2. Magika

Jimin wakes up the next morning to find that both his parents were up all night fixing their soon to be bakery. He sees both of them sprawled across the kitchen floor with blankets and pillows stacked around them.

It's a cute sight, so much so that Jimin can't resist. He snaps multiple photos in different angles and makes a mental note to print them afterwards.

"Mom, Dad," Jimin kneels down and shakes both of them awake. "Wake up."

"Hn," His father waves Jimin off and tosses on the floor. "Let us sleep, Min."

Jimin laughs and gently drapes a blanket over both of their bodies. He smiles when his dad wraps an arm around his mother's waist.

Afterwards, Jimin walks into the kitchen to find that most of their appliances from Busan are placed inside. He eyes the fridge and sees photos stuck on it with magnets. One of them was of him and his childhood friends.

Jimin stares for a bit and opens the fridge. He's surprised to see nothing inside— no food or pastry ingredients at all. Turning around, he sees his parents fast asleep on the floor.

This makes Jimin think for quite a bit. He isn't going to school until next week so there's nothing to do. Most of the soon to be bakery is tidied up but lacks some furniture and design.

Jimin snaps his fingers when he comes up with an idea. "Painter Jimin, it's time for a comeback!"

Right when Jimin steps outside to fetch paint, he spots something odd. There are some people clustered into the corner of the street across his house. He stares and thinks if it's worth checking out.

Jimin cautiously approaches and sees petals and feathers flying. The audience reacts in wonder. He tries to see what's happening but is too short to get a good view.

"Darn genes," Jimin whispers under his breath with an accent. He taps the nearest person hesitantly. "Uh, excuse me?"

He turns around and Jimin only now realizes how tall he is. He has combed back blonde hair and shoulders too broad for his imagination. The man's gaze was... off. His eyebrow was raised with lips curled into a not so subtle scowl.

"Ugh, don't touch me," The blonde man spoke and rolled his eyes. "Look at your hands. At least clean up."

Rude. Jimin squints his eyes as the blonde turns away with a loud huff. He's about to go off when he notices someone standing next to him, a girl with ponytailed orange hair who's clinging to the blonde. There are round lensed glasses on the tip of her nose.

She's mouthing something to him. Jimin takes a bit to realize what she's saying— I'm sorry, please don't bother him.

Jimin huffs. As much as he wants to give this rude blonde ass a piece of his mind, he doesn't want to make a scene a day into living in Seoul. So he turns around instead and walks to the other side of the crowd.

This time, Jimin is careful in choosing who to ask. He pauses when he spots a guy who looks his age snapping photos of whatever is going on in the midst of the crowd.

"Uhm, excuse me?," Jimin asks and slowly taps the guy's shoulder.

The guy turns around. His expression is a lot softer compared to the blonde's. There's a camera in his hands with a purple strap around his neck.

"Oh," He says simply. "Are you the one who moved in?"

Jimin blinks before his eyes widen. "Uh, yeah? How did you know that?"

Brown haired camera guy grins. His smile is boxy. "You're a new face and I practically know everyone in these parts. Flour might be a clue, too."

"Flour?," Jimin looked down and yelped when he noticed that his hands are caked in flour. "Gah! No wonder he called me dirty!"

"Huh?," Camera guy raises an eyebrow. "Who called you dirty?"

Jimin doesn't say anything for a while. He stares at the camera guy and notices that there's a name printed on his staff— Taehyung. Huh, for some reason that sounds familiar.

"Oh, it's nothing," Jimin claps his hands together until the flour is gone. "Don't worry about it. I'm Jimin, by the way."

When Jimin extends his hand, Taehyung's grin grows wider. He grips it tightly and Jimin is bothered by the huge difference between their hand sizes.

"Taehyung!," He says with that bug grin still on his face. "Blogger and photographer, at your service."

Jimin laughs at the enthusiasm and attempts to peek through the crowd again. "What's with the commotion?"

"Oh, it's Anne!," Taehyung cheers. "She's the street magician who performs daily at this street! Her skills are off the charts, you have to see."

Without much warning, Taehyung grabs Jimin by the wrist and pulls him deeper into the crowd. He almost feels like suffocating then they finally reach the other side.

At the center of the crowd was Anne, presumably the street magician. She's tall, definitely older than Jimin, and has dark hair with blonde highlights. Her costume is old fashioned and has a striking similarity to that one Sailor Moon character.

"Her name's Anne?," Jimin asks curiously.

"Yep!," Taehyung nods excitedly as je takes more pictures. "Apparently she's from Europe and performed magic there too! Which makes her like, ten million times cooler!"

Jimin can't help but smile at all the energy Taehyung radiates. He turns back towards Anne and watches in awe as she expertly spins her staff around. There are sparkles shooting off from both tips.

The crowd claps. Jimin does too. "That's so cool!"

"Right?," Taehyung snaps more pictures. "She performs for free too, doesn't accept donations."

Wow. Jimin is intrigued. He watches as Anne twirls her top hat and taps it once with her staff. A pair of doves suddenly fly out from inside and perch on both of her shoulders.

Anne twirls her staff again and gestures at the crowd. A little girl walks to her excitedly. The magician taps her staff for a bit and swings it high. Suddenly, there's a beautiful bouquet of flowers at its tip.

Jimin claps in amazement. Anne bows and gives the little girl the bouquet. She happily walks back into the crowd. Then she twirls her staff again and slams it to the ground. Firecrackers shoot out and explode in the sky.

Anne takes her hat off and bows deeply as the crowd cheers loudly. Jimin is disappointed that he won't be able to see more tricks from her.

"Don't worry," Taehyung softly taps Jimin's back. "She'll be back next week."

The crowd cheers. "Encore! Encore!"

Anne laughs and puts her hat back on. She waves endearingly. "Thank you so much for all the support. I enjoyed performing with such an amazing crowd today!"

"Boring!"

The crowd grows silent at the voice. Jimin narrows his when he sees the people part like the Red Sea. A familiar blonde man basically struts to Anne with crossed arms. Behind him is that ginger haired girl.

Now that Jimin has a closer look, he realizes that this blonde is dressed rather... differently compared to the rest. He's wearing designer clothes, the way the cloth shines and shimmers is telling. There's a little pouch attached to his belt with the logo of Channel on it.

"I will never understand you lowlives' idea of entertainment," The blonde scoffs and pulls out his phone. He types away. "How is pulling out random things from a hat supposed to be fun?"

"It's him again!," Jimin hisses under his breath. "It's that rude guy! First he calls me dirty and now!"

Taehyung only glances at Jimin but he doesn't look as worked up. He sighs loudly. "Not surprised."

