Gulf's POV

It's been 12 days since I came here, I enjoyed everyday admiring this breathtaking nature, yesterday I stayed up late outside and watched the night sky, the sea of stars were so dazzling, what made the view even more amazing is that I got to see it while being in the blue flower field, king Mew offered to take me and of course I accepted

Actually, since I met him, we started spending a lot of time together, he would come visit me every day, he asked me to teach him more and would ask a lot of things, I'm so surprised by how curious and friendly he is, in my imagination, kings are always strict, serious and only came about their work but this king is completely different, I also got to meet his younger brother who is very cheerful

I noticed smth after meeting Jay, the royal family looks so good-looking, I mean everyone on this island are beautiful and strong but Mew is on another level, he is well-build and very handsome, he also has the aura of a ruler but he is easy-going at the same time, not just the people but the animals here are rare and so stunning, Mew showed me a white children lions and some black leopards that's I've never heard of before

I really want to walk around the whole island but for a city boy like me it's impossible, I wish I learned some jungle survivals methods and trained much more before but I still will enjoy my stay here until the last second, I woke up a little late to find that everyone has already left, I ate some bread and drank a fruit juice then took my bag and walked out heading to the forest but when I was about to go in

"Fang! Finn!" I saw them heading toward me, I was glad that Finn quickly healed, I knelt down patting them, I expected to see Mew but he wasn't there

"did you come alone today?" I stood up as they both walked on each side, Fang bit the tip of my pants as if he wanted to drag me so I followed him

"oh, isn't this the road to the castle?" I asked looking around to the one way path that lead into the huge castle, Fang and Finn started pushing me

"am I really allowed to go in there without permission?" I tried to stop but they wouldn't let me and kept dragging me inside, the moment I arrived I kept looking around the gorgeous garden and in the middle there a beautiful fountain, I started taking pictures when suddenly someone came rushing toward me

"you?! What are you doing here?!" a tall man who kind of looked like Mew yelled startling me, he was angry, he glanced to the wolves who stood by my side, he quickly stepped back

"I-I'm sorry, Fang and Finn made me follow them and they brought me here, I know I'm not supposed to be here, I'm so sorry" I bowed apologizing while he glared but calmed down

"I see, it's you who is also liked by the knights"

"knights?" I asked looking to them

"they always accompany Mew everywhere and protected him too so they are called knights or guardians" he explained

"wow, you are amazing Fang, Finn" I knelt patting them as they sat down

"oh, Leo! Gulf!" just then Mew came out running

"Gulf, this is my big brother Leo, Leo, this Gulf, one of the tourists and as you can see my wolves' friend, he also became my friend" I felt happy to be considered as a friend by the king

"it's an honor meeting you" I said bowing my head

"your wolves dragged him here"

"I asked them to do it, I wanted to show Gulf around the castle, didn't I tell you that I was going to invite someone?"

"I don't remember hearing it"

"I'm sorry brother, I will make sure to tell you next time"

"I'm sorry for yelling earlier, enjoy yourself here"

"oh no it's fine, I also shouldn't have came in here without permission, thank you" with that I watched Leo walking away

"come Gulf let me show you around"

"thank you for inviting me king Mew, your castle it so fascinating, I was captivated by it even before landing here"

"I'm glad you like it, my ancestors and every people helped building it from nothing, it stood tall for many decades"

"it's truly amazing" he kept taking me around to their dining-room, the celebrations room, the library, the kitchen and even his bedroom where we sat drinking a cup of tea

"Gulf, I want to learn more about the world out there so can tell me about you?"

"about me?"

"when I listen to other people's stories I will be able to learn from them what kind of life is out there" Mew was looking outside with soft yet sad look

"well I don't mind, but I'm an ordinary person, to be honest I spend my time outside than anywhere else"

"it's fine, even little trivial details are fine"

"alright, I was born in the city hospital on December the 4th, I'm the second son of my family, we were living in a condo then moved to a bigger house near the forest"

"what is a condo?"

"it's like a house in a building that has many houses, oh, wait a second I will show you"

"I see, it's a little small, compared to the houses and your castle of course it's small, the city has millions of people so they needed to build smaller houses so that everyone can have a place, here is my current house" I kept showing him pictures and told him about my schools and my current university, he looked excited listening to me while seeing the photos

"btw, I thought those phones has smth that if it gets low the phone will be turned off"

"ah, the battery, all phones works with battery but I brought with me a couple of power bank to charge it that will be enough for a month, a power bank is euh, like a metal box that can conserve electricity to charge things, I will bring it tomorrow"

"thank you Gulf, I saw the world map and I was blown away by how big and wide it is, my island is like an ant compared to the planet"

"it's true that the island is small compared to the rest of world but it's purity and beauty is exceptional, I can assure you that there is no place in the world that can be at the same level of this paradise" Mew grinned

"hearing this makes me more and more proud and grateful for being born here"

"I also wished that I was born here, I may have to stay for one month this time but I will come back and will stay longer next time"

"you are welcome here Gulf"

"btw, how come I didn't see anyone while walking around earlier?"

"my uncles and aunts' families are living in the other part of the castle, this part is for the king and his family, well my parents went to a vacation house on the other side on the island and my sister who is married is living with her husband in a house close by" just then someone knocked on the door

"come in!"

