Babybug

It was a warm summer night in Paris. Children scampered across the streets chased by parents, and teens chattered along while slowly walking under the lights of the city. For once, nothing was out of the ordinary... especially at the Agreste household.

"Aren't you just adorable?" Adrien cooed, watching his daughter play with the blocks before him.

Marinette walked through the living room door, tiredly taking a seat on the couch behind Adrien. "Thank goodness there wasn't an akuma attack today," she murmured, picking up Emma. "Then there wouldn't be anyone to take care of you, you little troublemaker."

Emma giggled.

"I personally think she was old enough to go to the arcade with Nino and Alya," Adrien argued, carefully eyeing his wife. "When did they start taking their kids again?"

"When they were at least a year older than Emma," Marinette said with a sense of finality. "I know you don't want to be overprotective, Adrien, but sending her there is quite far-fetched. She can barely walk yet!"

Adrien nodded. "I guess so. But it doesn't matter anyway... it's not like-"

CRASH!

Marinette and Adrien shared a worried look, glancing outside the window to confirm their suspicions. Sure enough, another akumatized villain had begun wreaking havoc to the city.

"You've got to be kidding me!" Marinette shot up from the couch and handed Emma to Adrien.

Adrien rose too, slowly walking towards the window and spotting the villain. "I hate to break it to you, Mari, but it doesn't look like you can take this one alone."

Marinette stomped her foot, glaring at the window as if it would make the villain disappear. "I'm going to go ahead and blame this on your bad luck."

"Hey!" Adrien frowned. "I thought your good luck was supposed to outweigh my bad luck!"

"This is nobody's luck's fault," Tikki reassured as she flew into the room.

Plagg soon followed. "Yeah, it's just Hawkmoth being cranky again. Although this situation... definitely not the best of circumstances."

Tikki nudged Plagg. "Don't worry them even more!" She flew towards Marinette. "We've dealt with worse, Marinette. There's a simple solution, so just transform and it'll all make sense."

Marinette nodded, brushing her earrings and saying the usual catch phrase. She watched as Adrien did the same and scrutinized his costume after. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

He, on the other hand, looked quite startled by Ladybug's new costume.

"What?" Ladybug stared down at her outfit. On top of the regular costume was a baby harness, carefully tied to Ladybug's chest and just the right size for Emma. "Oh you can't be serious... Tikki, there's no way I'm doing this!"

"I don't know," Chat said. "I'm personally digging the outfit- for both me and Emma."

He turned around to show a small backpack, with all the necessary baby essentials, attached to the Chat Noir suit. When he turned back and held up Emma, Ladybug's jaw dropped at her outfit.

A cozy Ladybug onesie with a tiny baby mask to complement it.

"Tikki and Plagg were serious about this then, huh?"

"It's not a bad idea," Chat admitted. "The suit will protect her and you know how safe anything on our suits is. The harness won't break."

"She's a child!" Ladybug reminded. "You don't take any children out to battle!"

Chat stepped closer, carefully buckling Emma into Ladybug's harness. "Yeah, but she's our child. And she certainly doesn't fit into the category of any child."

*~*~*~*

"Chat Noir- use your cataclysm!"

Ladybug pointed to the beam above the Noisemaker's head. After an incredibly long battle in which the booming noises constantly caused Emma to scream and cry, all she was hoping for was a distraction to end this fight one and for all.

The Noisemaker's powers didn't help. His aversion to auditory stimuli had been what got him akumatized in the first place, and now he was torturing Paris with the same sounds that had annoyed him... but louder. This, mixed with the constant wailing from Emma, was enough to drive anyone insane- even the heroes of Paris.

Raising her yo-yo as a last ditch effort, Ladybug called for her Lucky Charm.

"A megaphone?" she asked. "What am I supposed to do with this."

She looked around, studying the destruction and her eyes landed on her daughter in front of her. Of course!

Sometimes you just had to fight fire with fire.

The beams fell on the Noisemaker, prompting Emma to cry as usual. Except this time, instead of consoling her, Ladybug held the megaphone to her lips.

The Noisemaker fell to his knees, clutching his head in agony and screaming something about the horror of crying babies. With a carefully maneuver, Chat grabbed the hearing aids from his ears and tossed them to Ladybug, who broke them and cleansed the akuma with an exasperated flourish.

"Miraculous Ladybug!" she cried, tossing up the megaphone and watching the tiny ladybugs fly around the city. She turned to Chat. "I think she's hungry. Hand me that mink bottle, will you?"

Chat obliged, turning around so she could access his backpack. "Looks like we have a flood of reporters today, milady." He pointed to the crowd of people walking towards them.

Ladybug groaned and let Chat feed Emma for her. "I forgot about that," she muttered. "They're going to ask about the baby."

Sure enough, Alya dashed over towards them, panting as she asked, "Who's this little Babybug?"

Ladybug glanced behind Alya to see Nino running around with their twins. "Oh she's... um... she's ours."

"What?!" Alya broke into a huge smile. "You mean, yours and Chat Noir's?"

Ladybug shyly nodded. Chat, on the other hand, looked like he was going to burst into laughter at Alya's giddy expression.

"Well," Alya took a deep breath at the surprising news. "She's certainly following in the footsteps of her parents." She tugged one of Emma's blond pigtails. "And definitely looks like them too. I hope you don't mind..."

Alya bit her lip worriedly.

"It's no purroblem," Chat reassured, grinning. "I'm sure she likes you."

Just then, Emma had chosen to reach up towards Alya. "Aunt Awya!"

Ladybug's eyes widened and she shot a horrified look towards Chat. "Um... we'd better get going, see ya later, bye!"

Both superheroes dashed off into the night, leaving a very confused reporter and many questions yet to be answered.
