Everyone is running around, it's a very big and special day, so many things needs to be prepared, the whole place and the city were being decorated, the people were happily helping each other, even children had tasks to do, like cleaning or buying things, groups of people get together to do smth like cooking or arranging things

"you are so lucky granny" a woman said while she and some other women and the granny were preparing some side dishes

"why?" another younger one asked

"indeed I'm lucky, when I was 5 years old I watching the great king getting crowned, when I turned 27 I got to help doing the same thing for the crowning of his son, I also helped around during the crowning of our current king when I was 46 years and here I'm 78 witnessing the crowning of the fourth king" the granny explained with a wide grin while sitting by the table helping with cutting the vegetables

"wow, that's amazing grandma" a teen girl exclaimed

"may you live long until the crowning of the fifth king!" another teen girl said making the granny smile softly

"I'd love too, I wish to at least see our new king's future wife and children"

"I'm sure you can, you are really strong grandma"

"besides we still have a lot to learn from you"

Today is the big celebration for a new king, he is the second son of the current king and was chosen by his father, like any previous king, the next one will be chosen among his children or nephews, only the one who fit all the requirement is the chosen one

"Mew, my dear son, I want you to take over and help protect and guide our people" the father said while they were talking alone in the king's office two days ago

"but father, to be honest I'm not really interested in becoming a king, my other two brothers are way stronger and more fit to be the ruler of our island"

"strength and intelligent aren't the only requirements son, you will discover that with time, for me in my eyes you are the best one, I'm almost 70, I want to go to our house on the other side of the island and continue the rest of my life peacefully with your mother"

"let me tell you this father if you choose me as a king I may try to contact the outer world"

"when you become the king it's up to you to make any decision, just make sure to keep our people safe from many harm, our island is so beautiful and pure don't make the outer world destroy it" Mew who gave up smiled

"thank you for trusting me with this father, I promise I will keep our island safe, to be a kind and fair king who will love everyone equally and do my best to make you and mother proud of me" the old king smiled warmly

"I know I can count on you, I hope you will quickly find someone you love to share everything with you, no matter what you do I'll always be proud of you"

This is how new kings are chosen and today, is Mew's turn to be one, the Suppasit royal family ruled this island for centuries, according to their history books, they were the first to discover this island along with another people who chose the first Suppasit as the king, when they started, they were only 20 peoples then slowly the number kept growing as many families were formed and a city was build along with the big castle, they decided to keep it on the north west of the island, it's actually on top of a smaller island that had only one way connecting it to the main land while being surrounded by the deep ocean water.

Mew was sitting in his room already dressed in his formal clothes, he was feeling nervous, after all he will inhering a huge responsibility, he could hear the ruckus from his balcony, while he trying to calm himself, his younger sister came inside with her twins

"how are you feeling big brother?" she asked sitting next to him while Mew greeting his nephews putting them on his lap

"honestly so nervous and worried, I'm just 29 years and I never thought of becoming a king so I never trained well or studied enough, our brother Leo would be better, I even think that Jay is better than me"

"what are you talking about? Jay is still 22 years old, even if he is smart and strong but he still never joined in king's affair so it's impossible"

"then you do it Lin" his sister laughed

"you really are nervous, relax Mew, everything will be fine, besides you are not alone, even if you are the king, we are siblings and we will support you and help you"

"will I be a good king?" Lin smiled

"I'm sure you will be the best king ever, like father, I trust you and will always follow you"

" Lin is right Mew, be more confident, we will be by your side and advice you too"

"Jay, Lin, thank you so much, I'm so glad I have a great siblings like you, I promise I will do my best to keep our island safe and as beautiful as always"