Jimin is about to ask what Taehyung means when the blonde speaks up again. Everyone's eyes are on him and there's a very thick tension in the air.

"I, Kim Seokjin, son of Mayor Kim Hwangju, declare this magic show to be distasteful! Utterly! Distasteful! Such an eye sore to be around my father's beautiful city. Why is a fraud like you even here? Fooling all these stupid people, psh, almost makes me sad."

Truthfully, Jimin's brain hurts just from hearing those words. He turns towards Taehyung but finds him a little... unbothered by what's happening. In fact, everyone else is too.

"I'm so sorry for disappointing you, Seokjin," Anne says slowly, unsurely. She strokes one of the doves on her shoulders. "If you'd like, I can show you—"

"Don't bother," Seokjin waves his hand sideways and rolls his eyes. "Someone as basic as you won't have any impressive tricks. Doves? Meh. Firecrackers? Boring. I suggest you try my suggestion instead: disappearing."

The crowd murmurs but none of them do anything to stop Seokjin. Jimin grits his teeth and attempts to lunge forward but is stopped by Taehyung, who grabs his wrist tightly.

"Let go of me," Jimin whispers.

Taehyung stares, expression suddenly serious. "It's not worth it."

Jimin grumbles under his breath when he realizes that Taehyung is right. He watches in fury as Seokjin steps closer to Anne, who obviously doesn't know how to react.

Anne yelps when Seokjin suddenly snatches her staff. "H-Hey! Give it back!"

Seokjin just laughs and stares at the staff in his hands. "Seems to be the best trick in the book, right Eun Kyung?"

Eun Kyung, the ginger, nods hesitantly. "Uh, yes! Of course, Jinnie!"

"You!," Seokjin's smirk fades into a scowl. He takes a deep breath. "Don't call me that in public."

"Oh right," Eun Kyung retreats and hides behind Seokjin's broad figure. "Sorry."

Seokjin sighs again and examines the staff. There's a silence until he suddenly throws the staff to the ground. Some gasp, others turn away. Anne looks horrified.

"What utter trash," Seokjin cackles. "You don't deserve to perform in my streets."

"If you hate it so much then why come here to watch?," Jimin speaks up.

Taehyung is surprised but doesn't stop him. Jimin's teeth are gritted, hands balled to fists as they tremble. A look of shock spreads across the crowd.

Seokjin stares at Jimin and scans his figure. His eyes flick up, down, up down. Then he releases a loud scoff and rolls his eyes.

"Oh, it's flour boy," Seokjin chuckles. "Nice to see that you've cleaned up a bit."

"You can't just go around and step on other people's happiness!," Jimin hisses and steps forward. "Anne loves doing magic and we enjoy watching it! Who gives you the right to shit on that?!"

The crowd gasps loudly. Seokjin's lips curl into a scowl as his eye twitches. "How dare you speak to me like that? Do you know who I am?"

"I just moved in so frankly, I don't," Jimin cracks a grin. "And I plan to keep it that way."

Seokjin releases some sort of squeal and his eyes twitch again. He looks like he's about to go off when Eun Kyung lightly tugs his sleeve.

"Let's go home, Seokjin," Eun Kyung whispers. "Don't you have that thing to do with your mom?"

There's a silence as Seokjin stares at Eun Kyung. He clicks his tongue and yanks his arm away from the ginger.

"Stop clinging," Seokjin hisses.

Jimin is pissed, not only because he's just been ignored but also because Anne is close to tears. He's about to approach Seokjin when Taehyung actually stops him this time.

"It's not a good idea to make a scene here," Taehyung says and gestures to the crowd.

Then Jimin realizes that most of the crowd has their phones out and are recording most of what's going on. Seokjin relishes in this, he can tell by the big smile across his face.

Anne slowly picks up her staff and gives Seokjin a weak smile. "I understand. If that is what you think, Seokjin, then I shall leave at once."

"Wait!," Jimin exclaims without much thought. "You can't just do what she says!"

"Oh, shut up," Seokjin types away on his phone. "Good choice, you witch. A disappearing act will be great. You know who I'll call if I still see you here tomorrow right?"

Anne is silent for a bit then she nods in defeat. "Of course."

"Psh, what a weakling. Let's go, Eun Kyung."

"Y-Yes, Seokjin!"

After Seokjin and Eun Kyung leave, the crowd murmurs and eventually disperses. Anne is left on the ground in tears. She clutches the staff tightly in her hands.

Jimin takes a deep breath and approaches Anne. He kneels down next to her and gently places a hand on her shoulder. Taehyung stares from behind them.

"I'm sorry about what happened," Jimin says. "But you don't have to listen to him."

Anne sighs and brings the staff close to her chest. "It's alright. I'm used to being thrown in and out of cities. Even my hometown..."

"I thought you moved out, miss?," Taehyung asks and steps closer.

"No," Anne shakes her head somberly. "The people in my village believed in sorcery. When they saw my magic, they casted me out."

"That sounds like utter bullshit," Taehyung grumbles. Jimin gives him a look. "What?"

Anne laughs and stands with both Taehyung and Jimin's help. "I tried more rural places but they got fed up with me. When I moved out to Asia, I was hoping people would appreciate my magic more but..."

"We do, Anne," Taehyung says reassuringly. "You've seen the crowds. We love your show!"

"Yes, I know," Anne nods. Her hands shake. "But if the mayor's son wants me gone, there's nothing I can do about it."

Taehyung just sighs and Jimin feels his anger reach its boiling point. But Taehyung stops him again by raising a hand over his chest.

"Taehyung, you've got one brave friend," Anne speaks softly, her eyes glassy with tears. "A new face here who stood up to the mayor's son... I wish I could be as courageous as you."

Jimin thinks its weird to hear that kind of compliment from someone older than him. Still, he smiles and bows deeply at Anne.

"You really don't have to leave," Jimin says after bowing.

Anne keeps the smile on her face as she gathers her things. She grabs the magic box and bows. "Thank you for enjoying my performance, even if just for a while."

Before Jimin can say anything, Anne leaves. He watches her walk away slowly into the streets and feels his anger rise again. Taehyung stands quietly behind him.

"I know what you're going to say," Taehyung says. "Going against Seokjin means going against the mayor himself."

"So if you get picked on, there's nothing you can do but follow?"

"Basically."

Jimin grits his teeth. The perfectly crafted image of Seoul that's been in his head for years shatters almost immediately. Suddenly all the thoughts of beautiful gardens and glamorous people are gone.

"It's unfair, I know," Taehyung sighs ad lets his camera hang over his chest. "But hey, don't beat yourself up over it. You're new! I bet you're dying to explore the place."

Although Jimin is pissed, he knows Taehyung is right. "You willing to be my guide?"

