Fake Fiancee one-shot by Summer Cheng (@SummerCheng37)

Description:   Chole runs up to Luka and whispers something in his ear.  Luka nods his head and walks away.  Chole sighs.  Too bad he does not know. She sighs.  Is there more than meets the eye to the whole fiance charade?

       Chole's  POV:

It has been a week since I asked Luka for his help. I can only hope he will still fall through with it.

To my relief, he shows up shortly after I did to my parent's cottage.

I know it is wrong for me to use him. It is only I told my parents and grandmother I was bringing someone home for Christmas. Naturally, they assumed I was engaged so I had to let them think it was so. I could not be disappointment again.

...A few weeks went by and Luka and I grew closer than we had been in years.

I could not help but wish.

I wish he could feel the same way about me as I do about him.

It is impossible though, is it not?

I mean I am Bougerious and he is a Cuffaine.

Everyone knows Cuffaine's want nothing to do with the Bougerious.

Christmas is here at last. It is time for the annual Christmas Eve party. This means food, dancing, and other festivities.

I smile as my grandmother arrives.

It is a good thing he came over before she did.

"Hi, grandma, it is a pleasure to see you."

        "Hi, my favorite granddaughter."

         "Who is this?"

"I would like you to meet my fiance, Luka."  I blurt out.

I notice Luka looks a bit nervous as he shakes her hand.

I can only hope Grandma will not notice.

"Finance, well, I was not aware my only grandchild was getting married.  Congratulations!"

           I smile.

I  relax as Luka smiles as well.

As the party continues, Luka and I dance.  It is to put on a good show for them.

Somehow I feel as if it is more.  I  dare not say a word.

I cannot spoil it.  Even if it means he never speaks to me again.

My father is ever so proud.  "Imagine my daughter engaged, and she brings her man to share with our lovely festivities here.  So marvelous is it not?"

"It is rather a romantic gesture dear," Audrey remarks.

"I say the entire thing is fishy. Why did not my niece tell me this doubles as an engagement party? I could have brought a few gifts."  An aunt whines.

"Come on give us a smooch!" The others cheer them on.

Luka kisses her. He never meant to make it so unromantic. It is only he had not intended his first kiss with her to be because of someone's ideas.

Chole kisses him back. She is shocked but does not dare say as much. Perhaps, it pleases them. Ah, yes that must be it.

After the party ends, Luka asks to speak with me privately.

I nod my head and let him take my hand.

Once outside in the garden, I sigh.

       "What is it?"

"Do you want me to give you more money?"

"Chole it is not about the money."

       "It is not?"

Luka hands the envelope with the cash inside back to me.

I look at him in confusion. I do not understand.

I gasp as he holds my hands in his.  I blush as he looks at me as if I were his most favorite person in the world.

I try to pull away as it is all an act. I mean this is not real.

I should know as I hired him to be my fake fiance.

          "What is it, Luka?"

I see the hurt in his eyes.

The hurt that I put there.

I never meant to hurt him.

"Chole, shut up!"  Luka yells at me.

        "L-Luka, I do not understand."

"Shh, I said, shut up!  I meant it."

I feel something brush against my lips as he leans in and kisses me.

Sure we had kissed before to show off in front of the others.  Somehow, this time it felt different.  It felt like something too wonderful for words.

I close my eyes as I slowly return his kiss.

         Suddenly, he pulls away.

"Tell me, you felt it, too?"  I hear his voice plead with me.

"L-Luka, look you are a great guy."

"Chole, d-do not do this.  Not to me, please."

"I am begging you.  Chole, look I never meant for it to happen.  I love you!"

I look at him in surprise. I hold a finger up to my face. Suddenly, I feel as if I am unable to speak.

Luka gets down on one knee. He pulls out a box and asks, "So, Chole Bougerious now that you know how I feel about you, will you do the honor of being my real fiance?"

I  squeal. I nod my head.  "Yes, oh, yes I will marry you!"

Luka gets up and slides a lovely ring on my finger. I kiss him this time as his true fiance.

My parents come outside, clap, and snap some photos!

"Awe, I knew it. I knew he would finally come to his senses and ask you to marry him!"

               "Same here!"

"Ha, I knew it all along you was playing around. I never knew why.  Anyways, I am so proud of you boy for asking her before someone else could!"

I wonder along with Luka why no one else said a thing until now.

            The end...

      bye-bye, little owlets!

   -Summer out!

Author's Note: Yes, I know this one is probably a flop, but here it is.
