BEFORE THE NIGHTMARE
⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰
IF there was one thing Adela hated, it was being bothered. Not that it was a huge thing or anything but she simply didn't like it when her teammates would tease her about her hot headed attitude. In fact, one time she let Richard borrow her favorite pencil and he miraculously lost it. He didn't hear the end of it for weeks, constantly being reminded of it by Adela. He wasn't the only victim of Adela's wrath. Just one of the many. The only ones who haven't fallen under it were Barry Burton, Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine. Hell, she could never get mad at Jill Valentine.
If Jill did any little thing that annoyed her, she'd brush it off pretending that nothing ever happened. Many people on the team would often ask her about her bias towards Jill and she'd just respond with, "It's a girl thing, you wouldn't understand." While technically, it was a girl thing, it wasn't.
Adela was always fond of Jill but not in the way you'd think of. She'd just dream of the day she'd ask Jill out and no one would pester them about. She dreamed of the day she could place her lips on hers and no one would give them dirty glares or shout out them with vile words. Just one day she'd be able to find out if Jill feels the way around her. Sadly, people in the nineties couldn't mind their business when it came to people loving each other.
Though Adela didn't have a problem with telling people straight up that she was a lesbian, she still hadn't told her teammates about it. She didn't feel the need to be fetishized by their gross fantasies.
Finally Wesker finished speaking, heading back into his office while everyone else started packing up. Adela had no idea what he said and honestly she couldn't care less. After this mission she was out of Raccoon City and back to Ohio.
Adela grabbed her bag and immediately made her way to Jill's desk, furrowing her eyebrows at the conversation she was having with Chris. Though Adela liked Chris, she couldn't help but be envious of him. He was practically the celebrity on the team and he was very close to Jill. If Jill wasn't hanging out with Adela, she was hanging out with Chris. She knows that shouldn't be as clingy but it was annoying. Just imagining Jill going on a date with Chris drove her absolutely nuts.
"So, I was wondering if you're gonna hang out with the guys and I tonight? We're going to the bar nearby." Chris informed, only for Jill to shake her head.
"I'd love to but I have plans with Adela." Jill gave Chris an apologetic smile, slinging her bag onto her back. "Maybe next time."
"Oh, that's fine." Chris gave Jill a small understanding smile. "I'll see you tomorrow."
"Alright. See you later." Jill said her goodbyes, watching as he left the room. Adela then made her way over to Jill with a small smile on her face.
"Heyy, guess who's ready for tonight?" Adela sang.
"Not me." Jill responded with a playful smile.
"Anxious about tomorrow's mission?" Adela inquired, Jill shaking her head at her question. "Then what is it?" Adela placed a hand on her hips and leaned against Jill's desk.
"It's just that it's our last sleepover. Are you sure you wanna have Raccoon City?" Jill questioned, playing with her fingers. "I mean, it's not that bad. You got the team and your favorite bakery here." Adela let out a small chuckle, finding Jill's attempt to keep her here cute.
"I'm absolutely positive I want to leave this shit hole." Adela said. "But don't worry, I'll always visit you, Chris and Barry. Mostly you though." She placed a hand on Jill's chin for a quick second, Jill's cheeks heating up at her touch.
"T-that's great." She stuttered, somewhat glad that Adela pulled her hand away. Not because she didn't like it but because she wasn't supposed to be feeling this way about a girl. Adela was only a friend and nothing more. Seeing her as something different was wrong... that was what society said anyways.
"If I spend one more minute in this shitty police station I'm gonna lose it." Adela made her way towards the door with Jill trailing behind her as quickly as possible.
The two quickly made their way out of the police station and into Adela's car. Adela fanned herself once Jill got in. "Ay dios mio, it's hot as hell up in here." She sighed, pressing the button to her AC, to her avail, not turning on. "Are you fucking kidding me?" She cursed, pounding on the thing.
Jill couldn't focus on the problem at hand but just found herself staring at Adela. The amount of butterflies she got when Adela spoke Spanish was just too much. She was just so beautiful and Jill couldn't help but stare.
"Not only do I need to pay rent when I get to Ohio next week, but I need have this piece of junk fixed." Adela sighed in frustration, running a hand through her hair.
"Delly, it's fine. I can—."
"There's no way in hell I'm letting you pay for my jacked up air conditioner. You can forget about that." She interrupted, buckling her seatbelt. Jill did the same as Adela started making her way towards her apartment.
Jill looked out the window, watching as people walked up and down the streets. Everything felt eerily normal. Kids were racing up and down streets, adults were closing shops or opening shops to say the least. Everything was oddly normal. A bit too normal for Raccoon City. Jill brushed it off, rolling down the window to get some air.
"We'll get there eventually.."
After driving for quite a bit, the two finally got to Adela's apartment and were currently laying on the floor, trying their best to take in the air conditioner the best they could. For someone who was moving, Adela had all of her things packed away neatly. Adela was quite the clean freak, often keeping her things nice and tidy, growing a bit uncomfortable at even a little bit of mess.
Growing up, Adela's mother was very keen on having everything clean always saying, "No hay nada mas satisfactorio que volver a casa con una casa limpia." That basically meant, there's nothing more satisfying than coming home to a clean house and honestly, Adela couldn't have agreed more.
The two laid there, enjoying the feeling of the cool air hitting their bodies. "This is much better than sitting in a hot car." Adela commented, Jill letting out a hum in agreement.
"Surprised you didn't make a pit stop at the gas station for snacks." Jill commented, only for Adela to let out a small scoff.
"You said you didn't want anything. Besides, our pizza should be here soon."
"Did you remember—."
"To get the meat lover's deluxe? Yes, Valentine. I did." She chuckled, Jill blushing a bit. She knew her so well. It was going to suck watching her leave next week. However, she just wanted Adela to be happy and if she wasn't happy here, then that was all that mattered.
