Your POV
I smiled, opening my eyes. I was still laying in bed, the covers laying at the edge of the bed.
I felt a pair of arms wrap around me, then pull me closer to him.
"Morning, Garroth." I softly said, giggling.
"Morning sunshine." Garroth replied, whispering in my ear.
I tried to sit up, but Garroth pulled me back down.
"Garroth, we need to get up." I said, facing him.
"But it's early and cold." Garroth said, hugging me.
"Well, if you'd let me up, I can fix that."
Garroth let go of me and I sat up, grabbing the blanket from the side of the bed. I pulled the blanket over his body and got off the bed.
"Why not stay?" Garroth asked, looking at me.
"Well, someone's got to go on patrol. It's either me or Casper does."
Garroth chuckled. "Alright, I get it girly. But, I thought you're off today?"
"Well, you think that Dante'll do it? Whenever it's a holiday, Kawaii~Chan keeps him at home or something. It's Valentine's Day so, she's probably wanting to do something speacial with him."
"And that's why I wish you didn't need to go." Garroth said, sitting up.
"I know. But don't worry, I'll be back in a bit."
"Okay."
I smiled at him, then walked out of the room.
"Hey, (y/n)!" Andrea said, walking over to me.
A large smile was beaming across her face. She handed me a card, then smiled.
"Happy Valentine's Day."
I smiled, then wrapped my arms around her.
"Thanks, Andre. That's so sweet of you."
"No problem! Anyway, there is an invitation for you and Garroth too so, yeah. I got to give these to everyone else. I'll see you later!"
She ran back over to the balcony and jumped off, the same as she always did.
Didn't use the ladder unless coming up. Other than that, she would jump off the balcony every time.
I smiled, then went down the ladder, the card still in my hand.
I passed the kitchen, where Laurance was looking into the oven.
I paused, then looked at him.
"Uh, hi Laurance."
Laurance shot his head up, banging it on the over handle.
"Ah!" Laurance exclaimed, rubbing the back of his head.
I giggled. "You okay, Laurance? That looked like it hurt."
He looked at me, cake batter splattered on part of his face. I almost laughed.
"Yeah. I'm fine. Andrea surprised me earlier. That's why I have batter on my face."
"What did you do? Stick your face in the pan?"
Laurance scoffed. "Pfft. No! My hand hut the spoon and then the spoon hit me in the face, splattering batter all. Over. Me."
He pointed at his apron and jeans. There was cake splattered all over him.
"I see that. Now you look like Kawaii~Chan's twin brother." I teased.
"Ha. Ha. Very funny. I look more like the Cake Monster."
I giggled. "Well, fine. I get it. Anyway. I'll see you later."
I was ready out the door before Laurance responded.
The gates grew above me as I got closer.
After my shift, I could show Garroth my surprise.
*******************************************
"Garroth, stop trying to look! Just follow me."
I softly pulled on Garroth's arm, bringing him towards the spot.
I was planning on spending time with Garroth alone but, somewhere where Andrea wasn't taking Laurance.
"(y/n), why are you bringing me here in the first place?"
"You wanted to spend time with me right? Just, trust me on this. Okay?"
"Okay. I trust you, girly."
Andrea's POV
"Laurance, did you try to... make a cake for me?!"
I looked at Laurance, who had just uncovered my eyes.
"Yup. Surprise! Happy Valentine's Day." Laurance said, kissing my cheek.
"Aw, that's so sweet of you! Literally! How long did it take to make this?!"
Laurance chuckled. "Well, without Kawaii~Chan's help, it took a few tries baking it right but, it was worth seeing your reaction."
"Dude. This is so nice! What type of flavor is it? Does it taste good?"
"It's just red-colored vanilla with Strawberry frosting."
Oh my Irene. That's... like, my FAVORITE. Other than cheesecake.
I giggled, then smiled. "Thanks."
"No problem. Anything for you, Andrea."
He grabbed my hand, our fingers entwined together.
"Want to eat it now or wait?"
I thought of (y/n) and Garroth. Maybe they'd like to have some of it too.
"Let's wait. And, I have something for you."
I grabbed my small bag and pulled out a card.
"You made a card for me?" Laurance said as I set the card in his hand.
"Of course! Only, I worked a bit harder on this one than the others."
Laurance unfolded it and smiled.
"You've kept that locket I gave you, right?"
I pulled on the chain from around my neck softly.
"Yup."
Laurance took the small picture from the card. He held the locket open in his palm and put the picture inside of it.
"You should keep the picture. Then, if I am away, you can remember me by it."
I smiled, then held the locket loosely.
"Thanks." I whispered, letting the locket hang from my neck.
Laurance smiled, then kissed the tip of my nose.
"Happy Valentine's Day."
Aphmau's POV
"Really? Wow, just, I'm so sorry."
"No, it's fine. It's in the past. I won't dwell on it for the rest of my life."
I smiled at Aaron. He told me about his old village. I felt sorry for him. I held his hand softly, trying to make him feel better.
He looked at our hands, then back at me. He smiled.
"Thanks, Aph." Aaron said, wrapping an arm around my side.
"You're welcome. Anything for a friend."
Aaron smiled softly, a part of me wanting to smile until I died.
Your POV
"Okay, you can look. It isn't special, but it's a memory."
I moved my hands away from Garroth's eyes, then walked forwards.
We were at the exact place where we met.
"You still remember this place, don't you."
I nodded. "How can I forget?"
"(y/n), this is great. Really. And, I have something for you and to ask you."
Garroth pulled out a little box from his pocket.
I looked at him, confused. He smiled at me, making me want to know what he was doing.
A moment later, he was on one knee and held the box in front of him.
I just stood there, my emotions wanting me to scream.
Was he... No, he wouldn't be... Would he?
"(y/n), we've known each other for a really long time. And, I love you with all my heart."
"Garroth, where are you going with this?"
He smiled softly. "And, even with spending the last, almost thriteen years being with you, I want to spend the rest of my life with you also."
What is he doing?! My heartbeat was going lightning speeds, making me feel even more anxious to what he was saying.
He opened the small box. A golden ring was inside of it.
My hand covered my mouth. There were legitimately no words to describe this.
"(y/n), will you marry me?"
My hand fell from my mouth. Tears of joy started to come from my eyes.
"Yes." I said, amsot about to die from my happiness.
No words described my emotions.
He smiled and slid the ring onto my finger. A moment later, he stood up and smiled at me.
I instantly wralled my arms around his neck, holding my face close to his.
"Yes." I said, softer than earlier.
Garroth didn't answer. He pressed his lips against mine, kissing me.
Everything in the world stopped. Time stopped. All I cared about was that I was with Garroth.
I kissed him back, wishing everything would never end. A smile crossed my face. My arms fell to my sides.
Garroth softly touched my hands, then held them in his.
I pulled away, holding my head so our foreheads touched lightly.
"Yes." I repeated again, then Garroth smiled at me.
"Yes." He whispered back.
I closed my eyes, then smiled.
I was happy we could be together now.
