broken arm
Marinette walked slowly to first period. She was tired, hungry, and her shoulder to her fingers hurt like hell. She broke her arm yesterday after she fell while running down the stairs. Her backpack was over shoulder as she knocked on the door, needing assistance opening it.
The teacher, Madame Bustier, opened the door and was surprised to see Marinette standing there, with a cast over her arm. "Is this why you were absent yesterday?" Marinette nodded with her head down. "And that's why I'm late."
"Your parents notified me that you had an accident, thank goodness it wasn't anything more serious than this, but if it helps, we're having a free day. You can talk with your peers around you and get on your electronic device."
On the other side of the room, Adrien Agreste was staring wide eyes at his princess. What Happened? Did someone harass her?! Did she get hurt by an Akuma and ladybugs power didn't fix her arm?!
When Marinette made her way up the steps, Adrien turned to her. "Are you okay Mari?" She looked at him with a bright blush, but learned to keep her stutter in check. "Aw this? I've gotten out of worse scrapes then this. Can't think of any right now, but-"
she trailed off as she realized he caught the reference, by the look on his face. "I didn't take you as a Disney nerd princess." He beemed at the bluenette as her blush deepened. "Haha yeah, I guess you could say I'm a fan girl."
Adrien laughed with her as he then realized something he wanted to do. "Before I forget, can I sign your cast?" With that, Marinette's eyes doubled in size. "I'd love you- for you to!!!" She stammered out then cursed to herself for her stutter and slip of the tongue.
Adrien pulled a green marker out of his bag and signed his name right below her thumb and wrote "Cat well soon" and a cat face. Marinette looked at the pun and smirked. "Really? That's terrible!"
As if on cue the bell rang for second period passing. Adrien stood up and took Marinette's bookbag and slung it over his shoulder. "Let me walk with you to second period. We have identical schedules anyway." She smiled brightly, falling into stride with the blonde.
"I really appreciate you walking with me. Thank you so much!" She beemed at him, and Adrien felt his heart soar. Wow, she looks really cute from up close. He thought to himself, but then blushed at the same thought. 'I think she's cute?!'
The next period flew by fast, Adrien helping Marinette in physics, blushing every time their eyes met, or when they answered a question in unison to the teacher. Marinette blushed too, but he figures it's because she's embarrassed by it.
Time skip
At the end of the day, Adrien walked Marinette home. She tried to convince him that he didn't have to, but all he could reply with was: "it's no trouble at all Mari" or "I love helping my best friends out, especially if they're hurt."
She just blushed and stayed silent the majority of the time, only answering his questions with simple answers. "Can I ask an important question though?" She looked up at him, afraid of what that question was.
"How did you break your arm?" She blushed, now totally embarrassed. "It's embarrassing, but, I fell while running down the stairs at home; and it was all because, yet again I was late for school."
She said this with her head down in embarrassment. "It's nothing to be embarrassed by Mari. Whats most important is that your not seriously hurt." He took her gently by the hand that was wrapped in the cast and kissed it, not breaking eye contact with her.
She blushed an even brighter shade of red and held her breath. Was this really happening?! Was Adrien really showing this kind of affection towards her?!
With a shakey breath, Marinette used one swift movement to hug him with her one good arm. Adriens eyes widened a fraction before hugging her back with a warm smile.
"Would you like to have a snack with me when we get to your families bakery?" He asked, slightly muffled sinces his face was pressed into the bluenette's hair. She giggled and looked up at him. "How does on the house sound?"
His eyes widen and a light laugh erupts from Marinette. "Uh-... I-you don't- have to...I have plenty of money-!"
To quiet his stuttering she musters all her Ladybug courage and leans towards him, kissing his cherry red cheek.
She backs away and her face flushes a cherry red before she takes his hand and pulls him along the sidewalk to her home. Silence falls shortly after their hands release. It wasn't an uncomfortable silence, more of a silence that let both of them jump for joy on the inside.
When they finally reached the house, Adrien held the door open for Marinette; who thanked him with a bright smile. She sat in a booth in the front so she could reintroduce Adrien to her mommy and order from their seats. Adrien smiled as Sabine came up to him eagerly to embrace him. "I remember you honey! How have you been?" His eyes widen but he returns the hug with a warm smile. "I've been doing okay Madame Cheng, thank you."