"Of course!," Taehyung cheers and throws an arm over Jimin's shoulder. "You know what, Jimin? I think this is the start of a beautiful friendship."

After Jimin quickly texts his parents about being out, Taehyung literally drags him across the streets of Seoul. It's something that gets the negative thoughts out of his mind, even for a little while.

That's how Jimin learns how passionate Taehyung really is when it comes to photography. Soon, he's being toured around museums and is lectured about framed pieces and their photographers as if he was with a professional curator.

Jimin sees a lot of things, the beautiful side of Seoul, as what Taehyung says. He's so caught up in the views that he doesn't notice all the pictures being taken of him until he was informed.

"These are some pretty good shots," Jimin exclaims as Taehyung goes through the photos in his camera.

"Why thank you," Taehyung puts on a cocky grin. "I only learned from the best."

When Jimin learns about Taehyung's family tree of artists, he tells his own history, of how his parents and grandparents are both bakers, same with his aunts and uncles.

"So flour is in your blood?"

"Literally what are you even talking about."

Jimin doesn't even realize that it's the middle of the afternoon until he sees the sun reach its peak in the sky. He feels regretful, especially with all the fun he's having, but he doesn't want to worry his parents by being out too late.

"Taehyung, I have to go," Jimin says as he scoops up the last of his ice cream.

"Same here, bud," Taehyung still has a huge grin on his face. "Thanks for keeping me company. Not everyone has patience for my art babbling."

"I think it's endearing," Jimin smiles and taps the plastic spoon in his empty cup. "It's nice to have something you're passionate about."

"Exactly!," Taehyung stands up excitedly. "Finally, someone who gets it!"

Jimin laughs as he stands up as well. He reaches out to grab Taehyung's hand. "Thank you so much for this day. It was so fun!"

"No sweat," Taehyung says excitedly. "You have my number, right? Ring me up and we can hang as long as we like."

When Jimin goes home and glances at the printed picture of him and Taehyung smiling together, he realizes that he's made his first real friend in Seoul.

His parents think so too and more than happy about the news. Jimin yelps when his mother crushes him in a tight hug.

"Look at you, making friends already!," His mother cries. "I'm so happy!"

"Yeah, mom," Jimin taps his mother's shoulder. "Uh, can't breathe—"

His mother laughs and pulls away. She holds Jimin's shoulders tightly. "I'm so glad that you're adjusting well, sweetie."

"Me too, mom," Jimin sighs in relief. "Me too."

All the anger Jimin felt from this morning is gone. Now he's full of happy thoughts and excitement in meeting Taehyung again. Just as he walks up the stairs, his phone buzzes in his pocket.

It's a text from Taehyung that says— Hello, honorary best friend. Jimin can't take the smile off his face.

Jimin shuts the door as he enters his bedroom. He freezes after he turns on the lights and sees that his room is a mess. His great mood disappear as soon as he registers what he's looking at.

Most of Jimin's things are strewn across his bedroom. His cabinet doors are wide open and his clothes are scattered on his bed. All of his socks are inside out and he doesn't even want to talk about what happened to his underwear.

"What the hell," Jimin is out of breath. "Did someone break in?!"

Jimin takes a deep breath and runs both his hands through his hair. He thinks of what to do and the consequences that come with it— Telling his parents? No, they'd freak out.

"I have to check through my stuff first," Jimin mutters under his breath and dives into his pile of clothes.

Not even five minutes pass before Jimin hears a loud thump from inside one of his cabinets. He freezes and a thousand thoughts of inevitable death suddenly enter his mind.

Jimin jumps when the thump repeats. He glances around and realizes that it's coming from his dresser. For a moment, he wonders whether approaching it is a good idea or not.

"Oh my God," Jimin inhales. "What if it's a ghost?! Or a rat?!"

There's another thump and Jimin actually falls off his bed in shock. He pushes the jeans off his head and sees his dresser cabinet rattle.

Jimin gulps and takes another deep breath. "Okay Park Jimin, you can do this. Just open the cabinet and toss whatever is in there out the window."

The steps towards the dresser feels like hours to Jimin. Once he eventually reaches the cabinet, he shuts his eyes and pulls it open. The thumping stops immediately.

Jimin mustered up all his courage to open his eyes. When he does, he has to blink multiple times to register what he's looking at. Amongst his other jewelry is that strange box from yesterday, where he found those ladybug earrings.

What's even stranger is what's inside. The jewelry box opens to reveal some kind of fairy... thing. It looks like a little ladybug with small limbs and those thin antennas.

"Where is it?!," The thing speaks with a small voice. "It should be in here!"

Oh, it hasn't seen me. Jimin thinks if he should fetch his bug spray but also thinks of how small and cute it is. Almost looks harmless, if not for the mess his room is currently in.

Jimin doesn't think much and opens his mouth. "Uhm, hello."

The thing freezes and turns around slowly. Jimin sees its big blue eyes before both of them start to scream loudly. At one point the jewelry box is thrown right at his face.

Jimin is unable to dodge it and ends up getting a heavy box to the nose. He falls to the ground on his ass and groans in pain.

"Oh no, I'm so sorry!," Its little voice squeaks in worry. "Are you okay? Please tell me you didn't break anything."

"Other than my probably bruised ass cheek, I think I'm fine," Jimin replies with a small smile.

A silence passes as Jimin and the floating fairy red spotted thing stares back at him. His mind buffers as he slowly realizes the situation.

"Hold on!," Jimin screeches and crawls backwards until he's leaning on the bathroom door. "What the hell are you?!"

The thing laughs a bit before it smiles. "My name is Tikki! Nice to meet you, Park Jimin."

"Nice to meet you, Tikki, I'm— Wait, why do you know my name?!"

"It was on one of your jackets."

Jimin thinks until he realizes what Tikki is talking about. "Oh— wait! What are you? And why are you here?!"

Tikki doesn't say anything for a bit. Her eyebrows (were they?) scrunch together and Jimin can tell that she's thinking deeply.

"I'm a kwami," Tikki says after a while with an absolutely innocent tone. "And I'm looking for a pair of earrings. Have you seen one by any chance?"

A kwami? What the heck is a kwami? The way Tikki says it makes Jimin wonder if it's supposed to be common knowledge. Suddenly he feels dumb.

"Seeing that you've gone through all my things and still haven't found it," Jimin hisses slightly. "What kind of earrings are you looking for?"

"I'm sorry for the mess," Tikki whines. Her little voice squeaks. "I was panicking. Those ladybug earrings are really important to me."

Ladybug earrings? Wait. Jimin reaches up to touch his earrings as all the dots connect in his head. He internally panics as Tikki stares.

"Uhm," Jimin laughs awkwardly. "Do you mean these?"

