Chapter 2: First day of school
Holly nudged Kyri awake as the jet landed, and after fixing her curly red hair, she stepped onto the roof of her new home. She looked over the city and the Eiffel tower way in the distance. Nodding to the pilot, she opened the trapdoor, climbing into her new room, Holly following close behind her. She looked in awe at the huge structure that was supposed to be her room. Greeting the maids, Kyri headed to her loft bed to unpack her personal stuff. She unzipped her luggage putting up her pillows and blanket after making her bed she climbed down to see the maids had put a desk and laptop in the space under her bed. Then after putting the dog bed by her desk, Kyri sat down to log it to her laptop, but not before she noticed a small box on the desk. She opened small box to reveal a small silver locket with a flower on the front. Curious, Kyri opened up the locket to reveal her, her father, and mother, all looking happy together. She looked at it longingly, remembering when mother was happier, less sad, depressed, worried and distant.
Kyri turned to see her mother in the doorway.
"It was from your father," Her mother said.
"You need to leave for school, now"
Nodding, Kyri grabbed her stuff and after eating with her mom, she left for school with Holly.

Kyri thought it was kind of absurd her bodyguard had to walk with her to school. Every. Day. After she convinced the bodyguard she could go alone, she darted over to the bakery and only to run into a dark haired girl with pigtails.
"Oops sorry, are you alright?" The girl asked, helping Kyri up.
She nodded shyly.
"I'll be off to school," the dark haired girl said, sprinting off and running into the fountain.
Kyri dusted herself of and headed inside of the Boulangerie, bell announcing her arrival. A dark haired woman waved at her as Kyri walked up to the counter.
"1 croissant and 2 chocolate scones," Kyri requested, rummaging around her purse for her wallet.
She held out some euros but the woman pushed her hand back and handed the bag to Kyri.
"Don't worry about it, it's on the house," she said kindly.
"And call me Sabine."
Kyri smiled kindly and walked out the door, waving at Sabine. She walked, admiring the city and eating her treats. Then she saw a girl about her age with long blonde hair pulled up into a messy bun and wearing glasses, walking across the street. But the weird thing was, the girl was talking to her pocket. Kyri couldn't make out what the Blondie was saying but she did hear one thing. The sound of the truck that was coming straight towards the girl.
"Watch out!" Kyri shouted in french, running into the street, dropping her bag of pastries.
Rain, yells of panic, the roaring engine. Kyri had to stop. But she couldn't. Not again. She wasn't going to fail.
The girl's head shot up looking in terror as the truck came straight towards her. Kyri crashed into the girl, knocking her out of the way just in time. As they lay on the pavement gasping for air, Kyri felt the air of the truck as it drove past her back.
She grabbed the girl's hand, pulling her across the street and on to the safety of the sidewalk. Panting, the girl looked up. Kyri could see that the girl's blonde hair had slipped out of the bun and her glasses had fallen off. Seeing a necklace with an opal charm in the grass beyond the girl walked over, picked it up, and hung it over her neck once again.
"Thanks," the girl simply said in a British accent.
She barely heard the girl as stress bubbled up, ears ringing. The car, the ball, rain.
"She's a hero!" Someone called
Then everyone started cheering as Kyri's breaths turned into ragged gasps.
"You alright?" The girl asked, breaking her out of her trance
"I-I need to go," Kyri squeaked out.
Then Kyri ran towards the school. She stopped at the steps and sat on a bench, petting Holly. She then got up to go inside and accidentally bumped into the dark haired girl she had ran into this morning, knocking her into a blondie with a curled ponytail and white sunglasses perched on top of her head. Her coffee spilled, a single drop landing on the girl's sweater and the rest splashing onto Kyri's yellow sweater and jeans.
"You just ruined my Gabriel Agreste sweater!" She blondie shouted.
Kyri covered her ears.
"That's a bit of an over reaction," she thought, looking down at her coffee stained clothing.
The blondie grabbed the collar of the dark haired girl's shirt as the girl stuttered an apology.
"Marinette! You are so-"
Someone cleared their throat, and Kyri looked to see a girl with glasses and auburn hair recording the situation. The blondie paused.
"Don't stop on my account. I'm just a fly on the wall," she said.
"So gonna be my new best friend! It's just a priceless cashmere sweater. Come on, Sabrina. Let's get to class. We have much to study," the blondie said, letting go the girl apparently named Marinette and heading towards the school.
There was an exchange between the red-head and the blondie and they went in, the blondie dramatically putting her hand to her forehead. Trying to slip away unnoticed, Kyri ran into the school with Holly behind her. She sighed in relief and headed to the restrooms to change into a new outfit. After she was done, she exited therestroom. Students waved at her and Kyri smiled and waved back. She wasn't looking where she was going as she walked because she ran into the back of a girl, causing her to drop her bag. The girl whirled and grabbed Kyri by the shoulders, slamming her against the lockers.
"Why you Marinette! I'll-"
Then she stopped, staring right into Kyri's violet eyes.
