Marinette was the head barista at the local coffee shop that she opened, which was connected to right next to her parents bakery. She enjoyed meeting new people everyday and tried to make everyone's day happier. This was a challenge when she first met the avid customer, Adrien Agreste.

When Adrien would enter with his saddened face in his dark suit and big suitcase, she always felt bad for the guy. She never knew if it were things about work, mortgage or anything along those lines, but she really did want to help him just be brighter in the morning. She made sure to be extra kind and funny to him by adding a few terrible puns here and there. She sometimes even thrower in a free latté, since it was his favorite drink.

Adrien would show up every other day, and slowly he started to feel better with himself and the world around him. Even Marinette remembered the day he first smiled. It was when she once again made a terrible pun of how she poured the milk into the latté and accidentally spilled it all over herself. Her co-workers scolded her for being so reckless, and all Adrien could do was laugh. It made Marinette smile to finally see him laugh and smile for the first time, it made her think she accomplished a short-term goal.

Then, Marinette soon started to sit down with Adrien and chatted with her. Adrien gave her the nickname of "Bashful Barista," but would call her Marinette from time to time. They would have small conversations about how their life was and who they were as a person. Marinette would always end up being the first to leave, being the fact that she had to continue on work with her friends. Adrien would just watch and observe what she was like from a distance, just to see how she was like with others around people. Marinette would still be the same loud, obnoxious, bubbly girl that he feel for.

The two soon started to flirt with eachother, leaving subtle hints with little winks and hugs. It was too obvious that they fell for eachother.

"You have a thing for him, don't you girl." Marinette's friend Alya asked while pouring the espresso.

"W-What?" Marinette stammered and quickly slammed the kettle filled with tea. "Don't be ridiculous, honey. Everybody knows." Alya stated. The whole crew said some yeahs and gave a few nods. All Marinette could do was sigh, she never knew it became that obvious.

"Oh god, he may know as well too." Marinette brought her two hands up to her head and rubbed them up and down her head out of frustration as she paced the hall back in forth. Some of the customers in line poked out to the side to see what all the fuss was about. As well as to see why a strange bluenette was prancing around the whole entire shop.

"Oh, come on. He likes you too. Here, why don't you just make a heart-shaped design on his latté and leave your number?" Alya shrugged. Marinette stopped and placed her hands now on her on her hip and mouth, nodding. "That isn't such a bad idea... But I can't even do that. All I know is how to make flowers and little swirls."

"Practice makes perfect, Marinette."

And so, her self-training began. She stayed after the shop closed for a few hours, to practice to her hearts content. Marinette ended up wasting a lot of coffee, and in the end, she had it perfect.

The next day when Adrien showed up, he ordered his regular latté and greeted Marinette. She nodded back and made the latté as gently as she possibly could, making sure she poured the milk perfectly. Once she was done, she placed the latté and their shops signature chocolate made by her father. She slipped the small curled up piece of paper right on top of the square piece and placed it on Adrien's table with a blush. "H-Here you go..." She muttered.

When she walked back to the table, she stood behind and waited until he opened the small wad of paper. When he did, he ended up blushing after reading it, knowing that it was hers. She gave a sheepish smile and he soon left after, not saying goodbye.

That night, she received a call from an unknown number.

"Hello, my Bashful Barista."

"Hello, my Latté Lover."

A sweet ending, eh?
Idk I thought this writing prompt that I made up was absolutely adorable, and I'm pretty proud of it. There are probably some spelling and grammar errors, (it's 1 am in Ireland) so please do tell me if I have any. :^)