When Jimin points at his studs, Tikki releases another shrill scream. She flies around the room in a panic and almost looks like a red blur in his eyes.

"Oh no! Oh no!," Tikki squeals. "This is bad! This is bad!"

"Eh? Tikki?"

"Did they glow?," Tikki suddenly asks and flies extremely close to Jimin's face.

"Uh," Jimin pauses and thinks. "They did after I wore them?"

Tikki screams again and this time Jimin's ears actually hurt from the high pitch. She flies around and picks up the jewelry box on the ground. There's a ladybug logo on its cover— wait, was that always there?

"Oh no, oh no!," Tikki panics. "That means the miraculous is yours now!"

"Miraculous?," Jimin questions out loud unintentionally. "What's a miraculous? Wait, what's going on?"

Tikki pauses and faces Jimin. Her lips form a tight smile as she slowly places the jewelry box to the floor. Then she gently sits on one of his knees.

"Jimin?," Tikki asks slowly. "Was there a note inside this box?"

"Yeah, there was," Jimin answers without hesitation. He pulls the note out of his pocket. "Here, kept it for safekeeping."

Tikki looks hesitant but she ends up taking the note anyways. She reads it slowly and suddenly she's weeping. Jimin can feel the tiny tears drip onto his knee.

"Uh, hey," Jimin taps the top of Tikki's head. "Are you... okay?"

"I just really miss Mari," Tikki cries into the note.

Jimin doesn't know what to say. He thinks for a bit and wonders what the connection between Tikki and the former house owner is. As much as he wants to ask, he doesn't into pry in the topic as of now.

Tikki hums in surprise when Jimin slowly cups the little kwami in his hands. He walks up to one of his untouched cabinets and opens it. Inside is a stash of candies and chocolate bars.

"I'm surprised you haven't touched these," Jimin laughs lightly and brings Tikki closer to the stash. "Choose one."

Tikki looks up at Jimin. "Any that I want?"

"Mhm," Jimin nods. "You can have this whole stash too."

In that moment, Tikki's eyes sparkle. She carefully folds the note on his dresser before diving into the candy stash. When she resurfaces, she's chewing on a red velvet cookie.

"Good choice," Jimin coos. "You've got taste, little kwami."

"Thank you, Jimin," Tikki says in the midst of chewing. "I honestly thought you'd kick me out."

"With the way you nibble on that cookie? Nah, you're harmless," Jimin reaches up to the earrings and attempts to take one of. "Here, I'll give you back these earrings."

"Wait, you can't," Tikki swallows. "They're yours now."

Jimin scrunches his eyebrows and lowers his hands. "What do you mean?"

Just when Tikki opens her mouth to explain, Jimin's phone suddenly buzzes loudly in his pocket. He takes it out and blinks in shock at the big red exclamation point that flashes on his screen.

"What's that?," Tikki asks with her face full of crumbs.

Jimin hesitantly swipes the screen. "It's an emergency broadcast."

A news broadcast flashes on Jimin's screen. Tikki flies curiously and perches on his shoulder, cookie still in her little hands.

"We just received reports that Seoul is currently under attack!," The reporter announces in panic. "Witnesses say that there are flocks of doves attacking people!"

"Doves?," Jimin questions. "Sounds like fake news to m—"

Before Jimin can even finish his sentence, he hears loud thumping from his balcony. He turns around and screeches when he sees a flock of doves bashing their beaks on the glass. Tikki squeals.

"What the hell?!," Jimin yells. "What's going on?!"

As if the reporter hears Jimin, she continues. "We just received reports that there is supposedly someone attacking the city hall! It seems to be a magician!"

Jimin pulls the curtains closed and leans on the window. He turns around and sees that Tikki isn't as worked up or as terrified as he is.

"Tikki?!," Jimin yelps when he hears the doves continue to attack. "Why are you so calm?!"

Tikki just floats there silently. There's an anxious smile on her face as she places the half-eaten cookie on the dresser and flies towards Jimin.

"He's back," Tikki says simply. "Hawkmoth is back."

"Hawkmoth?," Jimin pauses when the doves slam into the window. He feels the force on his back. "Who's Hawkmoth? Tikki, what's going on?"

Tikki doesn't say anything for a while. She flies low and Jimin instinctively cups his hands together. The small kwami gently sits on his palms.

"Jimin," Tikki says slowly, expression suddenly stern. "You have to use the miraculous. It's the only way to defeat these super villains."

Jimin glances at his phone's screen. The device is on the floor and he can vaguely see the video feed of that so called magician attacking the city.

And a billion questions enter Jimin's head at that point— Super villains are real? Why are they attacking Seoul? And why now, a day after he moved in?

"I don't understand, Tikki," Jimin says as he sits on the floor. "What's a miraculous? Who's Hawkmoth? And how am I supposed to stop whoever is attacking the city?"

Screams cut off Tikki before she can answer. Jimin panics when he realizes that his parents are freaking out downstairs. Then he hears loud flapping of wings inside the house.

"Those earrings," Tikki finally says. "They're the ladybug miraculous. I'm the kwami that comes with it."

Jimin would find it hard to believe if not for the fact that there's a floating little mythical creature called a kwami right in front of him. He raises his hand to touch the studs in his ears.

"Listen to me, Jimin," Tikki flies closer. "Your miraculous is the only one amongst all that can defeat Hawkmoth and his evil akumas."

Akumas? All the new vocabulary is making Jimin's head spin. "Uhm, so I guess I should give it back—"

"There's no need," Tikki says gently and taps Jimin's hand. "They're yours now so you have to use it. Use its powers."

Jimin's mind blanks out for a few seconds. He's about to laugh then he sees the completely serious look on Tikki's face. She isn't joking at all.

"Powers?," Jimin questions instead. "How can a pair of earrings give me powers?"

There's a sudden loud explosion from outside. Jimin loses his balance and nearly breaks his nose when he falls to the ground face first. His phone buzzes even more.

"The magician has just released an insane amount of fireworks! Some of the buildings have caught on fire!"

This is a dream, it has to be. Jimin clutches his head as the information hits him all at once. Tikki is still floating in front of him, waiting.

"I can't be a superhero!," Jimin wails and flails his arms. "I don't know how!"

"You can't just know how to be a superhero," Tikki giggles a bit. "You learn."

"But why me?," Jimin points at himself. "All I can do is paint and bake. Okay, I may have a black belt but that doesn't help!"

"The miraculous won't end up with you if you don't have what it takes," Tikki squishes both of Jimin's cheeks together. "Please, Jimin. You're the only one who can save Seoul."

Jimin can't believe this and wishes he's dreaming. Having a responsibility as huge as this in a city he just moved into— it's weighing him down, pinning him to the ground.

