Chapter 6
As the drug slowly exited the needle and went under the skin into Hannah's vein, the effect was immediate. It was like transforming into another being; color returned to her face. A kaleidoscope of spectrometers danced in her mind as she lay back against the couch and breathed in nice and slow. The pleasure was indescribable. Energy she didn't know she had, caroused through her system like a lightning bolt through an effervescent cloud. Her pupils got wide and it was like waking up from a dormant vampiric state into the land of the living invincibles.
Caddie watched Hannah carefully, gouging each reaction as if she was a medical professional. She had given her just enough so Hannah would feel human again. The truth was that Caddie didn't want Hannah to become addicted to meth, but to just help her old friend out. Caddie wasn't all that sure how meth really worked and she was pretty good at not using too often; she figured it was the same for everyone. As she liked to say; 'if there's a will, there's a way not to use.'
Meanwhile, Hannah was looking at her hands like they were a new part of her body. She had never known strength like that before. Hours passed by but Hannah never noticed anything except what the meth was doing to her illness ridden body. It was euphoric on a level she didn't think any other human had ever experienced; well perhaps not one with an illness as destructive as her own. She was giggling to herself as she grabbed a full beer bottle and chugged the whole thing. She didn't notice Shanel watching her from the doorway.
"Beer ain't nothin. If ya really wanna feel the biggest kick, ya should try speed ballin." Shanel said tumbling over her own words.
"Speed balling; what's that?" Hannah asked her curiously before Caddie could interject.
"Ah I see, ya a newbie then. That's when ya mix several of these concoctions together. Like my personal favorite is coke and heroin. Ain't nothin like it. I have a bit left over, wanna try?" She showed Hannah some powdery stuff and a syringe that looked like it was used a few hundred times. This time Caddie stepped in.
"Piss off Shanel. She's not interested in your bullshit or dirty needles." Caddie stepped in between Shanel and Hannah; the latter looking a bit frightened.
"Whatever bitch. Just wanted to party." Shanel shrugged but backed off as Caddie took Hannah's arm and guided her toward the exit.
"Come on; let's go back to my place. I think you've seen enough of this scene." Hannah nodded in response and let Caddie guide her out the door and into her car. Caddie's place wasn't that far from downtown.
Once they got there, Hannah looked around. Caddie lived in a modest 1 bedroom apartment that was pretty clean. It was getting dark and Hannah's trip on meth was far from over so she didn't want to go home. Caddie had taken a hit hours before running into Hannah and didn't want to sleep either so the two of them just watched movies and talked about their lives. Hannah didn't think she would do meth again just because even in her mind altered state, her rational side told her it would be a really bad idea. They played music and danced in a state of never-ending bliss all night long. It reminded them both of being back in college. At least for a little while they could pretend their lives weren't total messes. Hannah told Caddie all about her visit to Sister Grace and how comforting it was to have her love, blessings, and support no matter what.
The sun rose over the horizon as Chris woke up on the couch. He was stiff from sleeping in the same position all night long. He wiped his mouth from the drool that had seeped down and got up as he heard the keys that were on his thigh, clang to the floor. As he looked around the quiet house, he was confused as to why he had fallen asleep on the couch as opposed to in his bedroom. And where was Hannah? He stumbled toward the bedroom where the door was open and there wasn't anyone there. He knew he was drunk the night before so he wondered if he had missed Hannah somehow. And where had she gone? Though signs pointed to her never being home from last night.
Very slowly, the previous day's events started to trickle back into his mind. Including what he had said to Hannah and meeting Scarlett at the bar. The first filled him with discomfort while the second made him shiver as if she was in the room with him though he knew she was in her own house next door. Without even really meaning to, he started to picture the night before and what would have happened if she would have stayed with him. He also knew he had to get to work so a shower was in order.
As he climbed into the shower and let the hot water beat on his back, he thought back to Scarlett and her ruby lips. His thighs rocketed forward as his hard on became so profound, he had to hold onto the walls with his hands to keep from howling in sexual pleasure. His hand started to work his dick as he imagined his hand was Scarlett's mouth. It didn't take long for him to hit climax and white wash the walls inside the shower. He was stunned at the power of it as he had never experienced anything so raw and uninhibited in his life. He washed himself again to get rid of any traces of what had happened, but when he got out of the shower he was humming.
As he was finishing getting ready for work, Hannah walked through the front door and stopped. She sniffed a little and looked at Chris with a perplexed expression. Chris also noticed something different in Hannah but couldn't put his finger on it. He quickly walked over and dutifully gave her a chaste kiss on the cheek like one would give their mother or sister. Hannah didn't react in any way which puzzled him. Hannah continued to look around and smell the air; she felt like a vampire out of Twilight who had keen senses for the first time in her life.
"Scarlett was here?" Hannah asked a startled Chris point blank.
"Ahhh....yeah.....yeah she was." He stammered not looking his wife in the eyes.