Soon after everyone was called out, the crowing will be happening in the middle of the city where everyone will witness everything, when Mew started walking between the two crowds on each side and greeting them, the people was watching him excitedly, they already know so much about Mew who always stayed with them in the city, he was loved by everyone, not just the people, Mew also made a certain bond with some of the animals on the island and that's why it's normal to see him walking with his precious two wolves on each side, a charcoal black wolf with shining golden eyes named Fang and a snow white wolf with deep blue sea eyes named Finn (A/N like the ones in the photo), Mew found them alone somewhere in the forest 5 years ago, they were so small and injured so Mew took them in thus w special bond between them was created, although those wolves doesn't like any other human besides Mew yet everyone on the island loves them calling them 'royal knights' or 'island guardians'

Mew walked up and started making his vow as the people were cheering and whistling making Mew smile waving to them, when his father put the crown on his head and handed him the passed down Scepter, yells and screams of happiness got louder

"King Mew! King Mew!!" Mew proudly raised his hand high that was holding the scepter making the applauses and yelling go even louder

"let's together keep our island safe, help each other and always be honest with everyone around us!"

"yes!!!! We will!!!" it was a happy memorable day for everyone, Mew started walking around greeting the elderly who couldn't come see him, he went from house to house and even paid his respects for them, this is the new king, a kind, loveable and straight-forward, he is very modest and even shared his things with the poor, to name a bad thing about him is that he trust people quickly and get so careless

Soon after, Mew started his duties as a king, his father stayed with him for a month teaching him everything, when he finally got used to his new life, Mew started to make plans about contacting the outer world, just when he was thinking that, a plane came landing on the smaller island on the right

Of course, everyone where shocked, for them who lived all their life on an island it was the first time they even saw a plane, Mew and his two brothers rushed to the plane to find a wounded man inside, Mew was amazed by the metal small plane, imagining that this came from beyond his island excited him, when the pilot regained his consciousness

"tell us who you are and where did you come from" Leo asked with a deadly serious and annoyed tone

"calm down Leo, he still looks in pain, take your time and explain everything to us" Jay said helping the man sits up

"I'm Liam, I flew from Thailand, I was on my way to deliver some supplies to Tonga island but I was hit by a sudden storm and I lost my way, while trying to keep the plane safe I got injured and my vision got blurry so as soon as I saw an island I decided to land there and rest until I get better and ready to fly again"

"you can fly in the sky with that thing?" Mew asked amazed, the pilot looked confused at first, he slowly nodded looking to the three brothers

"wow, unbelievable" Jay said

"you came right in time" Mew said with a wide smile

"Mew, I know you are eager about knowing the outer world but we can just trust someone who suddenly landed here, maybe he did it intentionally"

"I know how worried you are Leo and I promise I won't do anything that will harm the island so please trust me" Leo looked a little irritated

"do what you want" he said and left leaving Jay and Mew who sat facing the man

"actually, we have never made any contact with anyone outside our island so we don't know anything about the rest of the world"

"all previous kings declined any idea of having any form of contact with people outside our land but this curious king is excited about learning about the world" Jay finished

"I understand... euh, wow, it's my first time meeting people like you, I'd love to tell you everything but I believe it's better for you to go see the world yourself, I can take you back to my country with my plane and show you around"

"I can't I'm the king and I must stay here, also I don't want to expose my beloved island to the world, I just want to know what's out there" the pilot thought for a while

"I can describe you the world but how about I go back to grab some books and photographs and come give them to you, you will learn more from the books, I can even show you real videos of the countries out there" Mew smiled in both astonishment and impatience, he really can't wait to discover this world

"this is so interesting" Jay said

"also, how about opening your island to tourists?" the pilot suggested

"tou... rists?" the boys asked since they've never heard this word

"tourists are people who travel from one place and go to another place for a limited time, for example me, I came from my country, well I accidently ended up here but I can in a way considered as a tourist, someone who just walks around to admire this island and meet new people" Mew was listening carefully liking the idea

"it's a good idea but won't our people get scared?" Jay asked

"yeah, I'm worried about making them frightened by meeting strangers"

"you don't have to worry about that, if you notify your people in advance and make the tourists follow your rules, everything will be fine, you can also choose how many people are allowed to come here, believe me there so many different people out there, Asian People, Arabic people, American people and much more, you will learn more from them"

"I think it will work like this" Jay said as Mew nodded

"how can we do that?" the pilot thought for a while

"I can post about your island online and for anyone who would like to come will send you a letter and some information about them and whoever you choose will be given a special ticket to come here by plane"

"although I didn't understand half of what you said I get the general idea and I like it, being the one to choose who comes and how many will work just great, but let's say I chose 7 people to come, isn't your plane a little small?" Liam giggled

"mine is special one for just sending deliveries, there are bigger and larger planes, three times bigger than that one outside"

"perfect, how can I get a plane?"

