Patrolling for both of us (Marinette/Adrien)

Cat Noir leaped from house to house, on his way back home to his wife, and soon to be mom. Because of her pregnancy, Cat Noir couldn't risk her safety so he patrolled for the both of them.

Sometimes he patrolled alone and sometimes he patrolled with someone from their team.

He landed at his house, and took a quick look around to make sure no one followed him, his ears moving to detect any sound. Paris was silent tonight. Once the black cat holder was sure that he was clear, he opened the window to his bedroom with one of his claws.

His green cat eyes scanned around the room and they spotted his wife asleep on the bed with their dog, Chouquette, near her feet. The Australian shepherd's ears perked up at the window opening, and stood up growling at whoever was trespassing.

"Shh shh it's ok girl. It's ok. It's just me" he whispered to her, putting his hands out with a gentle smile. The dog sniffed the air and recognized her owner's scent and relaxed. Despite being in a different outfit, the powers of the miraculous didn't hide the scent.

He walked over to her and rubbed her head, assuring her all was was. The dog resumed its nap as the holder stretched his back, yawning tiredly. He turned to his wife, quietly asleep on her side.

"Plagg claws out" he whispered quietly so not to wake her, and detransformed. Plagg yawned tiredly as Adrien gently held his kwami and brought him to a little pillow where Tikki was. He laid the black cat kwami next to the ladybug kwami, rubbing his little head.

Adrien made his way to the bed and sat down, staring at the woman next to him. He leaned over to look at her belly. Her pregnancy had begun to show, getting large. In the next couple months, it would get bigger until it was time to have their baby.

He then looked at Marinette, breathing softly, her ocean blue hair loose, wearing a pink long sleeve shirt and white pants with pink flowers on it. Adrien smiled at her lovingly, finding her beautiful.

He leaned in to give her a gentle kiss on her cheek, moving her blue hair behind her ear. Adrien still couldn't believe that four months have passed. Four months after she told him that they would have their first baby.

He smiled at remembering that moment as he laid on his back, staring at the ceiling. His eyes were half closed, exhaustion hitting him hard.

Patrolling without his favorite ladybug partner was tiring.  Not to mention, finding someone to use the ladybug miraculous was often problematic. If there was a fight, the ladybug miraculous would either be used by one of their friends, himself, or he would fuse with it. All of it just drained him.

Adrien huffed tiredly, finding it hard at being a temporary team leader, and supporting for both of them. "What's bugging you kitty?" Marinette's voice whispered and he turned his face to find her awake.

Grunting, she turned to face him rather than look over her shoulder but he quickly stopped her. "Stay where you are. Don't exhaust yourself cherí" he told her, wrapping an arm around her waist. Adrien was trying his best to ensure she didn't tire herself out.

"Adrien. What's gotten you so down?" She asked him worriedly, placing her hand on top of his, glancing at the clock. It read 11:30 pm. Marinette realized her husband had returned home very late from patrols ever since she got pregnant.

She heard him sigh. "I feel so tired my queen" he whispered to her, making her blush a bit at the nickname. She was glad he couldn't see her face. When they got married, he started to call her his queen instead of princess. Not that she minded.

She did feel guilty though. The reason he was so exhausted was because she had put more load on him. He was patrolling longer, even when he had a friend, he would be the last one to leave. When there was a villian and they need the ladybug miraculous, he would transform into Mister Bug or do a fusion and become CatBug. Cat Noir would have Rena Rouge summon a mirage of Ladybug and he would use the miraculous's power incase anyone would start wondering where the real Ladybug was. Better safe than sorry.

She felt bad that he carried so much on his shoulders for the both of them. Plus, their baby. She knew that what they did assured a safe and happy future for their baby. Marinette wish she could help him. But her pregnancy greatly prevented her from moving, leaping and fighting. If she tried, it would just put her and the baby at risk. There was not much she could do in this state.

"Adrien. I'm so sorry. If I wasn't pregnant, then you wouldn't be so exhausted. I promise that when the baby comes and I recover, that I'll make it up to you" she told him determine but also guilty.

She felt his hand gently rub her stomach before grabbing her hand and bringing it to his lips, placing a soft kiss on it. "Marinette. None of this is your fault. I know you want to help. But don't think being pregnant is a burden. It's a blessing" he explained to her, placing her hand on her stomach.

"It's tiring for the both of us. But it's going to be worth it when the baby comes. That's what keeps me going through this. To stay out longer in patrol. To use the ladybug miraculous as much as possible. To watch over the team. The exhaustion I keep feeling. All of that will be worth it in the end when our little kitten comes" he explained to her, nuzzling his cheek against hers like a cat.

She returned the nuzzle, pecking his cheek with a kiss. "True. It will be worth the wait. But right now, try to get some rest. You need it" she told him as she slowly went back to sleep. She heard him softly breathing and turned her head back to see him fast asleep. She chuckled at him before she too fell asleep.