"I don't have a choice, do I?," Jimin buries his face in his hands.

"I'm sorry, Jimin," Tikki speaks sadly. "I know how much pressure there is in being the ladybug miraculous holder."

Jimin sighs. He lets Tikki sit on his palms as he stands up. "Can you at least brief me on what I'm supposed to do?"

"No time," Tikki shakes her head. "After you transform, check the yoyo on your belt. There's a user guide."

"Transform?," Jimin blinks.

Tikki nods and flies away from Jimin's palms. She floats in front of him and gestures at him to stand closer. He does as told and suddenly feels like he's being proclaimed as some kind of knight.

"Park Jimin, my name is Tikki," Tikki spreads her little arms wide. "I am the kwami of the ladybug miraculous. Accept this offer and you will be granted the power of creation! Will you accept the responsibility of saving Seoul from more super villains to come?"

Jimin takes a deep breath. As much as he wants to decline, he knows that he doesn't really have a choice. He hears the doves continue to slam its beaks on the window. His parents scream from downstairs.

"I accept," Jimin sighs. "God, I'm going to regret this."

"You won't," Tikki giggles. "Transforming is fun! Now say this— Tikki, spots on!"

"Uh, okay," Jimin speaks without thinking. "Tikki... spots on?"

Jimin yelps when Tikki suddenly twirls in the air. She turns into a cloud of sparkling red mist and enters one of his earrings. For a moment, nothing happens— then he feels something tingle from deep down inside.

It's sudden and strange. Jimin knows that he's about to transform and put on his new superhero suit and what other way is there? He's doing it in style.

Jimin crosses both of his hands over his face. He swings them down and a ladybug patterned mask appears over his eyes. Everything after that is a blur— disappointing, really.

When Jimin comes to, he's wearing a ladybug suit that's definitely spandex. It's so tight that it feels like a second layer of skin. He glances at his reflection and grins.

Jimin examines his costume. It's ladybug patterned like his mask but his hands, feet, shoulders and sides have black streaks. Not to mention that his studs are no longer silver but are now ladybug patterned as well.

"I've got to admit, Tikki," Jimin says as he touches his mask. "This is pretty cool."

Tikki doesn't say anything, even in his head, which makes Jimin think that she can't talk while he's in this suit. He looks at his reflection again and sees a ladybug patterned yoyo on his hip.

"This must be what Tikki is talking about," Jimin takes the yoyo and flips it open. Its screen glows and commands flash on it. "Oh, user's guide."

Before Jimin can even read anything, the reporter screams from his phone. "The city hall is being attacked! It's the mayor's son! He's been taken hostage!"

Jimin pauses and thinks. He remembers the incident this morning and realizes that it's Seokjin, that arrogant blonde who's been taken hostage. It makes him wonder if he should rescue him or not.

But then Jimin sees his earrings pulse. He can almost hear Tikki's voice in his head— Save him, it's your responsibility.

"Ugh, fine," Jimin groans and walks towards the window. "Only because I have to."

Jimin opens the curtains and sees the doves still pecking the glass. He glares at the birds and they all freeze. It doesn't take much for them to fly away.

When Jimin steps into the balcony, he sees the chaos. Flocks of doves are flying everywhere and the sky looks like a sea of white. There's confetti on the streets. People scream as they run.

Jimin flips open his yoyo again. He skims through the user's guide and nods. "Okay, unlimited wires for swinging."

After taking a deep breath, Jimin attempts to spin the yoyo. He's awed at how its wire extends then yelps when he hits himself on the head.

"Ouch," Jimin whimpers and tries again. This time it spins until it glows pink. "God, why this color of all things."

Jimin eyes the nearby buildings. Most of them are as tall as his house and he knows that swinging from those roofs would probably lead to him falling to the ground face first— at least, if he swings from the balcony.

There are fairly taller apartment complexes a few blocks away. Jimin looks up at the roof and tries to calculate the distance between them. Then he looks down at the ground and nods.

"Okay," Jimin bends down and stretches his legs. "This is easy. Bring out your inner Peter Parker."

Jimin inhales. He jumps and yelps when he actually goes over the roof. A groan of pain leaves his lips as he crashes on the tiles.

"What am I doing with my life," Jimin grumbles as he stands up. He eyes the nearest building and realizes that it's close enough to jump to.

So Jimin does. He barely makes it to the next roof but is now close enough to the taller buildings. The yoyo glows pink as he spins it and tosses it. It locks onto one of the big smoke pipes.

"Be Spiderman," Jimin whispers and jumps. "Be Spiderman!"

Jimin shuts his eyes as he swings. His feet barely miss one of the cars as he lands on another roof. Suddenly his legs feel weak but he forces himself to stand.

"City hall," Jimin spins the yoyo again. "I have to make it there!"

Now Jimin is even more grateful to Taehyung because he knows exactly where to go to reach the city hall. He swings from building to building until he reaches the more urbanized part of Seoul— he can tell by the skyscrapers and sports cars.

Jimin sits on top of a parked truck and opens his user guide again. "Okay, now what am I supposed to do."

A lot of instructions are written on the yoyo's screen and it makes Jimin's head spin. There are lots of unfamiliar words, like akumas, kwamis and stuff like that. Thankfully, there's a section that actually explains it.

"Mhm, okay," Jimin nods as he closes the yoyo. "I need to find the villain first."

Jimin swings around for a bit until he reaches the city hall. Apart from the police cars parked around the building, the area is fairly peaceful. He honestly expected the whole building to be in flames.

When Jimin lands on the police car, all the officers point their guns at him. He raises his arms.

"I mean no harm!," Jimin screeches. "I'm here to help save the hostage."

"In that ridiculous suit?," One of the policemen say. "Leave this to us, son. Don't interfere."

Jimin huffs and almost goes off about how his costume isn't ridiculous at all. He takes a deep breath and puts on a forced smile.

"Listen, I really can help," Jimin says calmly. "But I need to know exactly what happened."

"Get down from there," The policeman says. "Your disruption is considered a crime, kid."

A crime. Heck, Jimin is here to be a superhero and he's accused of crime? He almost goes off when another policeman screams from nearby.

"Boss, we got activity!"

Jimin turns towards where the police officer is pointing and sees strings of confetti, except they're slithering in the air like flying serpents. They're pouring out of the city hall's main door in waves.

"What the heck is that?! Paper snakes?!"

The police officers immediately shoot. Bullets go through the paper serpents but they continue to fly towards them. Some of them reach one of the cops and wraps tightly around their whole body. Soon they fell to the ground, mummified.

Jimin sees everything in slow motion. The snakes are immune to bullets but they're avoiding the ground. It gives him an idea.

