Today was a special day for a certain girl. It was Marinette's birthday and everyone was getting ready at the park to set everything up. All of Marinette's friends were there to finish decorating while her parents were finishing up the cake. Alya and (Y/n) had a plan to pretend that they will need help taking Alya's sisters to the dentist but in reality, they are taking her to her surprise party. They were almost done with the decorations. Well, almost. Kim, Nathaniel, and Juleka were trying to finish up with the blows. As they were doing that, Alya decided to call Marinette.

Alya: Sorry, (Y/n) and I are running late. Can you meet us at the park? We'll, uh-

Alya paused when she heard a balloon pop. Kim was inflating it and it knocked him back while Nathaniel and Juleka were unfazed

Alya: -jam straight from there to the uh, dentist!

Marinette: Yes, uh, yes! Awesome! To the dentist Totally! I'll be right there!

After Marinette hung up, both Alya and (Y/n) laughed at the phone call. "I got a feeling that Mari suspected something." (Y/n) smiled. "No, she doesn't." Alya waved it off. The two continued their playful banter as they went up to meet up with Marinette. Once they saw Marinette, they quickly led her to her surprise. Once they put a blindfold over Marinette's eyes, they took her to the Place de Vosges. They both took off her blindfold to show her the surprise party. Marinette was delighted to see all of her friends there, especially Adrien. Marinette was being showered with gifts for her friends as she was delighted by the thought of what her friends had done.

Soon it was Adrien's turn to give his gift to Marinette. "Happy birthday, Marinette." The birthday girl stares at the present in her hands with her mouth open. (Y/n) playfully rolled her eyes as she helped close her best friend's mouth. "Mari, just open it." (Y/n) chuckles a bit. Marinette lets out a giggle. Before she can open Adrien's gift, someone's voice interrupts, startling everyone.

"Befana comes at night, on her shaky broom in flight. She gives candy to those who are dandy." The new supervillain, Befana hops off her motorcycle and walks towards Marinette. (Y/n) quickly placed her hand in front of her best friend. "Grandma!?" Marinette gasped. "You lied to your grandma, Marinetta." Befana told. "No, I- I didn't know Alya and (Y/n) were throwing a surprise party for me." Marinette tried to explain. Alya then moved in front of Marinette and (Y/n). "She's for real, ma'am."

"And all those candies you pretended to be eating?" Befana questioned as she readied her blaster. "I'm sorry, grandma. It's just that I didn't want to upset you." Marinette lowered her head in shame. "I'm not your grandma anymore. From now on, I am only Befana! And I'm going to punish you for all those lies!" Befana tries to shoot her granddaughter, but Marinette quickly ducks. Unfortunately, Mylène was hit instead and turned to coal. "No!" Marinette yelled. "Mylène!!!" (Y/n) shouted her friend's name. As everyone was beginning to run away, Marinette's mom, who was turned into a fairy blocks her and (Y/n). The (h/c) haired girl stood in front of her best friend. "It's rude to leave while Befana's still speaking to you." Befana aims her blaster at the girls, but it gets knocked away by Cat Noir's staff. She glared at the cat hero. "Hey, I never knew grandmas could be so nasty." Cat Noir was perched on a speaker.

"You would look wonderful in white, my pretty kitty." Befana then fires at Cat Noir, who easily dodges it. "Eh, not convinced. I'm much more into black- makes my eyes stand out, don't you think?" Cat Noir jokes. Then he dodges more of the blasts from Befana. She turned to the fairy Sabine. "Take care of this pesky pussycat!" Fairy Sabine flies away to fight Cat Noir. "Hey, I thought fairies were supposed to be nice!" Cat Noir explains as he continues to be attacked. With Befana distracted, (Y/n) pushed Marinette to continue to run while she stayed behind. "I'm not going to let you hurt the girl who's been like a sister to me!" (Y/n) shouts. "It's quite rude to stand in family affairs..." Befana was about to fire at (Y/n) but paused. ".., then again, it's quite a beautiful sentiment to care for those who you see as family. So I see it's best to turn you into one of my fairies." Befana then fires at (Y/n). The young girl quickly dodged them as she hid inside a bush. Befana fires at the bush where (Y/n) landed in. She waits for a fairy (Y/n) to appear, but nothing. Befana looks inside the bush to find (Y/n) gone. Befana growls as she turns her attention to her granddaughter. (Y/n) had quickly hid behind some trees.

"We gotta help Marinette, Bitz." (Y/n) said. "Let's save this birthday!" Bitz exclaims.

"Bitz, fly in the night!"

With that (Y/n) transforms herself into the bat heroine, Chiroptera.

