Anxiety

Adrienette

It had been a long three day trip for the hero's class.
They had been take to a couple museums in another part of Europe.
Now at the time of 7: 35 pm, the class had loaded their things back into the bus and were filing in.
Each had chosen a seat partner before stepping onto the bus. Nino had snagged Alya before Marinette had the chance to ask. Chloe was sitting with Sabrina, Ivan with Mylene, Alex sat with Nathaniel, (fight me ok? They seem like they would be great friends!) Kim was next to Max and finally Julika sat with rose.
That left Marinette sitting next to the one person who she wanted to but didn't want to sit with for the duration of the ten hour bus ride. Adrien.
"Hey, do you want the window seat?" Adrien's voice startled her out of the thoughts. Marinette blinked twice before nodding silently.
Marinette slid into a seat on the right as Adrien sat next to her. She nervously played with her fingers as he did so.
About an hour in Marinette felt her panic start to rise as the bus rattled on. She wished she could speak to her kwami for comfort but the buss was to crowded.
Instead she pulled out her sketch book and flipped to a fresh page.
Pulling out a pencil, she tried to focus on the design she was drawing.
Adrien glanced over, seeing his friend engrossed in her drawing. He got a glimpse of part of an outfit definitely themed along the lines of Chat Noir.
"Why don't you draw something ladybug themed?" He couldn't help but wonder aloud.
Without lifting her eyes, Marinette shrugged. "Chats cool, and without him ladybug would not succeed."
Adrien smiled slightly at the blunettes words. After all he was her inspiration.
Adrien continued to watch for a while.
Marinette felt something on her shoulder, before realizing Adrien had fallen asleep. Glancing around she saw she was in fact the only student still awake.
The silence was unsettling. She sat there trying to focus on her drawing but her mind was racing. Her hand shook even though she tried to keep it steady. Her chest felt tight and breathing became very difficult. Her vision blurred and she lifter her left hand to wipe away the threatening tears.
The sudden movement woke up the blonde on her shoulder.
Glancing over at her, he took note of the change in her being. Marinette was obviously shaking and her breathing was twice a normal speed.
Adrien gentle reached over and placed his left hand on her knee, "Marinette?"
He asked softly, she didn't react. "Are you ok?"
Marinette did move this time, only her left hand. It moved on top of his hand and squeezed it.
Adrien had not been expecting this, let alone how strong her grip was.
Gently, he shifted so his right arm was wrapped around her. He held her close to him, feeling her accelerated heartbeat. Her sketch book slid from her lap as Marinette reached up to wipe more tears. She felt sick and claustrophobic, the silence seemed to be weighing down on her chest. The only comfort that she had was the arm around her.
The silence was broken suddenly by a soft singing.
It was a sweet tune that sounded like a lullaby.
Listening to it, Marinette found herself relaxing.
Her anxiety lessened as the soft male voice continued.
Adrien smiled at the reaction he got as she sang the lullaby.
As he sang the last words he glanced down at the now sleeping girl in his arms. Her eyes were closed and her head was rested against him. Although her face was red, it didn't change the fact that she was beautiful. Resting his head upon hers, he whispered softly "Goodnight Beautiful."
Only to here a sleepy voice mumbling back, "goognight Adwien."
Never before had it crossed his mind that she was more then a friend. But now it did. Maybe next week he could ask her to a photoshoot?
He smiled as he too drifted off.
