One week later, after school, "Hi, Philipp, how are you?" Mirelle asks.

    "I am sorry, Mirelle, I have to go!"  Philipp says.  He runs off.

        Mirelle thinks that was strange.  She can not help, but wonder why he left in such a hurry.

"Mirelle are you busy today?"  Aurore asks.

"No, not today," Mirelle says.

  "Ok, then come over to my house best friend!" Aurore says.

"Sure, what time?"  Mirelle asks.

"How about now?" Aurore asks her.

"Ok," Mirelle says. She leaves with Aurore to go to her house.

   Meanwhile, Philipp goes home and calls out, "Mom, I am home!"  He gets no answer.

"Mom, where are you?"  Philipp asks. He knows his mother should be home today. It is her day off.  He knocks on the door to her room, but still gets no answer.

    Phillip pushes the door to his mom's room open and gasps when he enters it.

 "Mom, oh no!" Philipp screams. He runs to her side and sees she is dead. 

    How could this happen? 

Back to the girls, Mirelle and Aurore arrive shortly at Aurore's house. 

 "Aurore, I worry about Philipp, he has been so odd lately," Mirelle says.

"I did not notice.  I am sure it is nothing, "Aurore says.

 A  few hours later, Mirelle goes home.  She enters the house and hears her phone buzz then ding. She checks it and sees Philipp sent her a text message.

Mirelle reads the text message and cries.  "Oh, no!" She says.

   Philipp's text to Mirelle

  I came home after school to check on Mom.  It was her day off and she was sick, but I found her dead.

   Mirelle's text to Philipp

Are you all alright?

Philipp's text to Mirelle

No, I am not!

Phillip's text to Mirelle

I called the police and they are here with me now.

Mirelle's text to Philipp

I am sorry about your mother.

Philipp's text to Mirelle

Do not be it is not your fault.

Mirelle's text to Philipp

You are my best friend, so I worry about you.

Philipp's text to Mirelle

I thought Aurore was your best friend.

  Mirelle's text to Philipp

A person can have two best friends, okay.  Aurore is one of them, and you are the other one!

Philipp's text to Mirelle

I am glad you feel that way, best friend!

Phillip's text to Mirelle

I have to go so I can answer the questions the police have for me. Bye, Mirelle!

    Mirelle stands beside the bed in her room and cries. She feels sorry for Philipp because he just lost his mother. She is to upset to stop crying.

   Now with Philipp and the police...

    Philipp asks the police officers, "What is it you need to know?"

"When was the last time you saw your mother alive?"  Officer Roger asks.

"Yesterday, when she left the house to go to work. I remember because she told me she hoped I had a  great day.  Then, today she told me before I left for school she was sick.  It was her day off from work,"  Philipp explains.

   "Today, after school, I came straight home to check on her since I knew she was not feeling well," Philipp says.

"Oh, I see!" Officer Roger says as he jots down some things on his notepad.

"Well, young man, you need to come with me to the station for further questions,"  Officer Roger tells him.

   "Yes, sir!"  Philipp says as the tears continue to fall. He can help it he misses his mother.

      Officer Roger gets his men to help out with the crime scene.  He takes Philipp with him to the police station. They go in the front door. 

     Philipp looks around him and wonders why the officer felt it necessary to bring him here.  He hears the officer ask, "Do you know how your mother died?"
 

   "No, what are you saying?"  Philipp answers.

"I am saying we have reason to suspect foul play as in it appears she was murdered,"  Officer Roger explains.

"What?  Who would kill my mother?" Philipp asks. He appears to be in shock about the bad news.

"We were hoping you could help us figure this out," Officer Roger says.

"How?  I told you everything I know,"  Philipp says through his tears.

   "Did your mother have any enemies?"  Officer Roger asks as gently as possible.

 "Not that I am aware of, now may I please go home?"  Philipp replies.

     "Sorry, but you can not do that just yet young man," Officer Roger states.

   "You are under arrest in suspicion of the murder of your mother,"  Officer Roger explains as he handcuffs him.

"What?  I did not kill her,"  Philipp protest.

   "Mirelle, what is the matter?  Why are you so upset?"  Kagami asks.

   "Kagami,  it is awful, Phillip's mother is dead,"  Mirelle tells her.