"Don't let them get too close to you!," Jimin shouts and spins his yoyo.

"Wait, kid! It's too dangerous!"

Jimin ignores the policeman and strikes one of the paper snake's back with his yoyo. He smashes it to the ground and it immediately deflates like a balloon. The other snakes hiss and attack him.

"That's it!," Jimin flips and lands on another car. "Use your batons! Bullets don't work but they die when they hit the ground!"

Although the policemen look hesitant, one of them follows Jimin's orders. She smashes a nearby snake with her baton and it immediately deflates when making contact with the ground.

"He's right!," She yells and does the same to another snake.

"Thanks, kid," The chief says. "But who the hell are you?"

Why, he's Park Jimin of course. Jimin almost says that but for some reason it doesn't feel right. It's as if he knows saying his actual name is a bad idea.

So Jimin racks his brain for a superhero name, something that sounds cool. Mister Bug? Cheesy. Ladybug? He's a not a lady. There's only one option—

"Lordbug," Jimin grins and casually spins the yoyo. "My name is Lordbug. Please tell me where the hostage is."

"He's at the second floor," A police woman says as she tears through a snake wrapped around another officer. "Be careful, the magician is with him."

Jimin nods. "Thank you. I'll be right back."

After Jimin tosses the yoyo and locks it onto the balcony railings, he feels all eyes on him. He swings there and lands on the second floor's balcony railings.

Again, it's peaceful inside. Jimin wonders whether there's a man eating beast waiting for him inside. He shakes the thoughts off his head and kicks through the balcony doors.

The bedroom is empty. Jimin looks around and sees a very expensive looking king sized bed. There's a bulletin board nearby with photos of Seokjin and Eun Kyung pinned on it with thumbtacks.

Jimin is tempted to make a mess out of the walk in closet but decides it isn't worth it. He runs out of the room and is greeted by a long hallway.

It's so quiet that Jimin is sure he can hear a pin drop. He runs and tries to find any clue of Seokjin's whereabouts.

"Is this place a maze?," Jimin whispers. "What's with all these hallways."

Jimin pauses when he hears a loud crash. Based on the direction of the sound, it's coming from downstairs, literally underneath him. He kneels down and plants his palms on the floor.

"I have to get down there, uh," Jimin thinks. "Oh right! Lucky Charm!"

His yoyo glows pink. Jimin swings it upwards as something materializes in the red mist in the air. The object lands in his arms.

Jimin blinks and stares. "A can of paint? What the hell am I supposed to do with this?"

Knowing that Lucky Charm can only be used once every transformation, Jimin sighs and clutches the paint bucket close to him. He runs and runs, round and round, until he finally finds a set of stairs. It takes a moment for him to catch his breath.

Jimin kneels and sneaks behind the railings. He hears the thumping again and realizes that it's Seokjin. He's tied to a chair, with wires wrapped around his legs and waist. A layer of duck-tape is stuck over his mouth.

Seokjin struggles again and the chair's feet thump against the ground. Jimin glances around. The magician everyone keeps talking about is nowhere in sight.

Jimin runs towards the mayor's son when he's sure. Seokjin sees him and starts to struggle again.

"Wait! Shush!," Jimin sets the bucket of paint on the ground. "I'm here to save you. Don't move."

Seokjin thankfully quiets down as Jimin tugs on the wires. He feels his eyes on him as he loosens the wires on his feet.

Then Seokjin starts to struggle again and even kicks Jimin's leg. His eye twitches as he pulls the duck-tape off his mouth.

"You have to keep quiet or they'll hear us," Jimin hisses in a whisper.

"Idiot!," Seokjin screams. "She's behind you!"

Jimin turns around just in time to see a staff being swung at him. He rolls to the ground and barely dodges the hit. Instead, it collides with one of Seokjin's knees.

"Ouch!," Seokjin yells. "Are you stupid?! You just got your hostage hurt!"

This little— Jimin takes a deep breath and stands up. Finally, the magician appears. She's tall and her long black cape makes her look like a giant. There's a top hat on her head with the purple rose tied around its base. Her skin is purple, eyes piercing red.

In her hands is a familiar staff with a blooming rose at its tip. Jimin's eyes widen when he recognizes it.

"Why hello there little ladybug," She chuckled and twirls the staff in her hands. "Did you come to watch my show?"

"Anne!," Jimin exclaims. "What are you doing?! Snap out of it!"

Anne raises a brow then she laughs loudly. She hits the top of Seokjin's head with her staff and he screams at her in disgust.

"Sweetie, my name is Magika," Anne— Magika says as she slaps duck tape over Seokjin' mouth. "I'm so glad you're here to watch my show. What a lovely view you'll have."

Jimin grits his teeth and spins the yoyo until it glows pink. "Magika! I know you want people to enjoy and watch your show but this isn't the way to do it!"

"Why not?," Magika tilts her head and taps the tip of Seokjin's nose with her finger. "A bigger stage means a bigger audience. And I'm sure Seokjin will love to be at the center of it all."

"But how can people love you if they fear you?!"

"Fear me?," Magika chuckles. "So what? As long as they see my show, I don't care what they feel about me."

Jimin clicks his tongue. He knows that there's no way to get to Anne now, unless he figures out where her akuma is and de-evilizes it.

"In that case," Jimin puts on a fighting stance. "I'll have to stop you."

"Tsk, what a shame," Magika shakes her head. "I had a great show planned out for you, too."

Magika slowly takes her hat and tips it upside down. She digs her hand deeply into it and pulls out a deck of cards. Jimin notices how they shine.

"In that case," Magika's eyes darken as she smirks. "You won't mind if I show you a few tricks, won't you? In exchange..."

After Magika shuffles the deck in her hands, she takes out part of the pile and spreads it across her fingers. They shine like sharp blades.

"Why don't you give me your miraculous?"

When Magika throws the cards, Jimin notices how they cut through the air. He spins his yoyo in front of him and winces at the sparks that come when the cards collide with it.

Jimin glances behind him. The cards are buried into the concrete wall. A stray card flies suddenly and cuts his cheek. Warm blood drips down his face.

"You just standing there won't be fun," Magika says. "Here, have some motivation!"

Magika grabs her cape and spins. Suddenly there's a cloud of smoke and she's gone. Jimin doesn't approach Seokjin yet, he senses that it's a trap. Instead he looks for any signs of the magician.

Then there's a whisper behind Jimin. "Like my trick?"

Jimin barely dodges the attack by bending backwards. He sees her staff morph into a sword for a split second. It barely grazes the tip of his nose.

After Jimin rolls on the ground, he makes a conclusion. There are two possibilities for the akuma's location— Magika's two weapons, her staff and hat. Now the trick is to find out which one he should target.

