Baking with Matthew was always relaxing, it was fun for sure, if you both ever needed a stress reliever you'd break out the sugar and bowls.

Every minute with Matthew, besides the intimate ones, always felt wholesome. The way he would smile, his childish antics, his simple want to protect you, nothing but wholesome.

You were grateful he was in your life. You don't know where you'd be without-

"Careful!"

Your embracive thoughts were cut short as Matthew firmly grabbed your hand.

"You almost cut your finger off.."

Blinking you remembered your surroundings and remembered you were slicing strawberries, looking down you saw your finger replaced the strawberry and was directly under the knife.

Luckily Matthew caught your hand in time, but the knife still made an incision, there was a small gash in your finger, a bit of blood coming to the surface from it.

"O-oh.. uh-"

"I'll get you a towel"

Matthew was quick to go and grab you a cloth, he ran it under some water before gently placing it on your still bleeding finger.

"Does it hurt?"

"Huh..? Uh.. no, it doesn't" You were still kind of in a daze and felt no pain from it.

"I guess your body was still in shock, that's good.. I think" Matthew was just as lost as you were has he held the small wet towel around your index, "I told you I didn't think it was a good idea for you to help out after taking a NyQuil"

That's right, you were heading to bed and Matthew was going to stay up and bake cupcakes for James's upcoming good together..

"It was worth spending time with you"