She releases the hug with a slightly sturn slightly eager look on her face. "Your awfully skinny child, you should come around more offten, we'll put some meat on your bones." She ruffles his hair affectionately and walks to the back behind closed doors.
Adrien straightened his hair with a fond smile. "I can tell who you get your beauty from, and your caring nature." When he looked back at Marinette she was staring at him intently, as if memorizing every detail of his face, like this was the last time they would ever see each other again.
Adrien leaned on his elbows and got closer to her, looking right into her eyes, trying to see what she would do. Suddenly a deep crimson covers her face and he questioned weather or not she was breathing untill she sat back abruptly with a gasp.
"I'm sorry did you say something cha- I MEAN-!...I mean... did you say something Adrien?" She sighed, took a deep breath, and rubbed her forehead, trying to calm herself down. Adrien staired at her before chuckling.
"Who do you get your shyness from?" He asked, resting his head in his hands showing true interest. She smiled in a 'this is so embarrassing' kind of way. "Believe it or not, but I get it from my dad. He was really shy when it came to momma. He would stutter and hide and trip over his own two feet. I guess you could say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree." She laughs nervously and rubs the back of her head.
Adrien raised an eyebrow and smiled. "Is that why your so stuttery around me?" She sighs and hide her head. "Yeah, I got it all from my dad when it comes to love-...WAIT WHAT?!?!" Her head shoots up and her face is a deeper crimson than before. "Gee I thought you were nervous when it came to confessing your love to me?"
He stands up slightly and leans over the table, getting closer and closer to her. "Huh?" Was all that came out of her mouth before his lips were on hers. It was a sweet kiss, but it broke to soon for Marinette. His lips were just centimeters away from hers, their eyes locked and he murmured, "I have feelings for you too Mari."
The now barn red faced girl says nothing; she just couldn't, as her every word died on the tip of her tongue.
So with one swift movement she stands up and kisses his lips softly, it wasn't slow but it wasn't just a peck either.
After she released from the kiss, the doors to the kitchen opened to reveal Sabine with a tray from up inside their home, that carried: two perfectly cut sandwiches, a slice of cake for the both of them, two cups of tea, and a macaroon for each, (one green and one blue, for their eyes colors).
With large eyes Adrien stared at the smorgasbord in front of him. He hasn't seen this much food put on his plate since before his mom went missing. With a thank you and a hug to her mom, Marinette began to eat. Adrien sat there though, not knowing how to act. Marinette noticed his behavior and stopped mid bite of her sandwich.
"Adri, are you okay?" His head shot up with a nervous smile. "I don't know where to start." He made a gesture towards his plate and Marinette laughed light heartedly. "Adrien your so cute! But if I were to recommend where to begin, I'd choose the sandwich. It's smoked ham, fried with cheese on it, and mayonnaise. Then the cake, save the macaroon for last."
She winked and continued to Chow down. Adrien picked up his sandwich and took a bite. His eyes widen after a second more and he took a second bite twice as big as the first. It was all Marinette could do not to laugh at his child like demeanor. It was surprisingly different to her, a very cute kind of different.
"Are you always childlike when not in school?" He stopped eating his sandwich and blushed, putting his head down in Shame. "I'm not allowed to be myself in public. But we're the only ones around, and I just thought-" "I think it's cute."
She said, then went back to eating her sandwich, not making any eye contact with him. Adrien noticed the blush that spread to her ears and neck, grinned and reached over to boop her button nose. "We just shared an amazing kiss, don't be so bashful around me."
He smiled kindly, making Marinettes heart melt and a stupidly large blush covered her from head to toe at the mention of their kiss they shared. Adrien laughed; and Marinette leaned over the table and grabbed his green colored macaroon, placing it on her plate.
His laughter stopped when he noticed his cookie was now taken hostage and pouted. Marinette grinned happily and handed him her pink macaroon with her good hand.
"Is it to early to say I love you?" He asked with a major blush on his face.
