So basically in this Au Mia and Akira's mother had been friends through high school and up to the point Mia's mother passed away. This, in turn, led to Touma allowing Mia to grow up alongside Akira. Touma and Akira's father had worked together during this period. Though after something had occurred between them at work, Touma had decided it would be best to run away from his problems and move. Thus separating his daughter from her childhood friend. The first few years apart were beyond hard on the two, which made Mia become antisocial as she didn't want to lose another friend. While Akira would constantly sit on the porch or wait by the door in hopes of seeing the small brunette with a new stuffed animal in her arms. Though eventually, the two had moved on assuming the other had forgotten about them.