"hey Mew, oh you have a guest?"

"yes, this is Gulf, one the tourists, this is my cousin Ryan"

"pleased to meet you" I said smiling as he glanced to me for a moment then smiled

"it's the first time you invited someone to the castle"

"as you can see Fang and Finn liked him so I got interested in who he is"

"really? The knights liked someone other than you? Amazing!!"

"isn't it? Come on sit and join us for tea"

"sure, ah no wait, I came here to give you this papers to check it, I need to go back to the plant house, it seem our doctor found some special plant"

"I can't wait to know what kind of plant it is"

"I'm also curios, I will tell you about it next time, have fun!" with that he left

"Gulf? What's wrong?" Mew who noticed that I was in deep thoughts asked

"ah no, well, I don't want to be rude but I noticed that your brother and cousin are not familiar with having guests or maybe they don't like having strangers here?"

"it can't be helped they still didn't completely accepted this idea of having outsiders come to our island, everything was my idea and later Jay joined me, even my sister is a little uncomfortable with this idea but I'm trying to just learn about the world, I have no intention of changing my current life styles"

"I understand, it's better to keep your island away from the world that got destroyed by technology, some plants and trees and even animals got extinct because of it, yet one the other hand, it would benefit your people if you at least learn more about medical things, your nature is pure and contains many secrets that could help you"

"yes, you're right, our current doctor actually have the same idea and is doing research about some plants"

"if you want, when I go back I will collect all medical books and send it to you, except for that I think you are living perfectly fine as you are now"

"you really like the nature"

"I adore it, sometimes I think I was born in the wrong place"

"but if you weren't born in the city, you wouldn't be able to teach me all those things and to know this much about the herbs and flowers"

"ah, you have a point" we smiled and continued exchanging small talks, it felt like I was talking to a friend, no, I didn't even feel this comfortable talking with my friends like this, maybe because we are strangers and that I know that he will never benefit from knowing things about me which made me at ease, besides anyone that animals like is not a bad person, that's what I believe

Not long after, I had to leave letting Mew do his work, I spend the rest of the day just walking around the entrance of the forest, the next day, I walked out watching the people doing their work and kids playing, that's when I noticed three little girls sitting alone looking sad, so I approached them

"hello" they looked to me being startled and backed away a little

"he-hello" I smiled sitting down

"don't be scared, I won't hurt you, I just want to know why are you sad?"

"we wanted to play with the ball but the boys took it from us and now we have nothing to play with"

"what about your dolls?"

"we got tired of playing with dolls" I thought for a while

"then how about I tell you a story"

"a story?" they looked confused

"yes, it's about a little girl and a witch"

"a witch?"

"a witch is an old woman who is a bad one and use magic, like she can fly with a broom or make things move" suddenly the girls eyes glittered and they moved surrounding me

"please tell us big brother"

"once upon a time, there was this little beautiful girl who had a very long hair..." seeing their cute reaction while I was telling them the story made me smile widely, their innocence has no limits, it seem all other children heard me and soon after I was surrounded by all the children listening to me excitedly

Somehow, I started to do this once a day, sitting next to one of the houses and having the children and even teens and old woman around me, it's normal since they grew up not knowing about those fairy tales, I would also spend a couple of hours with Mew either by day or by night where he takes me to his secret place and even asked me to tell him the fairy tales he heard about from the town people

Honestly when I came to this island I was planning on just focusing on my research and walking around enjoying the forest, I have no idea how did I end up becoming the king's friend and getting close to the people here, somehow, I feel like I belong here, I feel so at ease as I if this is my home, I just keep going with the flow even though I will be feeling so depressed when it's time for me to leave

"today, it's my 15th day here, time passed quickly" I said while watching the night sky by the beach with Mew who looked in deep thought

"yeah" I glanced to him in confusion, he usually would start speaking and asking

"is there smth bothering you king Mew?" he looked to me for a moment then back up the starry sky

"I'm not supposed to share this with you but I have no one else to talk to"

"I'm a good listener and trust me, I promise I won't tell anyone anything" he smiled weakly

"I'm not sure when it started but 2 days ago I started noticing someone's presence watching me, more like stalking me, just today, I happened to look to the balcony in my office and I suddenly saw someone who quickly jumped away"

"that's creepy, you should at least tell your older brother"

"I don't want to worry him, he is already busy helping with some of the work"

"but it can get dangerous, you should tell someone"

"I told you"

"I will be leaving soon, I know that your guardians are always with you but there could be someone who wants to hurt you"

"but who would do that? I never treated anyone badly or was mean to someone"

"they surely have a reason for following you but just be extra careful, even envy and greediness can blind someone and makes them do unbelievable things" he looked depressed

"if only they would come and face me"

"some humans would rather to keep hiding their ugly feelings then let anyone see it, please stay safe, you are the king and everyone is relying on you"

"thanks Gulf"

"I may not be strong or very smart but if you need anyone to talk to or any help you can tell me anytime"

"I will, I'm glad I told you, I feel less pressure" I smiled looking back to the sky, I didn't want to make Mew more concerned and depressed but I actually already felt someone's glares a while ago, glares mixed with hatred, who ever if after Mew is set on hurting him, I wish nothing serious happen...

Yet unfortunately, my wish was not heard and this island almost lost its beloved king
