Chapter 18: Lady Wifi Part 3

(Time Skip)

The night gave way to a new Saturday, beginning yet another weekend that seems to fly by quickly. Marinette was taking the time to gaze out at the city from her balcony, with Tikki on her shoulder.

"Is that true? You're gonna tell him? Is that what your heart's saying?" Tikki questioned, hoping that Marinette was serious about what they were referring to... which was most likely about Adrien.

"Sometimes your heart tells you one thing, but a great superhero always listens to her head," Marinette responded, knowing that she did need to listen to her head more often.

"Got it!" A voice behind Marinette exclaimed, surprising the poor girl and her kwami. Tikki flew off to hide behind her holder, as Alya climbed up onto the balcony and walked towards Marinette, which made the girl relax.

"Wanna see my new smartphone? It puts my old phone to shame! Just look at these pics!" Alya exclaimed, showing off her new phone, and ended up showing off a numerous amount of pictures of Adrien.

"Huh? What's with all these photos of Adrien?" Marinette playfully teased while she grabbed the phone so she could make an attempt to see the pictures more closely.

"Well... with a mask and a costume, don't you think he looks a little bit like Cat Noir?" Alya questioned as she showed Marinette an edited photo of Adrien she made that showed just how similar the 'two' boys looked, much to Marinette's horror.

"Are you out of your mind? He's tons more legit than Cat Noir!" Marinette exclaimed, not believing what her best friend was suggesting. As if the love of her life was the punny superhero she worked with on the daily.

"Hey! I happened to think that Cat Noir is pretty slick," Alya admitted, defending the feline hero.

"Anyway, stop taking photos of Adrien. Well, unless you give them to me, afterwards," Marinette said, right before she snatched Alya's phone from her hand, shocking the reporter.

"Give it back!" Alya exclaimed, only for Marinette to smile and start a game of chase.

"Nope!" Marinette replied as she started to play 'Keep Away' with her best friend, who matched Marinette's own grin, and ran towards her balcony hatch.

"Oh, come on, Marinette! What if you drop it? Everyone knows how clumsy you are!" Alya exclaimed, as Marinette climbed back into her room, with Alya following after. Both of them were laughing as they continued the game in the ground level of Marinette's room.

"You sound just like my brother!!" Marinette managed with a laugh. Alya stopped in her tracks at the words.

Wait... what?

"I'm sorry... brother? You have a brother?" Alya questioned, making Marinette realize what she had said... and that Alya had no idea.

"Oh yeah... I didn't tell you, did I?" Marientte asked as she held Alya's phone out to her with a nervous smile, in an attempt to smooth things over.

"Uh, I don't think so!!" Alya exclaimed as she snatched her phone back from Marinette.

"Since when have you had a brother?" The reporter asked, wanting to know everything about the brother Marinette claimed to have.

"Actually, two brothers," Marinette elaborated, shocking Alya even more to the point that she dropped her phone, and jaw dropped in disbelief.

But it only lasted a second before Alya recovered, picked up her phone, and closed the space between her and Marinette before grabbing her collar.

"Two brothers? Why haven't I met them before? Are they older, and studying abroad?" Alya questioned, quickly falling into her reporter habits, much to Marinette's fondness.

'Of course Alya would want to know as much as possible.' Marinette thought to herself.

"Yes, I technically have two brothers. The reason why you haven't met them is because, yes, they are older and are studying abroad in a sense." Marinette admitted, answering Alya's questions to the best of her ability. But it only confused Alya even more, making her let go of Marinette's collar and back up a bit.

"You... technically have two brothers, and they are technically studying abroad? How does that work?" Alya questioned, trying to piece together everything.

"It's a long story," Marinette responded, knowing that there wouldn't be enough time at the moment to explain. But it gave her an idea.

"But my brothers and I can tell you about it tonight when we have our nightly video call tonight," The designer explained, making Alya's eyes widen in excitement.

"Really? I can meet your brothers?" Alya asked, grabbing Marinette's upper arms in her excitement instead of her collar this time.

"Yep, we call each other every day at noon and night at 9pm. We can have a sleepover and you can meet them. I've even already told them about you, and they have been dying to meet you too," Marinette said, remembering how Jim and Toby found how Alya handled Pharoah so well, to be a good quality in Marinette's best friend.

