Ladybug was on patrol, waiting for her partner. The spotted hero heard footsteps, and turned around to see Cat Noir coming. But something didn't  seem right.

Usually, he would say hi to her, or use one of his ridiculous cat puns with that smirk. But, this time, he was quiet, and loomed angry, his ears flat.

"Cat Noir, you're a bit late" she told him, watching him as he walked past her, not really looking at her.

"I know. I had a bad night ok" he told her upset, leaning on the chimney. But Ladybug stared at him, surprised by his mood. She had never seen him in such a bad mood.

Unknown to her, Cat Noir was in a bad mood because of his father. Once again, his dad had refused to let him hang out with his friends. It was getting really infuriating for him.

"Cat Noir, are you alright?" Ladybug asked worried and he felt a hand on his shoulder and the feline hero turned around, his ears flat as he glared at his partner with cat eyes all fierce and hissing. Ladybug got startled by this reaction. His expression soften when he realize he just growled at his own friend and he felt bad about it.

"Sorry it's just...I'm really upset with my dad!" Cat Noir said angrily and he froze, his ears up when he realize he just told Ladybug a part of his normal life. Ladybug stared at her partner wide eye.

'Did my partner just told me about his normal life?' She told herself in her head, surprised from what he said.

He stayed quiet and looked away from her as she looked at him worried. "Do you want talk about? I mean you can just tell me some small things" she asked him with some shyness in her voice and Cat Noir was a little surprise from that. She was usually so bold. But he felt it would be good to talk about it.

"It's my mother. I don't usually talk about it but it would be nice to share it with someone " he told her as he looked away, his eyes on Paris. 'I've only told Plagg about my mother before but Ladybug...might want to be careful not to give any hints on who I am' he said in his head as his turn led to Ladybug for a moment.

"Well my mother, she and I, we were really close. She was kind, generous, helpful and always cheerful. She even made my dad happy..." he said smiling at the thought of his mother but it faded away into sadness, his ears droopy "...but then one day something...happened and..." he paused as the hero turned around and walked towards LB as her blue eyes stare at his green cat like ones "and everything....change. Never saw her again" he finish as he remembered the day he lost his mother.

Cat Noir closed his eyes thinking of the times he spent with her. Ladybug felt sorry for him as she looked down "I'm so sorry" she told him and her hands gently caressed his face. He looked at her hand and back towards her blushing a bit from this gesture as he stared at her surprised on what she's doing.

His ears perked when she wrapped her arms around him and at first the hero froze like a cat spotting a dog but he started to wrapped his arms around. He felt her rub his back and he rested his head on her shoulder. It reminded him of when his mother use to hugged him whenever he was down...he loved it.

Ladybug lifted her head on his shoulder and looked at him"Cat Noir..." she asked him, wanting to be sure he was feeling better. He slowly parted from her hug but he held her shoulders, and they both made eye contact. "I'm feline better" he said, cheered up and using one of his puns as Ladybug smiled, glad to see him back to his usual self too.

"Thanks my Lady" Cat Noir smiled at her as he kissed her forehead making Ladybug blush pink as her eyes went down but she smiled when he did that.

"Cat Noir. If you ever need someone to talk to, I'm always here you know" she told him sounding like her Marinette self. They smiled at each other and Cat Noir stepped back, the time for patrol was over "Au voire kitty "she told him as he leaped towards a roof "Au voire my Lady" he smiled at her before leaving, feeling much better thanks to his partner. Ladybug got to her room in time and decided to take a nice nap.