Magika attacks again but this time summons a tornado of confetti. Jimin lunges behind Seokjin's chair and holds him to the ground.

"Securing the hostage, how cute," Magika smiles and spreads more cards across her fingers. "Almost makes me want to spare you."

When the cards are thrown, Jimin acts quickly. He stands on top of the chair and pushes his weight down. Seokjin falls backwards.

Jimin stands on the edge of Seokjin's chair as he spins his yoyo. He deflects the cards and grits his teeth as they spark.

Suddenly something wraps around Jimin's foot. He looks down just in time to see a paper snake coil around his legs. Before he can even jump, he falls to the ground.

Another paper snake wraps around Jimin's arms. He squirms and sees Seokjin— glaring at him? This piece of—

"I'm sorry for such a dirty trick," Magika says as she steps closer. "But you were giving me a hard time."

"Magika please!," Jimin pulls the yoyo closer to his hand. "This isn't right!"

Magika shushes Jimin as she kneels down and touches one of his earrings. "Be a good kid, okay? I'll set you free after I take your—"

Before Magika could even finish her sentence, a long metal pole suddenly hits her hand. She screeches and tumbles back, just as a figure lands behind her and hooks their arms underneath hers.

"Oopsies, were you having a moment?"

When Magika is thrown off, Jimin gets a good look at the mysterious figure. He's a tall man with disheveled blonde hair, black mask over his green eyes. His suit is made of dark leather, with claws at the tips of his fingers and cat ears on top of his head. There's a leather tail swinging behind him.

"Sorry for in-purr-upting," The cat man spins his pole and places it over his shoulder. He glances over his shoulder. "Need some help, ladybug?"

"You think?!," Jimin hisses and squirms.

"Relax little bug, I'll get you out," The cat man draws out his claws and simply tears through the paper snakes. "See?"

Jimin huffs as he stands up and rubs his wrists. He stares at the cat man, who's just giving him a cocky grin. The dimples on his cheeks are deep.

"Stop staring at me like that, you black cat," Jimin hisses as he sits Seokjin's chair upright.

"Hm, Black Cat," The man— Black Cat says as he strokes his chin. "That would make a good superhero name."

"So you don't even have a name?"

"Hey, don't judge me, little bug. I've been in this suit for five minutes."

Truthfully, Jimin didn't think of the possibility of there being another miraculous holder in Seoul. So, now that there's a guy in a cat suit in front of him, he doesn't whether to laugh or be in disbelief.

"Stop calling me little bug!," Jimin spins the yoyo until it turns pink. "My name is Lordbug!"

"Alright, Lordbug," Black Cat spins the pole and puts on a fighting stance. "Could you give me a recap of the situation?"

Jimin opens his mouth to answer but pauses when he sees Magika's cards fly towards them again.

"No time! Dodge the cards, they can cut through concrete!"

Black Cat nods and pounces out of the way. Jimin jumps and sees him flip multiple times like an actual cat. His fake tail sways behind him.

"Cheap trick, Magika," Black Cat stands and leans on the wall. "Didn't think you'd attack while we're busy talking."

Magika grits her teeth and throws more cards at Black Cat, who casually climbs the wall and sits on one of the ceiling's beams. In that moment of distraction, Jimin thinks.

Jimin concludes that Magika is way too strong for his first villain. So far she's created cards as sharp as knives, produced paper snakes and killer doves, not to mention the teleportation.

There has to be some kind of pattern— Jimin thinks. He spins the yoyo and grits his teeth in frustration. The bucket of paint is on the ground next to Seokjin.

"A little help here, Lordbug?," Black Cat says as he flips to dodge more cards.

"Don't be impatient!," Jimin spins the yoyo and attempts to wrap it around Magika's feet.

As expected, Magika teleports. She disappears into mist and fades into nothingness. Jimin is desperately searching for a pattern in her moves.

"Little bug, watch out!," Black Cat says suddenly and runs towards him in all fours.

Jimin doesn't get to turn around before he's tackled to the ground. He barely sees Magika stab her now bladed staff in the area he once stood.

"Thanks," Jimin says with a sigh of relief.

Black Cat stares down at Jimin— okay, maybe it's about time to call himself Lordbug— with a grin. He taps the tip of his nose with his clawed finger.

"You know, little bug," Black Cat still has that stupid grin on his face. "I wasn't that big of a fan of having a partner but now, I don't really mind."

What the. Jimin narrows his eyes at Black Cat, who's just there awaiting his reply. All the while, he's thinking who the hell this kitty is and why he's so comfortable flirting with someone he just met.

"Get off me," Jimin says as he pushes Black Cat off him. "For the record, I didn't think I'd have a partner."

Black Cat just lays there on his stomach. His chin is in his palm as he just silently stares at Jimin. Somehow, his fake tail swings with life.

"Your kwami didn't tell you?," Black Cat tilts his head. "Mine told me about you, little bug."

"I told you not to call me that," Jimin says as he stands up. "Get up, Magika's gone."

Black Cat stands and casually stretches his arms. He spins the pole staff in his hands. Jimin notices how it extends at his will.

"You got a plan?," Black Cat asks. "Cos I'm sure we can't win without one."

"Give me a break," Jimin groans in frustration. "I've been a superhero just as long as you have."

Black Cat laughs. "We have to get rid of her akuma, right? Have any ideas?"

Jimin is honestly surprised that Black Cat is already aware of the akuma. It makes him wonder how much time he and his kwami had to clarify everything.

"She has two weapons so its tricky," Jimin answers. "Her hat or her staff. As long as we figure it out, we can destroy it and win."

"Sounds simple enough," Black Cat shrugs. "All I have to do is take a guess and use my Cataclysm."

Black Cat's hand suddenly starts to glow with dark mist. Both he and Jimin yelp in shock as an orb appears over his palm. For a moment, there's silence.

"Oops," Black Cat grins awkwardly.

Jimin palms his face. "Great, now you've used your only special power."

"Cut me some slack, little bug," Black Cat puts on a little smirk. "I'm not used to this yet."

Magika suddenly appears in the air. She spreads cards across both of her hands and throws them like knives. Jimin and Black Cat dodge it again.

"We can't afford to take a guess," Jimin flips and dodges more cards. "You've only got one chance."

"Then I suggest we aim for both!," Black Cat pounces at Magika and swings his metal pole forward.

Magika teleports again and Black Cat crashes to the ground. Thankfully, his Cataclysm doesn't touch the floor. At that moment, Jimin sees the mist left by the villain again.

Wait. Jimin glances around. He sees Black Cat's figure flipping in the air. His Lucky Charm, the paint bucket, is next to Seokjin's squirming figure.