Especially when Alya helped pull Marinette out of her shell, letting her grow into the wonderful woman they knew she could be. Her brother's words, not hers. Either way, they wanted to meet her as well.

"Wait, noon every day? Are they the ones you call at lunch everyday?" Alya asked, finally finding out the answer to that little mystery about her best friend.

"Yep, we set up the system a while ago. It's so we can catch up during lunch and before going to bed. Pretty much the only times we are free. So... interested?" Marinette asked with a smirk on her lips, already knowing that Alya's answer would be...

"Of course!! I just need to go home and tell my parents that I'm having a sleepover here. Not to mention get some stuff to actually spend the night here," Alya excitedly replied as she sped walked to the trapdoor and started descending down the stairs.

"Take your time, you still have a bit of time before they call," Marinette gigged, amused at Alya's excitement as the reporter went down the stairs, closing the trap door behind her.

Once the coast was clear, Tikki came out of her hiding place and floated next to Marinette.

"You're really going to introduce her to your brothers?" Tikki asked, wondering if Marinette would actually, since from what Marinette has told her about... that certain family story was not something they really talked about. Not out of embarrassment, but more out of wanting to keep it private unless they trusted who they told.

"Yes, it's about time I told her. I couldn't exactly keep the reason why I disappear during lunch a secret, especially when I let it slip out. Besides, I've been meaning to introduce her to Jim and Toby for a while. This is actually the perfect opportunity," Marinette explained as she walked to the trapdoor.

"Now all I need to do is let my parents know Alya is sleeping over," Marinette said before she disappeared under the trapdoor, closing it behind her.

Tikki, now alone, merely flew over to Marinette's loft and settled on the girl's pillow in a small spot of fading sunlight, waiting for the girl to return.

(Time skip)

Marinette had gotten permission for her and Alya's sleepover, and the reporter was currently downstairs, getting snacks ready for the sleepover that would properly take place after the video call.

So Marinette was at her desk, in her pajamas, and ready to call her brothers. She was hoping to use the time it took for Alya to get the snacks to brief her brothers about the akuma the previous day.

After the cell tower maintenance on Thursday, it had taken a while for the wifi to work properly once again, and she was sure that they saw the news about Lady Wifi by now, and were probably dying to know her side of the story. And also about her exploits the day before Alya was akumatized. So without further delay, she opened up her computer, clicked on the video call app like she had many nights in the past, and waited for Jim to answer.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Meanwhile in Arcadia, Jim and Toby were just getting out of history class and walked towards the bike racks, talking about the news they had watched that morning.

"It's crazy that Paris was in danger twice in the span of two days. I honestly don't know how Mari Fairy does it," Toby admitted as they arrived at the bike racks.

"Speaking of which, it's weird that we haven't been able to call her all this time. I hope she's okay," Jim worried as they took off their bags, sat down and pulled out their lunches.

The menu today consisted of two small barbeque pulled pork sandwiches with lettuce, tomato, and onion, with an apple and pudding cups for dessert.

"Well, she must be busy. I wouldn't blame her for falling asleep before we called her," Toby theories, right before Jim's phone rang. Jim pulled out his phone, and low and behold, it was Marinette's contact on the screen.

"Speak of the devil, she's calling right now," Jim said, holding his phone up while he and Toby pulled out their first sandwiches. Jim then hit the receive button, allowing Marinette to show up on the screen.

"We were beginning to think something had happened to you, Mari Fairy," Toby greeted before biting into his sandwich.

"Good to see you guys too. Sorry for not calling these past two days. Cell tower maintenance," Marinette explained.

"How long was it this time?" Jim asked, biting into his own sandwich. Both of them knew that the cell on Marinette's chimney takes forever to let people use the wifi after maintenance. It was a pain in the butt every time.

"Two days. Started the day before Alya was akumatized into Lady Wifi," Marinette explained nonchalantly.

"We were wondering if it was Alya that was behind the Lady Wifi mask. What happened that caused her to be akumatized?" Toby asked, taking another bite out of his sandwich, with Jim following in suit.

"Oof, where to begin," Marinette began, leaning back in her chair, and resting her hands behind her head in the process. She then regaled all she knew about Alya's akumatization, from when she was an hour late, up to when her and Chat Noir finally took her down. But when she got to when she had to use her lucky charm to free Chat Noir, and when she had to transform back after the battle, gushing about how Chat hadn't peeked into her hiding spot, the boys couldn't help but grin.

