Valentines Day | LadyNoir
Marinette yawned as she woke up on Saturday. She felt like she was forgetting something important about today, but ignored it.
"Tikki?" She called. Her Kwami floated towards her. "Happy Valentines Day Marinette!" Tikki cheered as she flew around Marinette's face.
"Valentine's Day? That's what I forgot!" Marinette exclaimed, and facepalmed. "But it's Saturday! Don't tell me I have to go to Adrien's house to ask him."
"I don't think you have the time. As you see, you slept until one. I suggest you eat lunch, and then go for patrol." Tikki advised.
"Ah darn it Tikki, you're right." Marinette sighed and wished she'd set an alarm.
She headed downstairs, where she found a note on the fridge from her parents.
Went on a lunch date, but there's some fresh baked croissants in the oven! -Mama and Papa.
Marinette smiled at the note and happily ate a croissant. She also handed Tikki a cookie, which the Kwami gladly consumed.
"I guess it's time for patrol." Marinette said as she finished her croissant. "Spots on!"
She transformed and swung as quickly as she could to reach the rooftop where Chat and her always started their patrol.
She arrived, and was surprised to see that Chat wasn't there yet. 'He's running late.' Ladybug thought and sat down on the ledge, patiently.
Ladybug had been perched on the rooftop for a few minutes when Chat Noir dropped beside Ladybug, holding something behind his back.
"Happy Valentines Day My Lady." He winked and handed her a bag of chocolates that read: Love Bug chocolates.
Ladybug groaned as Chat laughed. "You are so glad you got to make a pun out of this." Ladybug stated.
"Yup." Chat Noir confirmed.
"I'm sorry Chat. I forgot today was even Valentines Day, so I couldn't get you anything." She apologized.
"That's fine my Lady. All I want is for you to enjoy your treat." Chat Noir smiled.
Ladybug smiled back at him as she opened her bag of chocolates and tried one.
The chocolate was smooth and creamy. "Try one." Ladybug offered one to Chat Noir. "If you insist my lady." He grinned eagerly as he tried one.
"Oh that's good." His grin grew.
"Mhm." Ladybug smiled as she popped another one into her mouth.
"Hey Ladybug, I need to ask you something." Chat Noir said as he fidgeted with his staff. He seemed nervous.
"What is it?"
"Ladybug, will you be my Valentine?" He asked, his cheeks turning slightly red.
Ladybug felt her cheeks grow warm. Never, in her entire life, had she been the one asked to be a valentine.
"I-I-I don't see why not." Ladybug answered after a minute.
Chat Noir beamed happily.
Then, a scream of terror and both heroes leapt to their feet. "Guess we'll have to plan our date later My Lady." Chat Noir said as Ladybug and him chased after the sound.
This akuma battle is brought to you by an evil fashion designer hiding in his basement instead of being a supportive father.
"Pound it!" Ladybug and Chat Noir grinned in unison after they'd defeated the Akuma.
Long story short, there was this girl who got rejected by every single guy she asked.
Their miraculous beeped, and they knew they had to go now.
"Meet me at the Eiffel Tower at sundown, okay?" Chat Noir asked, and Ladybug nodded.
"Okay."
"See you then my Lady." He winked and ran off.
Ladybug quickly raced back to the bakery.
Ladybug detransformed into Marinette just as she hit the balcony.
"That was close," she said to no one in particular.
She went down the stairs and sat down at her desk as her Kwami enjoyed a cookie. She wondered what Chat Noir was going to do for Valentine's Day.
It would be a long wait to find out.
Time skip
Her parents were going for a romantic dinner and then ice cream, so they wouldn't be back until much later. Marinette was in the clear to sneak out.
Alya, however, was texting her a lot about something called LadyNoir. As far as Marinette could tell, that was the 'ship' name for Ladybug and Chat Noir.
OMG. LadyNoir might become canon tonight! Think Nino would come with me on a hunt for them? Alya texted.
I don't know if you'd find them. They're superheroes! Plus they might not even be Valentine's! Marinette replied.