"if you want a private plane you can buy one but it costs a lot of money"

"I don't know anything about the world's money but will gold buy it?"

"gold?" Mew showed him the gold pendant decorating his clothes making Liam even more surprised staring at it

"omg, this is pure gold, this chain is enough to let you live in my country comfortably for a year, amazing!"

"so this will do right?"

"absolutely"

"there is only one thing we must discuss, how can we trust that you won't go tell the world about us and bring so many people with you" Mew stated seriously, Liam looked down

"I know it's impossible to trust a stranger, oh, I know, how about you let someone come with me, someone you trust and he can watch me all the time"

"I will go!!" Jay said out loud

"no way, I won't let you go, it can be dangerous

"you know how much strong and smart I'm, besides this man is able to talk in the same language as us so it means the rest of the world can understand me too, I can take care of myself brother" Mew was concerned, he doesn't want to send his younger brother to someplace that can be dangerous

"I promise I will take care of your brother, considering my position it will be a 13 hours travel back to my country, I will buy you a private plane and come back with it, so at most we will be coming back in 3 or 4 days"

"let me think about it, you rest here"

"sure, thank you king Mew for taking care of me" Liam said, Mew spend the rest of the day seriously thinking, he even went to his secret place and kept asking himself, this is what he wanted, to know about the world but is it fine to trust that man? What if smth may happen to his brother? But Jay was also interested and really wanted to go...

"alright, I will trust Jay with this, he will accompany you, you must come back in at max four days, also you must keep this a secret, no one, absolutely no one must know the location of our island, if we find you really trustworthy we will hire you as our private pilot"

"I promise I will keep it a secret and earn your trust" as soon as the pilot recovered he took Jay and went away, Mew kept being concerned waiting and praying for his brother's safety, Leo was furious when he heard about this but he couldn't hold them back, by the third day, Mew spend most of the day looking up the sky, he was dead worried and even started regretting sending his brother with that man, he didn't even sleep that night, Mew got depressed and was hoping that his brother was at least fine and safe, sun started rising and Mew started losing hope when he suddenly heard a voice in the distance

The king stood watching the private bigger plane landing near him, as soon as he saw his brother jumping out of the plane he run hugging him to assure himself that he wasn't dreaming, Jay hugged his brother back

"I'm glad you're back"

"I told you, you can always count on me Mew" Mew then looked to Liam

"thank you for keeping your promise"

"I'm honored to be your private pilot and from now on I will only serve you King Mew"

"let's work together from now on" they shook hands which signaled the beginning of Mew's discovery of the world, he was amazed by the stories he heard from Jay and everything he read and saw in pictures and videos, when he got letters from tourists he got so interested, he chose an old couple to be the first to come

Everyone on the island were scared at first seeing new faces but slowly they got used to it and accepted the idea of welcoming strangers, they even used the hotel idea they heard and build one for all tourists who come visit, Mew was learning a new things from every tourist who come, hearing their stories and seeing their clothes and things and Jay became the responsible of any connection to the outer world, he was the one to arrange things and even would accompany Liam sometimes and buy things for his family slowly getting used to Liam's country

"I'm so glad it worked out so well" Mew murmured watching the field of blue flowers while rubbing Finn and Fang's fur sitting up the hill

"I can't wait to meet the people who will be coming tomorrow, this time I chose students and a family, I wonder what kind of students are they" Mew thought excited about tomorrow