"Why?" Now Hannah leveled her suspicious gaze at her husband.
"Oh.....it was nothing important. She had seen me get back from the bar last night and she came over to see if everything was ok. I was a bit drunk." Chris lied as best he could; though truth be told a lot of it wasn't entirely a lie.
"So you drove home drunk?" Hannah asked without much inflection in her voice.
"Yeah, it was stupid of me. Sorry." He said trying to shrug out of his wife's poignant gaze. He glanced at his watch and grabbed his jacket and briefcase. He was going to be late for work.
Hannah said nothing as he brushed past her but looked after him with a mixture of feelings. Maybe the drug was also making her feel like she was stronger than him mentally. She wondered why it was so bad and illegal. Feeling rejuvenated, she went to grab something to eat from the kitchen as she heard his car start up and drive away. She took things out of her bag and absentmindedly put them on the counter.
After fumbling around the house a bit, she decided to go for a drive and see where it took her. She grabbed her keys and wallet, leaving her cellphone on the counter in the kitchen. She simply forgot it in her haste to leave the house and the smell of Scarlett's overwhelming perfume. She had still a lot of energy so she didn't want to waste it by sitting in the house staring at the walls. She didn't know when the high would end but she was determined to make the best of it while she could. Her experiment into something new thus far was a success and though she didn't plan to ever use meth again, she wanted to talk to some sort of homeopath regarding alternative treatments for her illness. She smiled brightly as she drove away in her white little car.
Chris was at work, trying to concentrate on his computer and spreadsheets on Excel. But that whole morning was just not very thought provoking for him. His mind kept going over and over to the shower experience. Just the mere thought of it made him need to readjust his pants. He smiled at himself and then shook his head because he had deadlines to reach and clients to speak with. He was on the phone with one from Asia when he heard a knock on his door. His jaw slacked and his mind totally went into a swirl when he turned in his chair and saw Scarlett standing in his office with a sly smile on her face. He had to nearly slap himself to make sure this was real. His client meanwhile wondered if the line had gone dead and he called Chris' name a few times before Chris answered.
"Wha....oh Mr. Ching I'm sorry but I have to go....my boss just came into the office." He hung up on his client before the latter could respond then he turned to Scarlett and stammered out.
"H-how did you get in here?"
"Oh I told your secretary I was a consultant here for an appointment regarding renovating your house." She said with a victory smile as Chris' jaw was still somewhere on the floor. He had to put his hand over his mouth just to make sure he wasn't drooling.
"Wh-why are you here?" He asked feeling like he was losing his mind.
"I think you know why." She replied seductively, slowly bringing her hand up and stroking her own breasts that were almost visible through her nearly totally see-through blouse. She had worn a business jacket and scarf on top to get past all of the security.
"Scarlett....." His voice trailed off as he watched her with eyes of a hawk. He couldn't for the life of him remember why he should deny her anything. She held her hand out to him and said:
"It's my lunch hour.....come on."
It was as if the night before she had put him under her spell because he didn't even ask her what she meant but took her hand and followed her out of the door telling his secretary he was going to lunch. She nodded and said that she would take all of the messages for him. He didn't even hear her. She got up as Scarlett and Chris entered the elevator; just as the door closed behind them, she noticed that Chris had left his cellphone on his desk; something he had never done before. She did a suspicious double take on the elevator door.
Meanwhile, down in the parking garage, Chris led Scarlett to his car and opened the door. When they both got in, she quickly snatched the keys from his hand and locked the doors. As he gave her a questioning look, she licked her lips and smiled at him.
"I told you it's my lunch hour, baby. Let me see how juicy you are."
Without, any warning whatsoever, she put her hands on his crotch and undid his fly. She then pulled him out of his pants as he gasped and blasted into her hands. She didn't even flinch but put him into her mouth and started to blow him. He couldn't believe it. Just this morning he was thinking about how amazing this would be in his shower and now it was happening; it was 10 times better than his imagination allowed him to believe. Scarlett hesitated for a moment, drew back up and asked him:
"How hard do you want me to suck you, daddy?"
"Hard." Was all he managed to grind out.
"As you wish; hope you can take it. I'm a hoover, baby." She whispered proudly then continued to do just that. Unlike in the shower, he actually screamed when he came and ground her head with his hand even deeper into his lap until she thought he was going to make her deep throat him. Not that she minded; she could do that too.
As Chris was getting his lights blown out of his dick by his next door neighbor and Hannah was driving around town smiling and talking to herself with so much animation that other drivers thought she had lost her marbles, a scream came from a hallway of St. Bernadette's.
"Someone call 911! It's Sister Grace, she's collapsed!"
The ambulance wailed into the afternoon as it bore the unconscious Sister to the hospital where doctors quickly ran some tests before delivering the devastating news to the Mother Superior. Hannah's cellphone had died and the house phone kept ringing for many hours after which, Chris' had as well. So it kept ringing and ringing and ringing... But there was no one to answer the call.