Obviously they're Valentine's! Chat loves ladybug and I'll bet you ten dollars he asked her, and they go to the Eiffel Tower.
I'm not taking that bet. Plus, what if they aren't in costume?
OMG that would be even better, because then all I'd have to do is find someone who looks like Chat Noir, find his date, and BOOM! I'd know who they are!
Oh Alya. Lots of people look like Ladybug and Chat Noir!
Whatever. Anyway, are you sure you're cool with being alone on Valentine's Day?
Yeah. It's better than third-wheeling with you and Nino.
Aw. Well girl, good luck.
Thanks Alya! Enjoy your date!
Marinette put her phone away, and as she looked out her window, she noticed it was getting darker.
"I guess it's time," she chuckled to herself, nervously. "Spots on!"
Ladybug then jumped out the bakery and ran to the Eiffel Tower. She climbed up the Tower, but unfortunately, she wasn't invisible.
People noticed the spotted heroine and wanted to take pictures and ask questions.
Ladybug tried to find Chat Noir, but with so many people buzzing around her, she couldn't.
"Ladybug will you be my Valentine!" A guy yelled and Ladybug heard a smack sound and the same guy yelping in pain. She giggled, assuming that was the girl (or guy) he'd asked.
"Stick with the date you have!" Ladybug called back.
"Ladybug, will you be my Valentine?!" A different guy yelled, but a more familiar voice interrupted.
"Woah people, Ladybug here is my date. Paws off." Chat Noir said as he approached his Lady.
"Now what do you say we enjoy ourselves m'lady?" He suggested with a wink. Ladybug smiled and accepted.
"Unfortunately, I'm not rich, so I can't buy this place for the night. How about we go lower down? Still a great view." Chat Noir asked, with his big green eyes.
Ladybug sighed, amused. Looks like puppy-dog eyes weren't her problem. Kitten eyes were.
Plus, the tower was crowded. Things are always awkward when it's crowded.
"Of course Chaton."
Chat Noir beamed, and the duo crawled down to the lower platform of the Eiffel Tower, and Ladybug had to admit the view was still wonderful. Especially with what Chat had added to the area.
It was decorated with glowing candles, and Chat managed to bring up a small table and two soft chairs. On that table, were chocolates Ladybug recognized as the most expensive in Paris. It was supposed to be the best chocolate in Paris, and they were shaped in roses.
"You sure you're not rich?" She questioned, jokingly as she sat in the softest seat she'd ever sat in.
"Haha. Me? Rich? HAaaa." Chat Noir laughed nervously.
'Crap, ShEs OnTo mE' Chat thought silently.
She thought she saw Chat Noir tense for a second, but she brushed it off.
Chat? Rich? No way.
Chat Noir walked around a column of the tower before coming back with a bouquet of red and pink roses, and offered them to the masked heroine.
"For you, My Lady." Chat Noir smiled, happily,
Ladybug had never been so flattered in her entire life. She was at a loss for words.
"Something wrong?" Chat asked and the smile was wiped from his face.
"No! Nothings wrong, I just- I've never felt this special before." Ladybug explained, blushing.
The grin was back on Chat's face. "Then I'm glad I get the honour of being the first one." He told her softly, and he took a single red rose from her, and put it in her hair.
Ladybug blushed again.
Chat pulled out the seat for Ladybug, like a gentleman before he sat down across from her.
Ladybug opened the chocolate, and looked eagerly at Chat, as if asking if she could have one.
Chat smiled at his Lady and nodded, so she grabbed one and threw it into her mouth.
"Wow," she sighed, dreamily, "it's amazing."
"Should I be jealous?" Chat Noir joked.
"Maybe," Ladybug responded as she ate another.
Chat Noir smiled, happy that Ladybug was enjoying their date.
"Also, I may have gone to a bakery to grab something." Chat Noir brought out two croissants.
"Croissants?" Ladybug questioned.
"Don't you be hating the croissants."
"I wasn't hating. I love croissants." Ladybug smiled as she took a bite of hers.
