Truly Beautiful (Aaron × Aurora)
Aurora
I leaned against the wall, coughing. My head was over a trash can.
"Ha!" The girls laughed. "Look who can't stomach anything!"
My breath was shaking. It hurt.
It's. A. Disorder. Get it through your thick heads...
It was never ending...
"Hey! Get out other, creeps!" A familiar voice yelled at the girls before they all scampered out.
I didn't look up, not able to.
The person walked over and pulled my hair back. "Sorry I couldn't get here faster... I got stopped by a teacher. Again." She softly said.
"It's fine Kilan..." I choked out.
It was about five minutes before I could stand upright again.
My friend Mykayla smiled at me.
She was the only person who understood that I can't eat things like junk food... Which someone switched out my lunch on purpose to do...
It makes me go into an allergic reaction and... have to do this...
My hand was covered in ice cold water as I hit myself in the face with it. It felt better than before, making Mykayla giggle.
"Hey... You want to come with me after school somewhere? I'm going with a few friends out to eat... It's not a junk food place." Mykayla asked me.
I looked at her. "Sure? But... Why do you want me to go?"
Mykayla smiled. "You're my best friend, silly. Why wouldn't I want you to go?"
I sighed. "I'm not exactly... What people say... 'best friend looking material'."
Mykalya laughed lightly. "Look at the mirror."
I quizzically looked at her before doing so.
She smiled as she walked up behind me. "You are beautiful. And who said best friends have to look better than each other?"
I looked at her in the reflection. "You do though..."
Mykayla giggled. "That's because my mom wants me to do things like make-up and my hair."
I looked down. "I wish I had a mom like that..."
Mykayla comfortingly looked at me. "Hey... Hey it's okay... Sorry... I didn't mean to bring it up like that..." Her voice sounded sorry.
I was quiet. "It's fine..."
My mom divorced my dad when I was nine... She left and... Left me behind...
My dad has never been himself since... He always is solitary and gets drunk a lot now... Trying to forget her...
He loved her so much... But she just got angry about one mistake... And overreacted...
Mykayla and I went out, slipping lunch since it was almost over and we went into the music room.
Mykayla stopped. "We shouldn't be in here..." She whispered.
I was halfway in the room. "What do you mean?"
"He's here... He'll hurt you... He hurts everyone that goes in there during lunch!" Mykayla whisper-yelled.
I frowned. "He can't be that bad, Mykayla... He's a sweetheart."
Mykayla's eyes suddenly widened before she left, in a hurry from being scared.
I sighed. "Okay... You kinda need to stop scaring people." I turned around.
The guy there shrugged. "If it means we're alone, I'm fine with it.." He chuckled lightly.
I giggled softly, rolling my eyes.
There was a really long bell ring.
"Wait... It's a half day?" I asked.
My friend nodded. "Yeah. You didn't know?"
"I probably did until I had an episode in The bathroom..." I looked down.
He sighed before leading me over to one of the practice rooms and closing the door.
I looked at my hands as we sat down, him beside me.
"What happened?" He asked.
"Someone switched out my lunch... So because I can't eat junk food, I went into the bathroom and all the girls in their were laughing..." I sighed.
My stomach hurt.
"I'm sorry..." My friend softly said, rubbing my back.
I leaned against his shoulder. "I hate being different..."
He chuckled. "Welcome to the club." He whispered as he put his head on top of mine.
I didn't smile from his joke. I didn't have it in me...
Then I did the worst thing possible: start crying.
He looked really surprised. "Rorie..."
"Why do you even like me... I'm this stupid mess that can't eat or do or say anything..." I softly said as tears piled more into my eyes.
Aaron sighed quietly. "You're not any of that..."
"Well I'm not normal!" I shouted through tears, backing up and standing.
He sat there for a moment with a frown.
"I'm freaking useless. I make everyone think I am a stupid person that can't stomach anything and is too-" I just was a crying mess as I said things.
"Aurora Liana Raneer." Aaron said as he stood up.
I jumped lightly.
"Do I look like I care. About all that Crap you just said of yourself." He looked at me, the most serious face I've ever seen him have.
I looked down before slowly shaking my head.
He walked over and embraced me in a hug. "Then don't care about it. Because it's all wrong."
I stayed silent, wanting to cry more but didn't.
He pulled away and sat me down. He kneeled slightly in front of me. "Look at me."
I slightly looked up, looking at his eyes. The scar on his cheek was from helping me in a fight his first day of junior year this year...
"You are amazing. You are smart. You made a guy out of a beast. You make everyone who really knows you smile. And the most out of everything I could say out of all of the things in the world is the fact that you are beautiful. Your smile, your eyes, the dimples in your cheeks." He smiled as he touched my cheek.
I giggled quietly.
"Your laugh, giggle, singing, dancing, everything. Do not let anyone, even yourself, tell you anything different." Aaron said to me.
I smiled softly. "You really think all of that?" I softly asked.
He nodded softly. "You know Why?"
I took a moment before nodding.
He smiled. "Because I love you." He gently held my hands as he stood up.
He chuckled as I stood up, just almost matching his height. I'm just a whole head shorter.
He kissed the top of my head before embracing me in hug once more.
"Hey Aaron?" I softly whispered, standing on my toes.
"Mhm?" He asked, looking at me.
I giggled before touching My forehead to his.
"I love you too." I whispered with a smile, not hiding my dimpled cheeks.
He chuckled before he gently touched his lips to mine in a very, very gentle kiss.
Everyone thinks of him as this mean, tough kid who doesn't have a soul to love him.
That's where they are all wrong. Because I am here with him.