"That's it!," Jimin runs towards the paint bucket and opens it. Red paint. "Stay put kitty, I got a plan!"

"Kitty?," Black Cat exclaims before he's tackled to the ground.

"Hey, Magika!," Jimin stands and screams. "Your tricks are boring! I bet Black Cat here is much better than you!"

Magika pauses with a foot hovering over Black Cat's face. They both face Jimin questionably.

"What?," Magika hisses. "How dare you?"

"Black Cat, why don't you show her that trick?!," Jimin shouts and makes gestures with his fingers. "This one?!"

"Huh?," Black Cat blinks with a blank gaze.

Jimin groans and makes more gestures. "The one with your hands?"

"My hands?," Black Cat repeats. His ears perk in realization. "Oh, that one! Are you ready for my purr-fect trick Magika?"

Just as Jimin expects, Magika actually helps Black Cat stand. She crosses her arms and cocks her head at him.

"Show me," Magika demands.

Whilst Black Cat struggles to do the questionable trick with his fingers, Jimin sneaks to the paint bucket and grabs it. He shushes Seokjin, who's starting to squirm noisily again.

"Now you see me," Black Cat covers one of his hands and folds two of his fingers. "Now you don't!"

Magika scowls and points her staff at Black Cat. "Ha, I see perfectly through your trick! You just fold your fingers!"

"Actually, Magika," Jimin announced as he pours the red paint forward with all his strength. "It's perfect!"

The red paint douses Magika's figure and she screeches in horror. Black Cat laughs. "Guess you didn't see through that trick."

Magika grits her teeth and spins again. Jimin smirks when, just like he expects, her red figure is perfectly seen in the air.

Because Magika isn't teleporting— she's turning invisible.

"Kitty, get the hat!," Jimin spins the yoyo and locks it onto a ceiling beam.

"As you wish, little bug," Black Cat winks playfully and pounces.

Jimin snatches the staff from a very taken aback Magika whilst Black Cat takes the hat with ease. He breaks the staff in half but it just dissolves in his hands.

"Black Cat, it's the hat!"

Black Cat nods and sticks the cataclysm onto the hat. It fades into ashes and a little purple butterfly flies out of it. Jimin recognizes the description and splits his yoyo open.

"Alright, little akuma," Jimin's yoyo glows pink. "It's time to de-evilize!"

Jimin catches the akuma with ease. Got ya, he thinks and releases it. The butterfly is no longer dark purple and instead its glistening white.

"Bye bye, little butterfly," Jimin says and watches the butterfly fly away.

Magika sits up as her figure is coated with dark mist. It fades to reveal Anne, who loos both tired and confused.

"Nice going, Lordbug," Black Cat winks playfully and raises his fist. "Didn't get the plan at first but it was great."

Jimin smiles and shrugs. "Hate to admit it but I couldn't have done it without you, kitty."

Black Cat grins and raises his fist. "Guess that officially makes us partners, huh?"

"Yep," Jimin fist bumps Black Cat. "Pound it."

"What's going on?," Anne groans and yelps when she sees Seokjin tied to the chair. "Huh? Why am I here? Who are you?"

Jimin nods at Black Cat, who goes to release Seokjin. He kneels down next to Anne and places a hand on her shoulder. But before he can even explain, he's crushed into a hug.

"Thank you so much for saving me, Lordbug!," Seokjin cheers and hugs him tighter. "What reward do you want? I'll give you anything!"

"Uh, there's no need," Jimin grins awkwardly. "We're just doing our job."

"Are you two superheroes?," Seokjin puts on a big excited smile. "That's so cool!"

Jimin is honestly completely taken aback by Seokjin's change in behavior. Black Cat watched silently from behind them. Suddenly, the doors to the mansion slam open.

Mayor Kim is at the doorway with hordes of policemen and reporters flocking behind him. Seokjin cries and runs towards the mayor.

"Father!," Seokjin attempts to dive into a hug but pauses when he sees the reporters. He huffs instead. "Why didn't you come get me sooner!"

"Seokjin!," A little voice says in the crowd. "You're okay!"

Eun Kyung hugs Seokjin tightly. He stares at her and lightly taps the top of head. "Stop clinging!"

"Thank you so much for saving my son," Mayor Kim says as he steps closer to them and bows. "I don't understand much of what happened but you both have my greatest gratitude."

"Whoa, the mayor's bowing at us," Black Cat exclaims with wide eyes.

"Please don't bow, Mister Mayor!," Jimin flails his hands around. "It's our job to save those in need."

"They were so cool, father!," Seokjin says excitedly. "Lordbug went like this then Black Cat went like that!"

"I've never seen you this excited."

"Oh, shut up."

"And Magika?," Mayor Kim asks with a furious expression. "Where is she? I ought to give her a piece of my mind."

Jimin gulps and glanced at Anne, who is silently standing behind Black Cat with her gaze fixed to the ground. Seokjin glances at her knowingly.

"I don't know," Seokjin replies and looks away. "But Lordbug and Black Cat defeated her. Isn't that the only thing that matters?"

Although Jimin is surprised, he doesn't say anything. Black Cat smiles while Anne sighs loudly in relief.

"And that girl over there?," Mayor Kim asks and gestures at Anne.

"Another hostage," Black Cat replies casually and holds up the wires. "She was tied along with your son."

Jimin blinks in surprise when his miraculous starts to beep loudly. He touches it and recalls the instructions written in his yoyo's user guide.

"I'm about to de-transform," Jimin says.

"Me too," Black Cat nods and raises his hand. Jimin sees his miraculous for the first time, a black ring with a cat paw logo.

"Got to fix everything first," Jimin throws his lucky charm in the arm. "Miraculous Ladybug!"

When the paint bucket reaches the ceiling, it explodes into sparkling red mist. All the remnants of the battle with Magika disappear. The mansion is spotless once again. Outside, the paper snakes and killer doves disappear.

"Well, guess we should go, little bug," Black Cat says and attaches his metal pole to his belt.

Jimin nods at Black Cat and bows at the mayor. He runs to the window and swings outside the mansion as the reporters follow him. Black Cat jumps out from the window across.

When Jimin reaches an ally, he de-transforms immediately. Tikki appears in front of him, looking tired.

"See, Jimin?," Tikkie yawns loudly. "You did great."

"It was all thanks to you, Tikki," Jimin smiles and gently pets Tikki. "Say, when we get home, you can have all the sweets you want."

Tikki cheers. As Jimin walks home with his kwami humming in his pocket, he realizes how much his life has changed. Now a province boy like him is a superhero with a double life.

Jimin thinks about Black Cat and wonders who he is. He turns the corner and passes by a billboard of Kim Namjoon.