"What's with the grins?" The designer asked, wondering what was going on in their thoughts.

"Nothing, just wondering... if you really do have a crush on Chat Noir. I mean, you used your Lucky Charm to free him, risking your identity in the process," Toby pointed out, while finishing off his second sandwich, voicing what both he and Jim could see, and what Marinette was possibly denying.

"You sure you don't have feelings for him, sis?" Jim asked, as he finished off his second sandwich, which shocked Marinette.

"No! Why would you say that? You guys know I'm in love with Adrien!" Marientte exclaimed, not believing what they were saying.

"Yeah, but I still say that he's a better match for you than Adrien. You've had a crush on the blonde for how long, and he still hasn't noticed you," Jim replied, feeling like Marinette could do better than Adrien, and repeating what he had said to her on their night call after Copy Cat.

The woman had to steal the boy's phone!!! Of course he would think Adrien wasn't right for his sister if he made her think she needed to do that.

"I could say the same about Claire, Jim," Marinette argued, bringing up his weakness. Toby laughed as he bit into his apple.

"She's got you there, bro. But I'll have to go with Jim on this one. A guy that makes you think you need to steal his phone to delete an embarrassing message isn't the right guy," Toby said, much to Jim's amusement, while Marinette rolled her eyes at them.

"How was Alya afterwards?" Toby asked, wondering if Alya was okay after her akumatization.

"She's great. She even came by today and showed off her new smartphone to me. We're even having a sleepover right now," Marinette said, much to the boys' surprise as they continued eating their lunches.

"Really? Nice! Should we let you go so you guys can enjoy your sleepover? Jim asked, hoping that they were not ruining their sister's sleepover.

"Actually, I kind of let it slip earlier that I had brothers, and Alya being Alya wanted to know everything. So I told her that I would tell her everything she wants to know with you guys. Now she wants to meet you," Marinette explained, making their eyes widen at her words. If what she was saying was true, then...

"Does this mean we are finally meeting the famous Alya?" Toby asked, forgetting about his nearly finished apple and leaning in closer to Jim, nearly pushing Jim out of the way.

To say that Toby was excited to meet the girl who dealt with Marinette's antics in the romance department more than he did, was an understatement.

"Yes, and she is excited to meet you guys too," Marinette said, knowing just by his reaction, Toby was excited to have someone else know what he commonly referred to as his 'struggles' when dealing with hers and Jim's flops of romance.

He had been dealing with it alone for years, and with Marinette adding onto it that year with her crush on Adrien, it was understandable. But a second after she spoke, the trapdoor opened and Alya came up through, dressed in her pajamas, and arms full of snacks. Marinette turned her chair to face her best friend.

"Speak of the devil, here she is," The designer playfully teased before getting out of her seat, walked over to Alya, and helped her put the snacks on her chaise.

"Sorry for taking so long. Didn't know what to get, so I got everything," Alya explained, making Marinette shake her head fondly at her.

"It's okay, I'm used to it from my brothers," Marinette remarked, pointing to her computer, where Toby was smiling widely at them. Immediately, Alya's eyes widened in excitement and her lips turned into a wide grin when she saw who was on the screen.

"Are those your brothers?" Alya asked, right before she grabbed Marinette and sat the both of them in front of the computer.

"Yep, though quick question, how good is your English?" Marinette asked, to which made Alya raise her eyebrow at her in confusion.

"Uh, my English is very good," Alya answered, despite it confusing her with its seemingly randomness.

"In that case, Alya I would like to introduce you to my older brothers, Jim and Toby," Marinette introduced, gesturing to Jim and Toby on the screen, before turning to face them.

"Boys, meet Alya, my best friend," The designer continued, gesturing to Alya.

"It's nice to finally meet the girl who has gotten Marinette out of her shell," Jim greeted while finishing off his apple.

"And it's nice to finally meet Marinette's brothers," Alya replied, hoping to make a good impression. But soon, her curiosity got the better of her.

"Though, I do have to ask, how much older are you? Is English your first language? Where are you studying if you are at college, and are you fraternal twins?" Alya asked, having so many questions that needed answering for her curiosity to be satisfied.

"Well, that's why I wanted to introduce you to them. But before we start, you have to promise me something, Alya," Marinette began, placing her hands onto Alya's shoulders, and looking her dead in the eye.