Chat Noir grinned cheekily and he also ate his. Ladybug couldn't help but think about how kind he'd been tonight.
The chocolates, the flowers, the croissants, even the candles and table. He didn't need to, but he chose to put all this effort in.
For her.
'Crap,' Ladybug thought, 'I like him.'
After a minute or so, Ladybug cleared her throat and put down the croissant. "Chat, there's something I need to tell you."
Chat Noir put down his croissant. "What is it my Lady?"
"You, uh, deserve to know what happened last year. Last Valentine's Day."
Chat Noir tensed, nervously. "You mean Dark Cupid?" He asked.
"Yeah," she replied, fidgeting with her fingers.
Chat Noir took a deep breath. Plagg had told him about the awful things he'd said, but apparently there was more?
"So after you saved me, you started saying really mean things to me," ladybug began. "Oh, don't worry Chat! I knew you didn't mean any of them!" She added, hurriedly after seeing the look on Chat's face.
He relaxed slightly, and Ladybug was about to resume her story, but before she could, fireworks started going off.
"Oh look how pretty they are Chaton!" Ladybug admired the explosions of colour, temporarily getting sidetracked.
"I like the green and red ones," He winked and she playfully rolled her eyes.
"Back to the story?" He suggested and Ladybug cleared her throat, nodding.
"Well, Eventually, your hate led you to team with Dark Cupid-" she paused as Chat Noir banged his head on the table.
"Chat, don't do that." She sighed.
Chat Noir stopped, but his head was resting on the table.
"And you tried to Cataclysm me-"
Chat Noir shot up from the table, startling Ladybug. "I tried to Cataclysm you? I am so sorry! I'm a terrible human-!" Chat Noir started apologizing rapidly.
"Chat, stop rambling. I'm fine." Ladybug hid a chuckle. He was so quick to apologize, even for something he had no control over.
Chat hesitantly sat back down, and as he did, the fireworks started to get bigger.
"And the whole time, I was remembering something a friend told me," she continued, "about how True Love's kiss can break spells?"
Chat Noir started at her, bewildered. "Are you saying that you...?"
"I kissed you Chat Noir." Ladybug confessed.
Chat Noir physically fell from the table and curled into a small ball on the floor.
He'd kissed Ladybug?
No scratch that,
She'd kissed him?
oN a TrUe LoVe's KiSs?
"Ohhhh myyyyy goddddd." Chat Noir screeched from the ground.
Ladybug tried to hide a laugh, but failed.
Chat poked his head out from his ball. "TRUE LOVE'S KISS?"
Ladybug nodded, blushing.
"But that means you like me too, M'lady." Chat Noir winked.
"I-I-I guess it does," she stuttered as he got closer.
"Any chance I could have that memory refreshed?" Chat Noir joked with a smirk on his face.
"Course Chaton." Ladybug stepped towards him and closed the gap between them as their lips connected.
Chat Noir threw his hands around Ladybug's hip, and Ladybug threw her arms around his neck.
The fireworks really started going. Flashes of gold, red, green, and blue spread across the sky.
But the heroes were in their own little world, and didn't notice.
Eventually, the kiss broke and Chat Noir stared at Ladybug in awe. Ladybug giggled nervously.
"Can I have another one?" The words tumbled out of Chat's mouth before he could think.
"Maybe after the fireworks kitty." Ladybug laughed and turned to watch the finale. Chat Noir took his lady's hand and watched it with her.
They watched as the gold clashed with blue, and the red danced in the sky with green.
Finally, they watched as all four colours came together and spread in the stars before dissolving.
Chat Noir turned to his Lady. "Well my Lady?"
Ladybug rolled her eyes. "Don't get greedy kitty." She advised, as she kissed him once again.
"I love you Ladybug." Chat Noir said after the kiss finished, with his green eyes shining in the moonlight.
"I love you too Chat Noir." Ladybug replied, sincerely.
And they closed the gap between them yet again.
And again.
And again.
It was definitely the best Valentines Day the heroes ever had.
