Part 2: Chapter 4 - The Battle Begins
Those words made my heart stop for that one moment. They kept ringing in my head, and the more I think about it, the more confused I got.
However, trying to figure out the meaning of the words was not the most important thing currently.
I began to head out to Herobrine's hideout. I tried not to think about the battle as I walked past a few familiar sights.
As soon as I walked out of an oak forest, I was greeted by an unfamiliar sight. A birch forest stood in front of me and I took a deep breath.
I checked my compass - in case I was going the wrong direction - and took a hesitant step in the strange woods.
Various bunnies of different fur colours and sizes hopped past me, oblivious to what was happening outside their mindset.
It seems so peaceful here, I thought, relaxing slightly.
The birch leaves swayed gently as a light breeze picked up. It was cooling and gentle, yet something told me it was not as harmless as it seemed.
The breeze began to pick up speed, causing the branches of trees to tremble.
The wind was becoming even stronger by the minute and I had to hold onto the trunk of a random birch tree to hold on.
Chickens clucked in terror as they were carried away by the wind. Leaves were dismantled from the branches and weaker, smaller branches broke off from the tree.
I continued to clutch the birch tree, not letting go until the fierce wind had eased.
The chickens flapped their wings rapidly as they slowly fell from the sky. Nervously, I thought about the strange weather. It was an obvious sign by Herobrine to stay away.
I swallowed the fear that kept lingering in my stomach and continued forward.
~~~~
My destination was close. I could feel an onimous presence and the more I walked, the closer the presence became.
I reached the start of a broken stone path. The cobblestone was very mossy and grass was growing over the pathway.
Despite the sun, I felt a chill running down my spine as I took another step forward to meeting Herobrine.
Clouds began to cover the sun. I squinted my eyes to take a closer look at the huge structure in front of me. I realised that the structure was a castle and that I had reached my destination.
I pulled out my diamond sword, slightly reassured by the powerful aura of its enchantments.
I put my hand on the half rotten, wooden door and pushed it. The door opened with a creak, announcing my presence.
No point for sneak attacks now, I thought.
As soon as I walked behind the large wooden door, the damp looking torches suddenly lit up.
I stiffened, clutching my sword tighter than ever, facing the most feared person ever known.
Herobrine's white eyes were glowing as he met my nervous gaze. He smirked and started clapping. "Finally," this voice sent shivers up my spine. "I was wondering when you will arrive."
I lifted my sword in response. "Eager to fight, I see," the former immortal spoke with a sinister smile on his face. "I will make you regret challenging me."
"What have you done with Rose?" I demanded, my hands shaking slightly, but Herobrine noticed it.
"Nothing much," his voice was thick with sarcasm. "I simply casted a spell on her."
Herobrine turned to look at Rose, who was trapped in a cage. She had fallen unconscious and a brown and red aura surrounded the necklace on her neck.
"You see," Herobrine began, walking closer to me. "The Crystal Necklace has chosen this girl to be its owner. In order for me to gain its power, I have to either convince her to lend it to me, or simply cast a spell that forces the Crystal Necklace to be mine. Unfortunately, your friend here, chose the hard way and gets to suffer for it."
"I will not let you take the Crystal Necklace," I said, positioning myself in a fighting stance. "I will not allow you to destroy this world."
Herobrine laughed. "How can you, a weak human, defeat someone as powerful as me? I may have lost my immortality, but I still have my other powers. Dying at my hands is inevitable."
"At least I will try," I retorted.
"So, you really want to fight?" Herobrine spoke as a glowing pickaxe appeared in his hand. "Then, bring it on."
I narrowed my eyes and charged.
