chapter one

|ONE|
SWEET HEAVEN

Eira was only a girl of nineteen when she met Eric and decided to be his. She was now twenty-one and through the two years she'd been his, their odd relationship was kept very private. The only ones who really knew about them was Eric's progeny, Pam, the vampires that frequented Fangtasia, and her mother.

It wasn't like her to be deceitful so she told her mother almost immediately once she decided to be his. Her mother, Meredith, didn't like it at all but there were far worse vampires for her to have met. Plus, one thing her mother and the vampire both agreed on was keeping the knowledge of Eira secret and private.

Her mother wanted her presence kept secret because of what Eira could do. Eric wanted her kept secret because of her blood that he only ever wanted to be his.

In the two years she gave Eric her blood, their relationship never turned sexual. Although, not for lack of trying. Eric tried many times to seduce her but Eira was far too innocent to have any type of desire in that way to even read into what he was doing.

Eventually, Eric decided he didn't want to ruin her. She was too pure, and, although he flirted with her many times, the unlikely pair were just friends (albeit in a very odd way). And so they're strange relationship continued without any complications, although, the weeks that followed would prove to have many bumps along the road.

        _____

        Merlotte's.

It was where she worked as a waitress. She had a jovial spirit and always gave a customer a smile even if they gave her odd looks because of her snow, white hair. She was currently working tonight.

The Rattrays came into the bar and sat down in a different section than she had. She heard Sookie comment, "Oh, God no."

She gave Sookie a smile, "Don't worry, Sookie. I'll wait on them."

"You're an absolute angel, Eira. Thank you," Sookie said gratefully as Eira went towards the back booth they sat at.

She walked past the booth that Jason and Hoyt were sitting at. She gave Jason a smile and he stared in awe. He uttered as she went past, "Does she just keep getting prettier and prettier or what?"

Hoyt chuckled, "She's way out of your league."

"Yeah. You're probably right, man," Jason said wistfully as he thought. She's so beautiful. That girl deserves the best things. That ain't me. I've never been a good thing, have I? But I wish I was. I'd try. Then he was smacked upside the head by Sookie.

"You stay away, Jason," Sookie scolded.

"Jesus, Sook. I wasn't gonna do nothing," Jason responded. At least, he thought he wouldn't.

"You better," Sookie warned as she walked away and Jason sighed before he turned his gaze to Dawn.

"Well, I can't have the prettiest but I can have pretty," Jason smirked as he left the table to go flirt with Dawn. A distraction. Hoyt shook his head in amusement.

While the drama unfolded about her without her knowing, Eira greeted the Rattrays with a smile, "Hi, what can I get for you?"

Mack Rattray stared up at her hungrily. Although, she was oblivious to what he was thinking, Sookie was not. Sookie could hear his nasty thoughts. Even though she's an albino, I'd fuck her silly.

"Disgusting," Sookie frowned as she stood at the bar by Sam and Tara while Eira quickly took the order of the Rattrays before carrying on, oblivious to such horrible thoughts which was a blessing.

Eira cleaned the table of a group of men who left. She was surprised to find they left her a hundred dollar tip. She smiled giddily about it before she went towards the kitchen to place the Rattrays order just as Dawn came in which meant her shift ended.

Lafayette noticed her giddy attitude, "What's got you so smiley?"

"A group just left me a huge tip," Eira smiled before furrowing her eyebrows. "Although, I don't know why. I didn't do anything different or special."

"You didn't have to, sweet thing," Lafayette chuckled. "They only wanted what's between..."

Arlene covered her ears as he finished the sentence, "Your legs."

"No, Lafayette," Arlene scolded as she uncovered her ears. "No corrupting her."

             Eira frowned, "Is it bad?"

"Yes, sweetie," Arlene said softly before taking an order to take to a table. "Don't listen to him."

"You poor sweet summer child," Lafayette shook his head before sliding forward a takeout order. "Here you go."

"Thanks, Lafayette," Eira smiled as she grabbed it before she started to leave since her shift was over. She went over to the bar to say goodbye to Sam.

"Do you need anything else from me?" she asked.

"No, you're good," Sam smiled. "Get home safe."

She gave him a small smile in return before leaving. Once she did, a vampire walked into Merlotte's.

____

Eira took the takeout she got to the hospital. Her mother was working a nightshift and she wanted to do something nice.

"Oh, thank you," her mother said gratefully as she grabbed the bag. "I really needed this."

Eira smiled before Meredith asked, "Are you going straight home after this?"

"Uh," Eira paused. "I'm going to see Eric."

Her mother sighed. She didn't exactly approve of Eric but then again, what mother would? Especially after their first meeting.

Eira had become a little rebel. She wanted to tell her mother immediately about Eric as she told her everything but Eric with his haunting blue eyes convinced her not to say anything. It led to her sneaking him into her room where he would feed on her.

Meredith started to catch on that she was sneaking someone in as she would hear the floorboards creak sometimes. She ended up asking Eira about it in a teasing tone one morning (not at all expecting a vampire).

Eira ended up lying and said she met a boy at Merlotte's that she really liked. It was her first lie and she felt so guilty about it.

Only a couple nights later when she snuck Eric in again, her mother walked in on them. Eric was so consumed by the taste of her blood that he didn't use any of his senses and it allowed them to be caught.

Meredith found Eric feeding on her daughter and immediately raised her hand, paralyzing him. She used...magic.

"Witch," Eric growled.

"Vampire."