"Of course, anything. What is it?" Alya asked, knowing that whatever Marinette was about to say, was really big.

"You have to promise that you will not say anything about what you are about to learn to anyone without mine, or my brother's permission," Marinette explained, which made Alya even more confused.

'What is it that Marinette was so secretive about?' Alya wondered.

"Um, yes, I promise. But I do have to ask why though," Alya asked, to which Marinette, Jim and Toby sighed at the same time.

Every time. Every single time they told people, they had to tell them why they had to keep it to themselves.

"Let's just say that this isn't something we are embarrassed about, but if Chloé or someone who can't keep their mouth shut finds out... it would not be pretty," Jim explained, much to Alya's surprise, since he had been quiet all this time. But even if the request and reason was weird, Marinette was her best friend, and she would honor hers and her brother's request.

"Okay then, I promise. Now will you please tell me what is it that you don't me blabbing about?" Alya asked, causing the three siblings to look over at each other and nod. They were all in agreement.

"Well, the truth is, when I said I technically had two brothers, I meant that Toby is my oldest friend, and that I consider him my brother," Marinette began, causing Alya's face to twist in confusion. That was it?

"So Toby isn't related to you by blood, but you consider him family?" Alya clarified, trying to get all of the facts straight on the first try.

"Yep, but that's not all," Toby continued, knowing what was going to be said next. He's been through this enough times to guess that she would ask...

"What else is there?" Alya asked, going the exact route Toby predicted she would go. Every time.

"Me and Marinette are half siblings," Jim replied nonchalantly, causing Alya's jaw to drop in shock. After saying it a few times to other people, it got easier every time.

"Want us to explain?" Marinette asked as she used her hand to close Alya's mouth. When her jaw was closed again, Alya nodded, not having the right words at the moment.

"Um yes. But quick question, Jim. How old are you?" Alya questioned, turning to face Jim as he and Toby pulled out their deserts.

"15, turning 16 this year," Jim replied right before he and Toby dug into their pudding cups.

"But I thought you said your mom and dad were married for 20 years," Alya pointed out as she looked back at Marinette, having more questions than answers.

"Did one of your parents..." The reporter began, wanting to know if her hunch was right, but didn't want to make an assumption like she did with Chloé earlier.

"No! Technically," Marinette and Jim replied at the same time, interrupting Alya so they could clear the confusion.

"What do you mean 'technically'?" Alya asked, even more confused than before.

"It all started 20 years ago. My Mom and our Dad had just gotten married." Marinette awkwardly started, explaining the story that her and Jim have had to explain before.

"My Mom and our Dad have been friends for years before he met Aunt Sabine, and she was happy that they were getting married. But a few years after the wedding, Aunt Sabine and our Dad went to Arcadia, our hometown, to celebrate my Mom's birthday. They went to a bar, and one thing led to another, they all got wasted and all ended up in bed together," Jim explained, as he ate his pudding cup, revealing the more awkward part of the story.

A long time ago, they agreed then Marinette would be the one explaining the full situation if necessary to people from Paris. But in this case he decided to be the one telling it, considering how awkward she felt.

"Now I get why you don't want Chloé to find out. No offense, but this is really weird. " Alya admitted, starting to understand their want of secrecy, but still wanted to know more.

"Yep. So after a very awkward conversation between our parents, Dad, Mom, and Aunt Barbara stayed friends. But soon after that, Aunt Barbara became pregnant," Marinette explained, continuing the story, and satisfying Alya's curiosity even more.

"Then after another even more awkward conversation, their Dad agreed to be there for Jim's Mom and him as much as he could. Then two years later, Marinette came along," Toby piped in, knowing this story by heart by now.

"As soon as she was brought home, we were inseparable. Mom even told me I slept with Marinette in her crib till she, Aunt Sabine and our Dad went back to Paris," Jim regaled as he finished his pudding cup, putting the plastic into the paper back his lunch was in.

"So after that, Jim and Marinette started to video call each other when he turned 8 and she turned 6, setting up their system that they use to this day. Marinette and her family now come over to Arcadia every summer so Tom and Marinette could spend time with Jim. One of those summers was when I joined in on the dynamic," Toby brought up, right before finishing his pudding cup, entrapping Alya in the story.

