Prom Night | MariChat
So I don't think they have prom in France, but for the sake of this one shot they do.
It was Prom night for Marinette and, surprise surprise, she didn't have a date. Before she could gather the courage to ask out Adrien, Chloe asked him first.
Adrien, being the sweetheart he is, couldn't say no to his first friend. Chloe knew this and couldn't stop bragging about it the following week.
Alya was ready to kick Adrien's ass but Marinette saw no reason. It was her fault after all. Chloe has just done what she couldn't, no need to get violent.
Marinette half-thought that Nathaniel was going ask her, but he went on a break with his family for a month.
So Marinette was alone.
Alya would be going with Nino. Alya offered to stay with her instead but Marinette refused. No way would Marinette let her friend miss her chance to dance with Nino.
Marinette was a little upset that she was going alone, but could deal with it fine. Hopefully Chloe didn't bother her too much.

"Plagg, I can't go. I've made up my mind." Adrien decided, falling back on his bed.
"Listen, Adrien," Plagg, for once, was actually trying to advise his friend. "I know that going with Chloe is gonna suck, but this is your chance to go to Prom like a normal kid. And your one Prom chance! Going with Chloe is going to suck but don't miss out on this."
"Dang it Plagg," Adrien mumbled, "now I need to go."
Adrien thought for a moment before grinning. "Adrien might have a da- er, meeting with Chloe, but Chat Noir doesn't."
"Are you sure?" Plagg asked. "I'm positive. Say, Plagg? Has anyone asked Marinette?"
"Marinette? The girl who smells like cookies?"
"Yes Plagg."
"Nah. In fact, Chloe's been insulting her about it all week." Plagg mentioned, casually.
Adrien whipped towards Plagg. "She's what?!"
"You didn't know?"
"Obviously not Plagg! If I'd know I would've canceled sooner! Why didn't you tell me?"
"Didn't think it was important." Plagg shrugged, taking a bite of his Camembert.
Adrien sighed at Plagg and dialled Chloe's number.
"Hi Adri-kins! Are you calling to talk about what dress I'm going to wear so we can match?" Chloe's snobbish voice asked through the phone.
"Uh, actually Chlo, I have to cancel."
"What? Why?" Chloè shrieked through the phone.
"I've got a bad stomach ache. Sorry Chloe." He lied.
"Fine. I'll just go with Kim. He won't stand me up." Chloè hung up.
"Well, she didn't call me selfish so it went better than I thought." He mused.
Marinette would wear a pink dress. He knew her enough to know it. He found a new looking pink tie and smiled.
Adrien opened his closet and stared at the midnight black suit he'd bought. He wouldn't wear it.
Chat Noir would.

Marinette wore a pale, but bright shade of pink dress that ended just above her knee, since she was determined not to trip tonight. The skirt was poofy. The top was sparkling and some sparkles carried down to the skirt. Her hair was taken out of its usual pigtails and lifted into a stylish bun Alya did.
Alya was wearing a long, red dress that had white sequins dashed in everywhere, and her normal curly hair was lifted into a messy but stylish bun.
Both girls grinned at each other, Marinette knowing Nino would pick up Alya in a few minutes. Marinette would be third-wheeling in the car for a few minutes before they went their separate ways.
The doorbell rang. Alya beamed and opened the door. Nino was standing there, in his black suit and red tie. He blushed lightly when he saw Alya and couldn't stop staring.
"You look beautiful." He smiled. "I know," Alya grinned playfully and took Nino's hand. Marinette slowly trailed after them, following them into the black car Nino drove.
Marinette day silently in the back of the car as Alya and Nino chattered excitedly.
A few minutes later, they pulled up at the school. "See you later, girl." Alya grinned as they entered the gym. Nino pulled Alya to the dance floor and they were soon lost in the sea of dancing teens.
Marinette sighed, a little sadly before heading over to the food table. "Well, well, well. If it isn't Marinette." An all-too familiar voice said, rudely.
"Hi Chloe. Shouldn't you be dancing with Adrien?" Marinette sighed, with jealousy.
Chloe was wearing a long, flowing golden dress with glitter covering it everywhere. It hugged her body tightly, and if it was a lighter shade, possibly see-through. Her usual ponytail had been lifted into a braided bun.
"He got sick and said he couldn't come. What a wimp! Good thing Kim offered to take me instead." Chloe smirked.
"Then go dance with Kim. Both of our nights would be more enjoyable." Marinette said.
"Please. Your night would be miserable no matter what. You don't have a date after all. Nobody wanted to go with you." Chloe laughed.
Suddenly, gasps stared filling the room as everyone turned towards the main entrance.
Standing there, in his midnight suit and pink tie stood Chat Noir, with his ears and all. The only difference was that he'd either removed his tail or tucked it into his tuxedo.
Chat Noir waved to the excited crowd and his eyes landed on Marinette.
Marinette didn't know why, but she started blushing.
"Y'know he's here for me, right? After all, I am his biggest fan." Chloe bragged.
"I thought that was about Ladybug?"
"Whatever."
"Excuse me." Chat Noir weaves his way through the crowd and approached Marinette.
Chloe stepped in front of Chat Noir. "Why yes Chat, I'd love to dance with you!" She beamed, grabbing his hand and trying to bring him to the dance floor.
Marinette's face burned. How dare Chloe force Chat Noir into something he didn't want to do! Chloe just wanted attention and popularity. But did Chat know that?
Chat Noir seemed uncomfortable. "No thanks." He murmured, breaking his hand free.
"Are you kidding?" Chloe whined. "If you don't dance with me, I'll call daddy!"
"So?" Chat Noir mused as he walked away.
Chloe was really mad. Nobody ever resisted the My-dad-is-the-mayor card! "He'll make your life living hell! He can make you an outlaw or send spies after you!" Chloe smirked, figuring she'd won.
To everyone's surprise, Chat Noir started laughing. "Just What is so funny?" Chloe demanded.
"I once took down his entire police force using the power of dance. Am I suppose to feel threatened?" He mused.
Some bystanders started giggling. Chloe, for once, seemed speechless with anger.
"Now, for what I came here for," Chat smiled and turned to face Marinette. "May I have this dance, Princess?" He asked, doing his signature bow.
"You may." Marinette grinned, and Chat Noir led her to the dance floor.
"Did he just call her princess?" Chloe said, horrified, talking to Sabrina. "Yeah, it's so cute." Sabrina sighed, happily.
"Excuse you?!"
"Uh notHING!"
Chat Noir looked over at the DJ and winked. He winked back and a slow song started playing.
Chat Noir put both of his hands around her waist and she put her arms around his neck.
They slowly started swaying to the beat. "You look beautiful Princess." He whispered.
"Thank you Chat." Marinette blushed. As they danced, Marinette slowly came closer to Chat Noir's chest.
Chat Noir was trying his best not to blush. Finally, she placed her head on his chest and let him guide her.
Chat couldn't help it. A quiet purr escaped his throat, and Marinette looked up at Chat, questioningly. He blushed. "You can purr?"
"What? No." He lied, embarrassed. "I won't tell anyone." She promised.
"How about we seal that deal," Chat Noir smirked, "with a kiss?"
He expected her to roll her eyes but instead she smiled at him and kissed him.
Chat was surprised but soon melted into the kiss, wanting it to last as long as possible.
Finally, Marinette broke for air.
"Deal." She smiled and the pair never left each other's side all night.