"Okay, let's do something." Adela sat up, Jill sitting up afterwards. "Let's play fuck, marry, kill." Adela suggested, resulting in a grimacing Jill.
"What are we? In high school?" She cringed, only for Adela to shoot her a playful glare.
"We are now." She joked. "Anyways, let's start." Jill let out an annoyed sigh, motioning her to start. Adela was so childish sometimes. She found it a bit annoying at times but also comforting in a way.
"Fuck, marry, kill... Chris, Barry or Brad." Jill let out another groan, rubbing her forehead.
"Gross, Adela." She commented, only for Adela to hold her hands up in defense.
"Hey, I told you what game we were playing didn't I? Now, c'mon choose. This'll be good." She pulled her knees close to her chest, awaiting for Jill's answer.
Jill stood quiet for a minute before opening her mouth. "Okay? I'd marry Chris." Adela rolled her eyes at that choice, finding it to be a bit predictable. "I'd fuck... oh god— Barry." Jill couldn't even continue due to Adela letting out a roaring laugh.
"Damn Jill, I didn't think you were into dilfs." She teased, with Jill throwing a pillow at the woman's face.
"Shut up." She blushed, shaking her head in embarrassment. "And I'd kill Brad.. no offense though."
"Interesting choices." Adela wiped some stray tears from her eyes. "Okay, my turn."
"Oh alright." Jill thought about the team for a minute before giving Adela a sinister smirk. "Fuck, marry, kill... Wesker, Chris or Richard." She presented, Adela immediately thinking about those choices.
"I'd fuck Wesker, for sure." She responded , receiving a confused look from Jill. "I don't like the guy but you gotta admit, there's something hot about people who wear glasses indoors." She explained.
"Alright... continue." Jill shivered a bit from her response, listening closely to Adela's next choices.
"I'd marry Chris and then I'd kill that fucking thief Richard." She answered.
"Oh c'mon, that happened a year ago." Jill rolled her eyes, only to see Adela work crossed arms.
"And it shows that you can't trust him." She shrugged, with Jill shaking her head once again.
"Alright, let's do one more round and then I'm putting a movie on." Jill nodded, waiting for Adela.
"Fuck, marry, kill... Me, Joseph, or Wesker." She proposed, Jill feeling her heart beat a little. Why would she add herself into the equation? Was this a test? She didn't know what kind of test but it just felt weird.
"Anytime now, Jill." Adela sang, Jill nodding at her words.
"Alright... I'd fuck Joseph, kill Wesker and marry... you." She finished the last part quietly, Adela feeling her heart swoon a bit.
'Don't get your hopes up, Delly. She's probably just choosing you cause she's your best friend.' Adela gave Jill a playful smirk, nudging her shoulder.
"Crushing on me a bit, Valentine?" She teased, poking her nose a bit.
"I— n-no. I had to choose someone a-and w-why wouldn't I chose you?" Jill mentally cursed herself at the enormous amount of stuttering.
'Nice going, Jill. That wasn't obvious at all.' She cleared her throat, presenting her options.
"Alright. Fuck, marry, kill... me, Forest or Brad." Jill presented, Adela shifting a little bit closer to the woman next to her.
"I'd fuck Brad, kill Forest and definitely marry you." Jill felt her heart beat race at the speed of light. They were just so close to each other now. She could practically felt Adela's breath on her's.
"D-definitely?" Jill stuttered, feeling her throat go dry.
"Definitely." Adela confirmed, gazing into Jill's blue eyes. Everything just felt so right. Just the two of them so close together, their bodies just so close as well. There was definitely some tension between them and it needed to be released.
Without hesitation, Jill leaned over and placed her soft pink lips on top of Adela's red ones. Adela shocked by the sudden touch, gives in and places a hand on Jill's cheek. Jill couldn't believe what she was doing. Never in a million years did she think she'd ever be kissing a girl, let alone her best friend. For some odd reason, it just felt so right.
The two carried on for what seemed like hours, ignoring the constant ringing of the doorbell. Jill was now straddling Adela and Adela's hands were placed on Jill's hips, squeezing them ever so slightly as they kissed.
Adela started kissing down Jill's neck, Jill letting out a small moan, tugging on them hem of Adela's shirt. Adela quickly took her shirt off, latching her lips onto Jill's neck, sucking and kissing over a sweet spots.
Jill let out a moan, tilting her back a bit. 'Wait a minute, what are you doing Jill?? You shouldn't be doing this. Get out of there now!'
"Stop.. stop!" Adela stopped, furrowing her eyebrows at her friend.
"Did I do something wrong? Was I hurting you?" She inquired, Jill shaking her head.
"Coming here was a mistake.. this shouldn't have happened." Jill climbed off Adela, quickly grabbing her bag from the couch.
"Jill, what are you talking about?" Adela asked, grabbing her shirt. She pulled her shirt on and followed Jill to the door, watching as she pulled on her shoes.
"All of this. I shouldn't have done this." Jill let out a small sob, shaking her head as she opened the door.
"Jill, what are you—." Before Adela could finish her sentence, Jill slammed the door and left with tears rolling down her face.
"Talking about.."
i'm trying to get better
at my kissing scenes
cause i make them so
damn awkward. did i
do okay with this one?
don't be afraid to give
me some constructive
criticism!
anyways, i kinda feel
bad for jill. she obviously
feels something for adela
but she's not sure if she
wants to explore that side
of herself. i took into
account that people weren't
as accepting in the 90s, so
making jill constantly have
that in her head was a VERY
crucial part of this.
i hope you enjoyed this
chapter! chapter one
should be out soon 💞
me writing two fanfics
at once? so bizarre!
