30- The Storm

Rudraansh POV

"I am Mayna Mira Thakur Aacharya, daughter of Shashanka Adijeet Thakur former King of Gauda and wife of Harshadip Aacharya." She adjoined her hands at me.

She kept her gaze low and after few seconds she lifted them. My senses heightened with her words. The dots suddenly joining in my mind. Was she the woman I was thinking of? It cannot be.

"He had no second wife and even if she was then where was she all these years?" I eyed at her, her eyes held
Unwavering determination which somehow bothered me.

"I was brought to this palace 22 years ago and was subjected as a dancer in his court" she said with a stiff voice.

I then realised she might be the same woman whom my father wanted dead which means there is a possibility of her to be Miraadhya's mother. My thoughts became blurred with all the possibilities. I didn't want that to be true, Miraadhya cannot be Harshadip's daughter.

"Why a princess of such a powerful kingdom became a dancer and not a Queen?" I asked.

She huffed in anger and shook her head. "That's the life I have led because my husband refused to acknowledge the marriage and treated me like a nobody. And you know whose fault is that? Your father's " she said angrily.

"For as far as I know my father wanted to kill you. So tell me why should I not do it?" I asked.

"He was not as honourable as you think MahaRaja. He has lied to you." she reprimanded.

"Do you honestly think I would believe you? What trickery are you playing here Raja Abhijeet, I didn't expect this from you" I folded my arms on my chest in annoyance as I eyed the woman who was saying such things about Baba

"I have no interest in your business, if I have come here to waste my time on something then it must hold some truth in it. She is my elder sister and if she says she is married to this man, I believe her" he kept his stand.

"It should not even matter whether you are the wife or not. What matters is how does this concern him?" I eyed at Harshadip who kept staring at the woman. I signalled two soldiers to capture him but before they could attempt it they were stopped my Abhijeet's men.

"Don't even think about it." Abhijeet said and I scoffed at him.

"My husband did a very foolish thing and I believe he sent my daughter with you, he threatened her to pretend as Sukanya" the woman said and I snapped my head towards her in shock. I furrowed my eyes when she spoke those words, but the glint in her eyes was entailing the ultier motive it carried.

"I need to sit down for this" I heard Abhijeet saying as he took a seat on one of the chairs, a smug expression plastered on his face which made my palm itch to strangle him right here.

"I request you to let me take my daughter back" she spoke calmly while a ravel of emotions coursed through me with her words.

Was she really Miraadhya's mother? She was Harshadip daughter? Did she again lie to me?  I closed my eyes in annoyance as I felt betrayed yet again for being kept in the dark.

"Your daughter was clearly sent here to harm me, why would I let her go?" I said sternly . Truth is I was not sure whether what she said was correct or not, I cannot put Miraadhya in danger knowing she was poisoned few days back.

"You will if you had known the whole truth. I have no proof of my sayings But now  I want to see my daughter " she said.

I furrowed my eyes at her.

"She is not-"

"Miraadhya come out, I know you are hiding behind that chair" she shouted and glanced towards a chair to her left.

I thinned my brows as I felt my pulse increasing when I saw her slowly moving up, revealing herself. She was wearing an attendee's cloth and had tears in her eyes as she looked at me intensely.

I clicked my tounge and bit my lips in anger when I saw her walking towards the woman.

"Rajaji I did not-" she started but I showed her my palm.

"Stop" I said.

"Is she your mother?" I asked her but she kept staring at me.

"Rajaji please I didn't-"

"Is. She.Your.Mother?" I asked again controlling my anger.

After a few seconds she nodded as a cry left her mouth.

Lies. I laughed internally as I held my head.

"You are his daughter ?" I pointed towards the man for whom I had pure hatred but now all I could think about how she lied to me. Again.

And I was fooled. Again.

"Rajaji..Rudraansh..I" she approached me.

"Answer the god damn question!" I yelled at her and she immediately backed off.

"Do not shout at my daughter !" the lady said.

I scoffed at theirs hypocrisy.

"Yes...yes I am his daughter . I was about to tell you...." she whispered as she looked at me.

I nodded my head. I looked everywhere except her, the emotions were unravelling within me and a tear threatened to escape my eyes but I stopped it.

She truly was a vixen. A witch to bewitch me and become my end.

"It's okay my dear, you can drop the act, we will protect you and you are safe with us. No need to lie anymore " her mother caressed her face.

I fisted my palms as I stared at her innocent face, her beautiful eyes which lied to me so easily.

"You bitch!" I heard Kakima screaming behind me as she approached Miraadhya with quick steps.

I held Kakima arms stopping her from reaching her. "I knew! You are a witch, a devil who came to our life!!!" She threw her heavy necklace at her which hit her head.

It created a huge cut on her forehead as she held her head in pain, the blood covering her hands.

Her mother immediately came in front to hold Kakima but Miraadhya held her hand.

"Please stop!" She sobbed as her breathing became fast.

I looked at her with concern, my heart telling me to aid her but I stopped. She didn't deserve it. Not anymore.

"Kakima let me handle this please" I said to her softly as she looked at me with tearful eyes and nodded slowly, she eyed her dangerously as she calmed down.

