Thank you For Always Looking out for Me(Marinette/Adrien)
"Yawwwn"
Marinette let out what she thought might be the fifth yawn. Her forehead leaned on her hand as the other sketched something on her sketchbook. Which was on top of a whole bunch of scattered paper with sketches on it. She was up trying to get some things done. But it was so late at night and her energy was fading. Sleep tempted her to head to bed but she hoped to get this all done, telling herself to go to bed after all this was done. Too bad for her, a certain blonde cat hero was not having it.
As her hand aimlessly moved on the paper, another hand gently grabbed the tip of the pen and stopped in its trail. "Hm?" She got puzzled but noticed a familiar friendship bracelet on their wrist. "Hey princess" she felt a familar voice whisper to her and hearing it brought her joy to hear it out of all this quietness.
Adrien was already asleep earlier but he noticed his girlfriend still up and decided to check on her. His hand reached to tuck her midnight blue hair behind her ear. "What are you still doing up, mon cheri?" He asked her softly, his fingers gently ran down her hair. The soft stroking filled her with comfort. She missed his touch, and longed to be in bed with him to feel more of that touch.
"Just getting some work done. I'll be there in a bit" she told him tiredly, her voice showing the exhaustion. He frowned at that tone, recognizing it anywhere. He glanced at the scattered mess of sketches, and paper all over the table. It looked like she was nowhere near done, and barely had any energy to keep going. He glanced at the clock, and it read 12:50 am. Marinette looked like she would fall asleep on the table any moment. Not on his watch.
"Come on. Let's get you to bed" he told her, turning her rolling chair around so she was facing him instead of her table covered with sketches of designs. He could see her eyes look very tired. Those blue eyes dimmed from the lack of energy. Her hair a mess from running her hands through it so much. "I'm almost done Adrien. Just give me few more minutes" she insisted to him persisted as she rubbed her eyes tiredly but her partner was not allowing that.
He gently pushed a hair strand out of her face, and moved it behind her ear. "Marinette. You know doing to many things at once is not the best option. You've seen it" he said to her calmly but firmly. The blue hair girl knew that her boyfriend was not wrong. She had seen in the past how she tried to do too many things at once, and that never worked out too well.
"You can get this done in the morning. Besides, I know you want to go to bed with me" he told her, the last part playfully as she grinned at him, despite being tired. "Yawn ok" she told him yawning.
"Come on" Adrien told her as he wrapped his arms waist, moving her legs to wrap around his waist as he hoisted her up. The bluenette had her arms dangling over his shoulders, resting her head on his shoulder.
"You don't have to carry me. I can walk on my own" she told him exhausted, closing her eyes. He glanced down at her, smirking. "Then why do you look like you like that I'm carrying you?" He teased her and she softly smiled, having very little energy to even chuckle.
Adrien carried her upstairs to her bedroom, glancing briefly at the kwamis who were fast asleep and approaching the bed. "Ok. We're here. You can let go of me so I can sleep now. Marinette?" He said and when he noticed she wasn't responding, he glanced at her face, and so she was fast asleep with a content smile on her face.
He smiled at her, finding that peaceful look on her features so beautiful to him. He carefully and slowly lied on his back on the bed, holding her in his arms as he gently ran a hand down her ocean blue hair, staring at the ceiling.
"Thank you"
His green eyes went back to her, surprised to find her awake. Marinette lifted her head up, her blue eyes making contact with his. "For always being there for me" she whispered to him gratefully. She loved how he stood by her and look out for her just as she would do the same.
Adrien smiled at her warmly, as he leaned down to kiss her head. "Always princess. Goodnight cheri" he whispered to her as holding her in bed seemed to make fall asleep too. "Goodnight my prince" she whispered before sleep overtook them. The feeling and warmth of being in eachother's arms and the assurance that they had eachother's back gave them the well rested nap they needed.