"This...is the boyfriend you were talking about?" Meredith questioned her daughter.

"You called me your boyfriend?" Eric smirked.

"He's not," Eira pleaded. "But he won't hurt me."

"He's feeding from you, Eira. He already has," Meredith argued, intending to kill the vampire with her powers.

"Mom! I'm letting him feed from me," Eira said before smiling cutely. "I'm being kind."

"Yes," Eric chuckled. "She's been very kind."

"Eric!"

There was a lot of arguing for days before Meredith had a discussion with Eric. A discussion full of glares and threats.

"I know your kind doesn't like witches so she's to be kept as secret as you can make her, vampire."

"Now that we can both agree on," Eric stated.

"And if my daughter ever gets hurt because of you, I'll burn you alive...."

It was safe to say that her mother and Eric merely tolerated each other. Although, after the few years that passed, Meredith started to notice how the vampire looked at her daughter and her attitude cooled significantly.

"Alright," Meredith sighed. "But you'll be home at a decent hour."

"I will," Eira promised as she hugged her mother before she went on her way.

_____

Eira was now at Fangtasia. They had changed the video store to this bar shortly after she met Eric. There were far too many naked people for her taste but she got used to it; meaning, she mostly ducked her head down and didn't look.

But she was in the office Eric had. He was feeding from her neck while Pam had her fangs in her wrist. It took awhile before she allowed Pam to drink from her as well as she quite nervous to have two vampires feeding from her but her kind heart that wanted to please people (even dead people) won out. But she remembered it even took awhile for her to let Eric feed from the vein on her neck.

When Eira learned he was a thousand years old, she was ever so curious. Weeks passed since he met the girl with blood so sweet and she was ever so curious about his life. What he saw, what he did.

She'd ask ever so many questions but it wasn't annoying. She ask carefully and thoughtfully with a look of wonder on her face the more she learned. He wondered if she'd always look like at him like that with her eyes so bright; he didn't think it would last but he quite enjoyed it for the time being.

"So you were a Viking warrior?"

"A prince but yes, that, too."

She analyzed him before she smiled, "I bet your enemies were all scared before they even fought with you just towering over them."

"Probably," he chuckled before he analyzed her as well. "Is that something that makes you scared?"

She giggled, "No. But you don't want me to be so it's different."

He hummed before she asked another question, "Where exactly were you from?"

"Both Sweden and Norway. I remember playing in the North Sea as a child."

"You always smell like the ocean," she commented unabashedly. It was something she noticed with him but his soul was a bit like the ocean. Turbulent and expansive and she would have to sink to its depths just to understand it. "Although, I've only smelt it through candles and air fresheners so perhaps I'm wrong."

"You've lived so little," he shook his head.

"Well, you're old," she pouted and he chuckled.

It was silent for a moment before she peered at him, "Did you think you'd take me?"

      "To my home?"

"Yes, but I mean only if you enjoy my company but it's okay if you don't," she rambled. "If you just want my blood, that's okay. I understand if..."

      "I'll take you," he interrupted.

"Really?" she gave him a smile.

"One day when your mother won't kill me for it."

She chuckled before Eric leaned forward and hovered his face ever so close to hers. It made her breath catch in her throat and a little blush rise up. Eric could hear the organ inside her chest, the stranger heart, skip a beat. It made him gain a little grin that he could effect her so.

"Now no more questions," Eric said.

"Sorry," she nodded and held her wrist out to him to give him her blood (the reason she came here).

Eric shook his head and caressed the vein on her neck softly, "This one."

"Oh. Okay," she said a bit nervously but nevertheless moved her hair to the side. Eric stared at her as she did so. She was so agreeable but he could hear her heart beat faster.

"You can say no," Eric clarified.

She frowned, "I don't care where you bite me."

Eric grinned a bit as he thought that wouldn't be so true if he was to suggest the vein on her thigh but he didn't say that. Instead, he only spoke ever so carefully, "Are you nervous?"

      "Will it hurt here?"

"Does it hurt when I bite you on your wrist?"

      She shook her head.

     "Then it won't hurt."

She nodded, giving him permission as she stared at him with trusting eyes and it made him ever so protective, or possessive, over her. As he tilted her head to the side to get better access, he thought about how he didn't even want anyone to even touch her.

Eira came back from her thoughts when Pam retracted her fangs before throwing a smirk at Eira, "It's always a pleasure to see you, Eira."

Eira beamed before she left as Eric continued to drink. After she did so, Eric pulled his fangs away from her neck. He pricked his finger with one of his fangs before he healed the two bite marks. She reached up and placed a hand on his cheek as she asked softly, "Was that enough?"

"It's always enough," Eric stated as he leaned into her touch that was so delicate like he was something precious. Her touch felt like sunlight and he felt like melting to be near her. He stared at her green eyes that reminded him of a spring day that he'd never experience again before he smirked slightly. "Yet you always ask."

"Well, I'm yours," she argued. "Aren't I supposed to look after you and make sure you don't starve?"

He smiled as he reached out and caressed her cheek with his thumb. She was so...soft and his chest tightened in protectiveness over it. He was looking at her so gently as he replied in that smooth voice of his, "If you'd like."

She smiled innocently, "I'll take care of you, Eric Northman."

"Please, do," he smirked in a suggestive tone that she didn't pick up on and he could only chuckle as she furrowed her eyebrows cluelessly.

AN: okay my old version is coming back with some additions like more Jason. Let's just say I didn't like that Jason didn't end up with Jessica and I'm fixing that
