Narrator's POV

Marinette stretched her white paws out and yawned. She was waiting for her owner Alya to get home from the comic convention she was at. Curling up into a ball, she laid her blue head on her blue tipped tail.

Marinette was mostly white but had a dark blue tipped tail. Her head was mostly blue, but she has white on her nose and ears. Her shockingly blue eyes complement her fur beautifully.

Soon, Marinette drifted into a peaceful slumber. Eventually, she was awoken by the sound of a door opening. Marinette looked up from the Ladybug themed bed she was sleeping on.

"Mari! I have a surprise for you!" Alya squealed excitedly. Marinette meowed in response. The brunette held up a tiny cat sized Ladybug mask. Ladybug was Alya's favorite comic book superheroine.

"I couldn't believe it when I saw it! It was just your size! Even though it's for babies I'm sure you could fit it!" The girl eagerly started to put it on the cat. Marinette stayed put as she waited for her owner to be finished.

"There! Done! Fits like a glove!" Marinette felt safe behind her mask. Even though it there was no difference, she liked it. She purred and rubbed her head under Alya's hand, signaling her to pet her.

"I knew you would like it! You look like a cat Ladybug!" Alya exclaimed. Purring loudly, Marinette curled up by the window. Alya looked at Marinette happily. "Sweet dreams." She whispered as she left the room.

Marinette heard a soft knock on her window. Thinking it was an intruder, she growled. But when she looked over it was just a handsome black cat with vibrant green eyes. He was wearing a Chat Noir mask.

The cat purred at the sight of her. She rolled her eyes and turned her back to him as she stopped baring her fangs. He started singing in their cat language.

"There's an adorable lady over there with the purest white fur, who has caught my stare. Tonight the moon is especially bright, so why don't you and I play together outside?" He sang softly.

"Cats only live once and that's no lie! So c'mon, let loose, don't waste your life inside! Silly collars just keep you from being free! I can bite it off, sit still dear, allow me!" He continued.

"Strays have the most fun, miaou, miaou, miaou! Stealing bananas to eat and chasing all the ladybugs! Humans have to work while I can just nap without a single care in the world!" He exclaimed.

"You can be free too! Miaou, miaou, miaou! You can meet all my friends and dance the night away! Alright, take my paw, jump out that window! Just follow my lead!" He tempted.

Marinette rolled her eyes and decided to sing along her way. "There's an obnoxious stray cat over there. With glowing wide eyes that have caught me unaware." She sang.

"You walk with pride and you talk real sweet. But even thought I'm young, boy, I'm not that naïve. Cats only live once and that's no lie. That's why I live my days safely inside." Marinette sang.

"This collar means the world and more to me. If you broke it, you could never pay the fee! I am royalty! Miaou, miaou, miaou! Three delicious meals and a bed that's soft and velvety!" She sang.

"Although water's really not my favorite thing, I'm daily given baths to keep me looking clean! And unlike me, miaou, miaou, miaou, you have no one watching you to keep you safe from where you go!" Marinette teased.

"Tomorrow you could be run over by a car! And who would even know?" She finished. But all he did was purr at her accusations. "This stubbornness of yours, I find it quite lovely too." He sang back.

"In fact I think you'll find I'm only more in love with you." He stated. Marinette sang more. "Ah! Such blunt honesty! Even though it's a start... clumsy ways like that won't win my heart!"

The cat sweatdropped. "I'll tell you my dream, miaou, miaou, miaou! To leave this place and see a different scene! To fly far north away from city skies!" The black cat continued.

"I wanna see the aurora through these eyes. If you wanna be with me, miaou, miaou, miaou! We would run away, you'd finally be free! But I feel like that wish ain't coming true...." He sang.

Marinette took pity upon him and sang to him what she thought. "My lifestyle you see, miaou, miaou, miaou! Is not one that is changed so easily! My owner loves me more than the world!" She stated firmly.

"How could I break the heart of a fragile little girl? Hey, I'm not done yet!" She called as he started chasing a ladybug. "Miaou, miaou, miaou! Where do you think you're going?"

"Wait up a moment! It'd be nice tomorrow if you would come again! I'll wait for you till then...." He turned to face her to acknowledge that he heard her.

Marinette sighed as she turned to walk out of her cat door to her own room Alya made for her.
