe for a young woman to be trailing the wilderness by herself."
She seemed to understand. Her face softened as she looked at his charming smile.
"I hate to burst your bubble, Prince Charming, but I can protect myself!"
He knew that she was fairly capable of protecting herself, but he knew that Papillon's hunchmen were ruthless. And if she accidentally ran into one, it would be game over...
"I do know that, but I'm just worried. So, please stay? I'll even go with you tomorrow at dawn."
She seemed conflicted as she began to way up her options. Maybe he had a valid point. Besides, she could do with some company.
"Okay. You've got a deal, but I must worn you... The journey ahead is a tough one."
Chat Noir couldn't help but smile as he claimed his victory; internally squealing with happiness.
"I understand. And if you are going in the direction of The Akuma Territory, that works out perfectly!"
"Wait..." She shook her head in disbelief. "Are you seriously thinking about going back there? Last time you went there, you almost died!"
He sighed as he remembered that day as if it were just yesterday.
"Yeah, I might be crazy, but there are people there who need me! I was too weak... And because of me, they're still trapped there!" His voice raised as his anger began to take an unnatural hold on him. He hated himself for what happened, but he was determined to change the past. No matter the cost!
She just stared at him with a blank face.
"I had no idea... It's just... People like you, people like us... We will die if they find us..." She felt a wave of sadness and guilt grip her soul with so much force; she began to feel physically weak.
"I know that too... But some things are worth the risk. I'm just asking that you will be willing enough to give me a chance... Please?" His sincerity was undeniably true. He needed her to trust him, even if they had just met.
She looked into his deep emerald eyes and gave him a sincere smile. She knew she could trust him, and because of what he did for her, she would repay him.
"Fine. I'll give you a chance, but just know that things are worse that ever before."
He could feel the stress and anxiety begin to flow through his veins as he began to listen to her every word.
"He's completely lost it! After you left, no one was able to leave. His army went into the homes of innocent people and captured anyone who exhibited the Miraculous curse," she looked to the ground and sighed. "So far, I was the only one able to es... escape..."
He turned his face towards her, "Do you know why he's doing all of this?" He curiosly asked.
She shook her head in disappointment, "No. Not really, but I know it has something to do with a certain type of person. He said that you were the closest he had ever come to achieving the ultimate power, but he was unable to succeed since."
The blond's questions were left without answers as he just stared into the far distance.
He interrupted her train of thought, "Do you know why it was me of all people?"
"I'm guessing it has something to do with your ability... For everyone who exhibits the Miraculous curse, their abilities are unique to them. No two are alike, and some are more powerful than others. So I'm guessing..."
"My powers are stronger than the others..."
"Precisely."
A comfortable silence filled the space between them as they both stared ahead. Their minds were racing, but their hearts were fierce.
Determination began to flow from deep within the young man's center. He was afraid, but he knew that he needed to be strong now. If he didn't do this now, everyone he ever loved would soon be gone forever.
