The New Holders: Part Sixty-Four
"No..." Queen Bee whimpered. "Sabrina... What have they done to you?"
Vixen started laughing, and she couldn't stop. "I love that expression!!" She said between gasping for air. "The hopelessness! It's so fufilling!!" Vixen erupted into unending laughter.
"What have you done to her?!" Queen Bee screamed desperately.
Vixen stopped laughing and pondered this for a moment. "She's my puppet now. I control her every action." She giggled a bit to herself. "It's funny. You may have her heart, but now I've got my strings wrapped all around it."
Queen Bee shot a glance back to Steel Peacock, who had landed back on the ground and was standing there, staring blankly at nothing. "What the heck do you mean by that?"
Vixen shrugged casually. "It means exactly what it means, bee. My puppet does what I want or else my threats will slice right through her cardiovascular organ."
Queen Bee felt like she could've either vomited, shrieked, or punched Vixen in the face at that moment. Maybe even all three.
Vixen grinned at the sheer despair on Queen Bee's face. "Steel Peacock, go and squash this annoying insect!"
Steel Peacock lunged forward, and swung her fist. Queen Bee flinched, and couldn't move in time to dodge.
When the punch hit her, Queen Bee fell backwards by the force of the hit. Bee cried out in pain as her head hit the cobblestone street.
But she was given no time to recover. Suddenly, through blurred vision, she faintly saw the armored figure looming above her.
The pain of her hair being grabbed and yanked up by a fistful shocked Queen Bee back to reality. The reality that she was about to die by the hands of her love.
Steel Peacock's other hand enclosed itself sharply around Queen Bee's throat, and she let go of her grip on her hair.
"S-sabrina, please!" Queen Bee begged. She could feel her throat closing up under Steel Peacock's constricting grip. "Don't... d-do this-"
If she understood the words, her cold expression gave nothing to it. Steel Peacock raised her hand and thrust it sharply towards Queen Bee's injured leg.
Queen Bee screamed as paralyzing agony spiked from her leg all throughout her body. She swung her other leg blindly in an attempt to kick Steel Peacock away, but to no avail.
Steel Peacock's iron grip around her neck wasn't loosening. Queen Bee was panting hard, but she couldn't feel the sensation of cold air in her lungs. Panic arose through her, and she struggled as hard as she could to try to breathe again.
"Let her go!" Jade Turtle shouted from nearby, throwing his shield at Steel Peacock's arm. Steel Peacock dropped Queen Bee and moved out of the way. Queen Bee hit the ground, coughing and gasping for air.
"Jade... t-the people-"
Jade Turtle bent over and strung Queen Bee's arm over his shoulder and helping her get away from Steel Peacock. "Don't worry, all of the people are safe. But we've got bigger problems than that right now."
Queen Bee glanced up, and saw what he was talking about.
Ladybug, Chat Noir, and Volpina were all gagged and tied up on wooden crosses, like they were going to be crucified. Volpina looked completely unconscious, while Ladybug and Chat Noir were trying to struggle against the ropes. The crosses were placed on three corners of a red pentagram painted on the street. Vixen stood outside of the pentagram, holding a torch of white flame, and holding up an old book.
"Oh god." Queen Bee exhaled.
"Should we regroup?" Jade Turtle asked anxiously. "Maybe we co-"
"We can't. We don't know how long we have to save them. If we try to run, Steel Peacock will just chase us. We're all alone."
"Don't lose hope, Queen Bee!" Jade snapped. "We can save them! You're not alone in this."
Queen Bee nodded determinedly, and stood up on her own. "Okay. The plan is for you to distract Vixen, while I try to save Steel Peacock." When Jade Turtle shot her a confused glance, she offered an explanation. "My miraculous power would be useless here, and we can't risk using whatever yours is in case you were to detransform. Steel Peacock is the strongest out of us all. She's our only hope."
Jade Turtle nodded reluctantly, just before dashing towards where Vixen stood.
Queen Bee glanced to where Steel Peacock stood, knowing exactly what she had to do.
...
I'll be seeing yall tomorrow
