Chapter eighteen

"Wow dude!" Adrien said as he walked near me and Alya.

He pointed the small bandaid on the corner of my mouth and grinned.

"Did things get a little spicy?" He said, wiggling his eyebrows.

I blushed and started yelling at how, Alya and I were pure human beings and not savage beasts.

He took my shoulder and turned me around, away from Alya.

"How did it go?" He asked.

"We're a thing bro." I said, handing him a bro-fist.

Then Marinette arrived and started chit-chatting with Alya, the four of use went to class as usual. Even tho things were really tense.

Today was the day. The day we would attack hawkmoth.

*Adrien POV*

I walked around the building without making a sound, i could distinguishe Marinette's slender figure walking slowly before me. We reached the spot. It was a low window, easily accessible by the outside. Marinette turned around to face me and we both nodded, everything was going according to plan. I bended down and helped her onto my shoulder. I tried hard not to blush and stay concentrated but i was distracted by a certain raven haired girl wiggling above me.

I looked at her pale hands, cutting the glass and sliding her hand inside, opening the look by the inside. She quietly opened the window and hopped inside. I waited a few minutes before seeing a small hand, offering me to join her. I took her hand and jumper inside. As i did, we both nearly fell over but my quick reflexes kicked in and i wrapped an arm around her waist, preventing her from falling. We both blushed under our colored mask but quickly let go. I looked around. My knight vision helped me see through the darkness. I took her hand and guided her towards the door.

We ended up on what looked like an inside balcony, showing the room with the two butterfly tanks. A tall man, was writing notes as he walked in circles in the room.

He threw his papers on the floor and sweared.

"Why are they not at the club" He yelled.

I smiled, he was clueless.

As planned, i jumped of the platform leaving Marinette as backup.

The man turned towards us and smile.

"I've been waiting for you.." He said, a huge grin crossing his face.

I gaped in astonishment as he was completely aware of use being here and was completely calm about it. That was not good. He must have guessed our plan, but how?

I leaned one foot behind the other, my hands protecting my face. I was ready.

"Bring it on, hawkmoth." I said as i smiled.

He smiled and raised one hand in the air. With a graceful movement he snapped his fingers. Suddenly, a sea of people appeared around me.

The were all in combat outfits and were waiting for a signal. I took one deep breath and attached.

I jumped on a little girl with pink hair and a black outfit. She grinned and sprayed some nasty smell into my face. My eyes started to water but i blinked a few times before going back in, fists first.

I easily took her down, her smell was revolting but she was week. As i slammed a last punch. She fell to the ground, disappearing in purple mist.

I turned around, looking at my other opponents. I started with the hardest.

I ran towards a tall and muscular man with a black and red outfit. I tried punching him but he blocked my attack by closing his strong fingers over my fist. He clenched his hand, making my finger crack and punched me strongly in the stomach. I felt horrible pain in my stomach as i coughed out some blood. He was a tough one. I wiped my mouth before going in again. I punched hard and fast. Head, arms, stomach. Kick in the legs. As i saw his body lean backwards, i jumped over him and secured him with my body weight, constantly punching his face. He finally screamed in pain before disappearing as well. I stood back up. I looked threw the room, counting my enemies.

They all grimaced at the same time and jumped over me. I tried my best to protect myself but i felt a few attacks drop all over my body. I tried ûnching them kicking them away, but no could do. They were way too much.

I looked over to the platform i had left Marinette on, wondering were the hell she was while i was struggling to survive under a montaine of attackers.

"I could use some help here." I said sarcastically.

Suddenly, my blood froze in my veins. There i saw Marinette, her eyes shimmering with fear as a tall woman slid a knife under her jaw. The attacker laughed evilly as she flicked her blond hair over her shoulder.

"It's over losers!" she said.

Then i blanked out. I felt like everything around me went very slow and blurry. My usually green eyes turned blood red as I looked at the girl i loved being threatened to death. Suddenly, i felt immense speed and strength envelop my body as i pushed all the people piling up over me.

I felt myself breathe faster and louder. I couldn't think straight anymore. My mind and thoughts were racing before me, my body moved on it's own. I felt like i had been possessed by a new form of strength.

Without thinking, i jumped in Marinette's direction, unaware of the physically impossible jump i had just accomplished. I took the blond by surprise as i wrapped my clawed fingers around her neck. I took the thin knife that had been dropped to the floor and forced it inside her abdomen, ignoring the nauseous sounds of her stomach being cut and her cries for help. She disappeared beneath, leaving me with a knife in my hand and blood all over my clothes. I felt my breathing go back to normal and my senses come back to me as i was know fully in control of my actions.

I turned around, facing Marinette.

She smiled as warm tears formed in the corner of her eyes. She jumped in my arms and held me tightly.

"Thank you." she managed to whisper.

I smiled. Thankful she was still alive. I then felt a killing pain rip my shoulder as i stiffened. She looked at me, confused, before I fell in her arms, the pain in my shoulder fading to my hole body; someone must have shot some kind of drug at me...

I felt my vision blurr for the second time. I felt Marinette lay me against the wall as my vision cleared the room. I could see the monsters waiting for us beneath. The last thing i could make out was Marinette caress my cheek and walk towards the battlefield. I wanted to grab her hand, pull her as far as possible from the blood bath she was headed too, but... i couldn't. As much as my mind shouted, my body didn't move and my lips stayed sield. I closed my eyes after seeing Marinette turn around and smile. Then everything went dark.