Chiroptera saw that Befana turned Alya and Kim into coal while turning Rose into a fairy. "Oh, no!" Chiroptera gasped. Suddenly, fairy Sabine falls into the trees and Cat Noir drops down in front of Marinette. "Cat Noir! Get Marinette out of here!" Chiroptera shouts. Cat Noir nodded and turned to Marinette. "Sorry, I kept you waiting. We need to find you a better hiding place. Shall we?" he winks at her and takes her somewhere safe. "Marinetta is getting away with the kitty! Catch them!" Befana ordered. Before she could leave herself, she was hit by Chiroptera's tessen fan while the rest of the friends caught the fairies with banners. "Marinette is cool, so don't touch her." Juleka said. "We won't let you hurt Marinette!" Max yells. As Befana continues to block Chiroptera's attack, she kicks the bat heroine away and turns towards the teens. "Is that how you speak to your elders? How rude." She then turns them all into coal. "Maybe this way you'll learn to keep quiet." Chiroptera rubbed her head from the impact and gasped that her friends had turned to coal. She quickly gets away before Befana notices her.

From the rooftops, she quickly caught up with Cat Noir and Marinette. "I'm sorry, guys, I tried my best!" Chiroptera hung her head down in shame. "It's okay, Chiroptera. You tried." Marinette forgave her. "You must be a real cool girl if your friends are protecting you like that. So why's your grandma flipping out?" Cat Noir questioned. "I think she wanted me to spend more time with her." Marinette replied. They made it to the Eiffel Tower. Once there, Cat Noir gently placed Marinette down on the viewing deck. "Don't worry. Chiroptera and I promise to get your real grandma back safe." He pounced on the rail but he stopped to look at Marinette. "Oh, I almost forgot. Happy birthday, anyway."

Marinette smiled at him. "Thank you, Cat Noir." Once he was gone, Chiroptera turned to the birthday girl. "Better to transform, Mari. Befana might be here any minute." Marinette nods at her best friend. Before Chiroptera could leave to help Cat Noir, she turned back to Marinette. "You know Mari, after this, the best way to fix the misunderstanding is good communication. I can see you have it better with your family. You already know its bad with family, but it's not too late for yours." Chiroptera leaps off the tower and heads towards Cat Noir.

From the sky, Befana was riding her bike as she sang her song. She begins to turn people either to coal or fires based on the deeds they have done. "La Befana comes at night, on her shaky broom in flight. She gives out candy to those who are dandy. And only gives coal to brats with no soul." Before she could continue more, she was suddenly knocked off her bike by Cat Noir's staff.

"Cat Noir comes to, unexpectedly," Cat Noir paused his singing. "Uh, how do you make that rhyme?"

Then Ladybug and Chiroptera landed beside him as they finished his song. "Fighting evil with his batty and his lady!"

"Of course! Not bad, Bugaboo and Bat Bud!" Cat Noir comments. They could see that Hawk Moth was now communicating with Befana, From the looks of it, he had to say 'please' to her about getting their Miraculous. Befana points at Cat Noir. "You little thief! Where have you hidden Marinetta?!" Cat Noir shrugs. "I forgetta." Chiroptera playfully rolled her eyes at him. "Watch out, or you'll be getting a time out of your own." Ladybug told. "Take care of these little villains." Befana commands. Her fairies then began to attack the trio. "What does the villainous cat burglar do when he feels threatened?" Befana asked herself. She then spots the Eiffel Tower. "He climbs!" She then runs from the rooftops and climbs on her bike as she heads toward the tower. Cat Noir noticed where she was headed. "We can't let her get to the Eiffel Tower!" Cat Noir called out. "And why not? Ooh! " Ladybug dodged a fairy. "Because that's where I hid her granddaughter!" Cat Noir goes after Befana. "Wait no, she's-!" Chiroptera quickly covers Ladybug's mouth and goes over to follow Cat Noir with Ladybug behind her. "CN, wait up!"

"Where are you, Marinetta? Befana has a special treat for you!" Befana flew around trying to find Marinette. Cat Noir hops in the back of Befana's bike. "Can I hitch a ride? Your granddaughter isn't here. Let me show you the way." He grabs the handle and steers it away. "Pets are not allowed on board!" She spins her bike to shake off Cat Noir. Once he was falling, Ladybug and Chiroptera saved him on time. "What a sweet Ladybug and Bat you both are. You'll make perfect fairies!" She flies at the trio, but they quickly get away. "Thanks, but no thanks, Beside, I prefer to be a bat anyways." Chiroptera smirked. "Same here with me as a ladybug." Ladybug smiled. "You can't turn down a gift, you rude little imps! You take care of the kitty, my fairies, while I punish this polka-dot and purple bat brats!" Befana commands. The fairies begin to attack Cat Noir, while Befana deals with Ladybug and Chiroptera.

"Echo!" Chioptera summons her power. She threw the glowing orb and saw wave signals only she could see. She could see the shots that were being fired at them. She quickly grabs Ladybug's hand and helps her dodge the fires from Befana. She quickly noticed from her powers that the glowing shots were coming down. Before it could hit them, Chiroptera quickly pulled Ladybug and herself inside the tower. They have also noticed that Befana was dodging her own shots. Before Befana could fire at the two heroines, she ran out of ammo. They quickly went over to Cat Noir.

"Cat Noir! We saw Befana dodging her own candies. Even she can't touch them!" Ladybug explains. They all watched Befana refilling her ammo. "The Akuma must be in her candy bag!" Chiroptera exclaims.