"So you are giving me Harshadip in place of your daughter's life?" I snapped.

She shook her head. "Yes and also We have another condition" she said and a thought of killing them all here crossed my mind.

"What condition?" I took a heavy breath.

"You have to marry Princess Sukanya" She said and I looked at her in disbelief

"Maa what are you doing!" Miraadhya pleaded her as she could not stop crying.

"You are to be wed next month! All the things have been planned out and you are revolting?" her mother accused as I was stunned hearing her words.

"We....wed?" She whispered as she eyed me but I looked elsewhere, the stiffness in my heart growing.

"Why you want me to marry Sukanya, what will it give you? You are not even her real mother" I asked.

"Let's just say I am fulfilling a promise I made to myself. You understand promises, you have made one to your father on his death bed." She said with a scoff and for a moment I was stunned to see the evilness in her. Her words piercing right through me.

"And what if I don't agree?" I asked sucking my own breath.

"Harshadip has got our protection, so now if you want him you have to fight us. The war can kill hundreds of men. And of course you can attack us now also but that would mean the son of great ruler Bikramjeet used trickery and dishonourable means to attack on a peaceful and unarmed King" Abhijeet said as he stood up standing beside
her.

"That news will not settle well with people right." he smirked.

"Why are you doing this? Going to such lengths " I said as my gaze wondered to her bleeding head. It was still bleeding lightly.

"You understand revenge well more than me. You attacked a kingdom for a promise you made to your father, to take revenge from his murderer. I am taking my revenge as well and simply giving you the opportunity to take yours." she said calmly

"And what is your revenge?" I dared to ask.

"You carry your father's blood and both me and my daughter have suffered enough because of him. His death was the happiest day of my life" she said and I took out my knife and pointed at her in anger.

But My way was blocked by Miraadhya as she came between me and her mother, her red eyes daring me to go ahead as my steps faltered.

I looked at her with a mixture of emotions as tears rolled down her eyes.
The truth of her betrayal seeping into my nerves making me more weak and broken from inside. The anger within me increased as I felt more hurt and pain.

She was the daughter of my enemy, her entire family is based on lie . Even after what we have gone through she still lied.

These people putting conditions in front of me didn't even affect me for the tiniest bit, for all I care I can crush them easily. I could easily wage a war against Kingdom Gauda. I could even let Harshadip live with his life. But At this point I didn't even care about my revenge.

What I cared was how she kept me in dark. How I was opening my heart to hers and she crushed it in moments.

I held her hand and pulled her closer. She gasped as her hand hit my chest which broke her glass bangles into pieces.

"I will never forget this. Never forget your betrayal. I hate lies and still I forgave you but now you will see what I am capable of" I whispered angrily at her as she shivered under me.

"Okay! " I looked at her bulging eyes, not tearing away my eyes from her as I dropped her hand.

"I will marry Sukanya. I will maker her Queen of Harikel! You want to see me in misery.? I will show you what misery is" I said as her mother held Miraadhya's hand tightly pulling her to herself.

"Guards! Lock Harshadip in a cell." I shouted as men came to chain him.

I looked at Miraadhya for a good few minutes, all the memories of these days suffocating my mind, her truth didn't hurt me but rather her lies pierced me in Ways which cannot be mended.

"You should know your daughter and I have slept together " I stated as I could see the shock in her eyes.

"What does it makes your daughter when she is spending her nights and giving herself to a King" I said sarcastically, even though I knew this would ruin her for life I still said it. I want to hurt her , put her in pain I am feeling now.

"It would make her a mistress" I said with a smirk.

"Nonsense !" Her mother shouted as she looked at her daughter in shock. "Tell me he is lying! Tell me you didn't sleep with him" she yelled but her eyes were still staring at me.

I could see the sadness in her eyes as I uttered those words. I have hurt her. I myself have lied and hurt her

"Do let that man know whom she is going to marry that she is King's Rudraansh's mistress" I said finally and could see are demeanour breaking, she looked at me with hatred and hurt and I devoured that feeling.

"He is lying Maa. Nothing happened" Miraadhya managed to mutter.

I scoffed. "Your innocent daughter is not so innocent! " I opened the few strings of my front kurta to expose my chest which was marked by her that night, they had become a shade darker.

"Ask your daughter who did this?" I said shamelessly as I saw her getting humiliated in front of her own mother.

I was crossing a line, a line that I should have drawn between us , but she again betrayed me and that pain was making me blind with rage.

I saw her mother lowering her gaze in shame as I covered myself , she looked at her daughter and did not hesitate to slap her face hard, the sound of which made me flinch. She didn't utter a single sound of pain as she looked at me. I felt my eyes burning with tears.

"You find a man and don't hesitate to drop your shame! Maybe last time also it was your fault, you must have seduced that man who you blamed forced you!" She yelled and something within me snapped at her words.

I fisted my knuckles realising my mistake, seeing how her words could affect her. I saw Miraadhya shaking , her eyes resembling mine - of hurt.

"Take your daughter. I am coming to Gauda to marry Sukanya. As a wedding gift I will present her father's head to her" I said in anger as I asked the guards to escort them out.