"What do you mean?" Alya asked, wanting to know more. How Toby became their honorary brother was confusing at first to say the least. Unless you knew the full story, of course

"When Jim turned 5 and I had turned 3 the week before, Toby had just moved into the house across from Jim, and they had become fast friends. When I came to visit that summer, me and Toby hit it off right away, and we've thought of each other like brother and sister ever since," Marinette responded, wanting to explain this part of the story.

"You got that right, MariFairy," Toby replied, making Marinette blush and hide her face at the nickname he used when they were talking to each other in private.

"Tobes, not in front of Alya!!" Marinette exclaimed, trying to avoid Alya's amused smile.

"MariFairy, huh? Care to explain that little nickname, Toby?" Alya asked, a sly smile on her lips, while Toby grined. He'd been waiting for this.

"Okay, there's a few reasons why I call her that. One, she had a childhood dream of becoming the 'Knitting Fairy' a magical creature who knits clothes all day long. Two, she always wore a pair of fairy wings on her back when she was 6. Three... she was so tiny as a kid, like a little fairy," Toby replied with a chuckle, making Alya's smile widen and Marinette's blush deepen.

"I was a kid, okay! But Toby insisted for the nickname to stick," Marinette explained, trying to defend what little honor she had left.

"You're still tiny," Jim remarked, making Marinette slightly irritated.

"I'M ONLY FOUR INCHES SHORTER THAN YOU!!" Marinette exclaimed as she pouted at them. But it only caused her brothers to laugh.

Whether she liked it or not, she was so cute when she was mad. Like an angry slice of pie.

"You guys done?" Marinette asked, her face deadpanned as she waited for her brothers to stop laughing.

"Yeah, we're good," They said, their laughter coming to a stop. Only for Alya to start laughing as well.

"What's so funny?" The three of them asked, only for Alya to laugh even more.

"Is... this what it's... like with all of... your video calls? If so... it's hilarious!!" Alya managed to say through her laughter, holding her gut to stop it from aching.

"Pretty much. When it's not filled with talk about romance," Toby remarked, immediately catching Alya's interest. This was her chance to find out more about Marinette's previous love life.

"Romance, huh? Does Jim have a crush on someone? Does Marinette have past crushes I should know about?" Alya asked, now getting very invested in this conversation, while Toby shook his head in fondness. Marinette did warn them about this, but he was waiting for this question for the whole call.

"Yes, Jim has a crush on a girl in our class, and no Marinette hasn't had any crushes on anyone before this year," Toby replied, shocking Alya.

'Is he serious?' Alya wondered.

"So, you mean to tell me that Marinette... my best friend... who is so boy crazy that she imagines her life with them, but can't even speak a full sentence to them... has not had a crush before Adrien!!" Alya exclaimed, looking back over at Marinette as she rubbed the back of her neck in embarrassment.

"Yep. Though for your information, I think I'm handling my first crush very well," Marinette remarked, making Alya, Jim and Toby laugh again, much to her annoyance.

"You done now?" Marinette deadpanned once more.

"You seriously think you're dealing with your crush on Adrien in a good way?" Alya asked, not believing that her best friend actually believed that.

"I'm doing a step up from my brother," Marinette argued, gesturing to Jim and making him stop laughing right away.

"He can't even talk to Claire, the girl he has a crush on, without talking in incomprehensible French, Italian, or botched Spanish! At least I don't speak another language when doing so." the designer pointed out, stating Jim was worse off than her. Alya only rolled her eyes at her best friend.

"That's up for debate. The way you talk to Adrien, I can honestly think you are speaking a different language," Alya remarked, to which Toby nodded his head in agreement.

"Now you understand my pain," Toby snarked, finding that Alya and him had more in common than he could have thought.

"Pain? You said that you find all of this entertaining," Jim brought up, quoting Toby's own words from a while ago.

"Yeah, I do find this funny for the most part. But after a while, it starts to hurt to see you guys go through this," Toby rebutted, with Alya nodding in agreement. She knew all too well what he meant.

"Tell me about it. Every time Marinette attempts to get close to Adrien, something always seems to happen. But I still can't believe that Marinette never had a crush on anyone else before. That seems a little too unbelievable," Alya admitted, still finding the situation a little too far-fetched.