"Of course! Lucky Charm!" Ladybug summons her power and catches the object. "You didn't tell me you played the tuba." Cat Noir tilted his head. "I don't, but it looks like I'm gonna have to learn." Ladybug said. Suddenly Befana shoots around them. The fairy charges at them as the ground underneath them breaks and they all fall. "Very naughty. I'm going to have to take your toys away from you." Befana gets closer to the trio. Ladybug looks around and uses her Lucky vision to see the elevator doors, the underground fire hydrant, and the tuba. "Okay. You win, Befana." Ladybug quickly winks at the shocked Cat Noir and Chiroptera. "I- I did lie, I'm sorry. Your granddaughter is here." Cat Noir followed along. "We're truly sorry, Befana and it's best to tell the truth now than never." Chiroptera gave a smile. "I don't believe you." Befana glared at them. "I'll take you to her myself." Cat Nori stood up with his hands raised as he led Befana away. "Keep an eye on the ladybug and bat." Befana ordered her fairies. Once she was gone with Cat Noir, Ladybug quickly used her yo-yo to pull the fire toy and give it to Chiroptera. "Sorry guys, we've gotta put you all in time out!" Ladybug smiled as she and Chiroptera had their backs towards each other. Ready to bring the fairies down.

After dealing with the fairies, the two heroines quickly went over to Cat Noir, only to see him watching Befana fly away. "Don't worry, Cat Noir. Marinette's safe." Ladybug told.

Befana hops off her bike and readies her weapon for when the doors open. "I'm waiting for you, Marinetta." When the elevator door opened, she was shocked to find her fairies tied up. "What?"

The trio then landed behind her. Ladybug used her yo-yo to grab the tuba. "Cat Noir! The fire hydrant!" She yells. "My pleasure! Cataclysm!" Cat Noir summons his power and then destroys the fire hydrant. Befana was shocked to see the heroes behind her. Ladybug and Chiroptera quickly placed the tuber over the torrent of water. It fires towards Befana. She tries to block it with her weapon, but she ends up turning herself into coal. "Noooo!"

Ladybug grabs the candy box and breaks it in half. She was releasing the Akuma. "No more evildoing for you, little Akuma! Time to de-evilize!" She captures the Akuma with her yo-yo. "Gotcha!" She released the now purified butterfly. "Bye-bye, little butterfly." She then throws the Lucky Charm into the air. "Miraculous Ladybug!" Everything is soon back to normal. The people who were turned to coal were normal again and the damage was repaired. The coal Befana turned back to normal and then she was turned back into Gina. Marinette's grandmother looks around in confusion. "Pound it!" The trio fist bumps their victory.

After everything was back to normal, everyone was back at Marinette's birthday party. Nino was playing music while everyone was having a good time. (Y/n) decided to take a break from the dance. She noticed that her best friend was having a loving grandmother-daughter scene. She knew that Marinette was lucky enough to have people like her grandmother in her life. It's also good that Marinette took (Y/n)'s advice. Communication is an important thing in a family.

Now it was time for Marinette to blow out her candles. Everyone was singing "Happy Birthday" as her parents were bringing the cake. Ivan and Kim helped Marinette up as she blew out the candles. (Y/n) smiles and walks up. "Happy birthday, Mari." She hands Marinette her present. Inside were samples of silk she ordered from Italy she knew that Marinette would love for her next fashion projects. There was also a card with a small song she wrote for Marinette. The birthday girl smiled at her best friend and hugged her. Adrien walks over to Marinette and hands her the present. "You never got a chance to open it with all that was going on." Marinette smiled as she opened it and was surprised to see what was inside. It's a charm like Marinette's old one. "I always carry the lucky charm you gave me with me wherever I go, and I think it works pretty well. So... I figured it was my turn to make one for you." Adrien explains. "You're so wonderful... Oh, uh- it's wonderful, what a charm! Uh... luck charm! I-I'll wear the charm um, with luck! Basically, um... thank you." Marinette again stutters her words. (Y/n) and Marinette's family watched in awe at them.

Nino began playing music again and everyone was dancing. Marinette and (Y/n) were with Bitz and Tikki, sitting by on the far benches. Marinette was gazing at the bracelet Adrien gave her. "Do you realize? He made it specially for me, with his own hands. Adrien..." Marinette sighs happily. Tikki was upset about her gift from the morning. "Yeah, well, it's kind of a weird gift if you ask me." Tikki told. "Heh, no weirder than yours, Tikki." Marinette playfully winks. (Y/n) and Bitz chuckles at them. Tikki was offered until she saw that she made the kwagatama into a necklace. "But that doesn't mean they're not both precious to me." Marinette explains. "So you really did like the gift, then!"Tikki exclaims happily.
Marinette tucks the kwagatama necklace back down her shirt. "Of course, I did. The most important thing about a present, Tikki, is the person who's giving it." (Y/n) smiles at them. "She's right. A special gift is from the people who put their heart and soul into it because they care about you the most." (Y/n) then pulls out from pieces of cake she hid. "Now, how about we enjoy some cake?" Bitz licks his lips at the sight of the cake. "You read my mind, (Y/n)!" The four of them laughed together as they ate their cake. As far as Marinette knows, this has been her best birthday so far.