"I swear on our pact as the 'Arcadia's Unlucky Trio' that I'm telling the truth," Toby promised, crossing his heart while making his claim. But his choice of words intrigued Alya even further.

"Arcadia's Unlucky Trio, huh? Care to explain that?" Alya asked. But before any of them could say anything, the bell rang.

"Looks like it will be a story for another time. We've got to get to class," Jim said, as he started to pack up his bag, with Toby following in suit.

"Aw man, seriously?" Alya griped, not wanting to stop the call.

'These guys are hilarious, Toby especially.' Alya thought to herself.

"The bell is our signal to stop the chat. Always has been," Toby explained, before looking back at the phone.

"We could exchange contact information. I honestly want to know everything that Marinette doesn't mention when it comes to her 'Adrien' exploits," The geology nut admitted, making Alya smile brightly.

"Of course! I can give it to Marinette who can give it to you. Then she can give me yours," Alya offered, finding the idea appealing, much to Marinette and Jim's fondness.

It was a bad idea to get these two to meet. Now they would have to deal with both of them finding entertainment in their love attempts.

"It was a bad idea to introduce you guys," The two half siblings said at the same time, while Jim saw that most of the other kids were heading to class.

"We got to go. Talk to you tonight Mari," Jim said, causing Toby to get closer and stand next to him so he could show up on the screen too.

"Bye you guys. See you tomorrow," Marinette farewelled as she started waving at them with Alya following in suit.

"Nice meeting you guys," Alya said, as she waved back.

"Bye girls," The boys responded, waving back before the screen turned black, the call over.

"We finally got to meet Alya! About time if you ask me, she was a riot," Toby gushed, as Jim put his phone back into his bag, and they walked towards their next class.

"Yeah, of course you would like her. She seems to be a lot like you when it comes to dealing with Marinette's flops in the love department," Jim remarked before he and Toby reached the fork in the hallway that led to their respective classes.

"See you later, Tobes," The junior chef said, as he walked towards Home Ec while Toby went towards his French class.

"See you later, Jimbo," Toby farewelled, as they headed in different directions. But while Toby was walking down the hall, his phone buzzed.

He took it out of his bag, and opened it up to see Marinette had used the group chat.

Group Chat: Arcadia's Unlucky Trio

MariFairy: (Contact info) Here's Alya's contact info. I hope you two use it wisely.

Toby laughed to himself, copied the contact info and put into a new contact for Alya on his phone. As soon as that was done, he copied his own info and put in the chat with a text to Marinette.

Group Chat: Arcadia's Unlucky Trio

Toby Pie: Thanks MariFairy. Here's my contact info for Alya (Contact info)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Back over in Paris, Marinette had gotten the text, copied the info and sent it to Alya.

"Toby sent his info, and I just texted it to you," Marinette reported as she and Alya sat on her chaise. Alya pulled out her phone, and checked to see if Marinette's text had gone through. Low and behold, the alert was on her lock screen.

"Thank you," Alya said before copying the info, and putting into a new contact for Toby on her phone. After that, she put her phone away and looked back at Marinette.

"So... Arcadia's Unlucky Trio... What's with that? You have a dark past I should know about?" Alya teased/questioned, making Marinette giggle. Leave it to Alya to have her curiosity get the better of her.

"Like Jim said, that's a story for another time," Marinette responded, knowing that Alya would absolutely hate that answer, but said it anyway to just be mean.

"Oh come on girl!!" Alya pleaded, wanting to know the story behind the name. But Marinette wasn't budging.

"I'm not talking. Now how about we start our sleepover?" Marinette asked, making Alya slump a bit when she didn't get her answers, but nodded.

"Yeah, okay. Now what movies have you got?" Alya asked. Mariettte smiled and grabbed some of the moves she had on hand.

"Okay, it's a choice of How to Train Your Dragon, Tangled, Brave, or Kung Fu Panda 2," Marinette listed, holding out the four movies to Alya.

"I'm thinking... How to Train your Dragon. I haven't seen it yet," Alya said, shocking Marinette. She really hadn't seen it?

"Well, we are changing that right now!" Marinette exclaimed, right before putting the other movies down on her desk. She then placed How to Train Your Dragon into her computer's dvd player, and the movie started.

The girl only had a few seconds to sit down with Alya and start digging into the snacks before the movie went through the beginning titles and actually started, leaving the two girls in silence as they watched the movie together.
