Part 2: Chapter 2- The Book

That incident disturbed me greatly. The more I think about it, the more suspicious of the incident I become.

No one would just kidnap Rose just for money... Plus no one would get hungry here. There's more to this than money.

I walked to the Kingdom's library. I remembered building it and putting down newly made bookshelves. Then many people from different places came and filled it with new and ancient books. Perhaps I could get some answers there.

I opened the door and slowly walked inside. It was well litted with torches and a couple of glowstone blocks.

The librarian's name was Swoop. I met him while building parts of the Kingdom and I had learned a lot from him.

"Welcome," Swoop's familiar voice comforted me. "May I ask what you are looking for?"

"Well... you see, today, Caron announced that Rose was missing," I began. "I found it... werid."

"So you are here for answers?" Swoop asked, walking towards me.

"Yes," I replied.

"Follow me," he said with a serious air.

I followed him to a hidden staircase. Swoop flipped a lever and the exit behind us closed.

He carried a torch as he led me down to the basement.

"The basement contains much questions and answers," he said, "for your case, this is the book you should read."

Swoop gave me a book titled, 'Unknown Secrets'.

It was old and dusty, and was locked by a strange lock.

"How do you open it?" I asked.

"Opening it is simple," Swoop replied. "You just need to be sincere and pure of heart."

Suddenly, a strange feeling washed over me. Guilt?

Touching the lock with trembling hands, I slowly tried to open it. It popped open easily and the strange feeling fadded away from me.

I looked at Swoop. He was looking at me with an expressionless face. "Go to page 36," he instructed.

I turned to page 36 and saw many words. I began to read it...

In this world, there is a special necklace. It was made out of a strange lightly coloured diamond, holding strange power. Not anyone could find it and wear it. By wearing it, the wearer can be powerful; moving mountains and increasing knowledge, or be unaware of its power, seemingly protecting it from power-hungry people.

It was known as The Crystal Necklace. After the War, no one found it to be its wearer. It remained so until one has finally found it.

I turned to Swoop. "So, Rose have that necklace? That's why?"

He nodded slightly. "Turn to page 13," he said.

Flipping the pages, I began to read the information on page 13.

The War is the deadiest war in the World of Forest. It showed a battle between players of light and of dark, fighting for peace and destruction respectively.

The ones who fought for peace were outnumbered; many have died to their enemies.

However, as the war progresses, thibgs were not getting better for the forces of good. A glitch, commonly known as Herobrine, joined the forces of evil.

The forces of good maintained their own; using newer tactics, but was no match for Herobrine's deadly spells and powers.

Luckily, a miracle seemed to happen. The forces of good begin winning. The forces of dark begin to lose, and became desperate.

They created a virus, much like Herobrine's, to get some of the people from the forces of good to join them.

However, the virus was only half effective. Only one was infected with it and the other viruses were destroyed.

After many moons, the ruler of Minecraftia, came to destroy Herobrine. He was known as Notch, famous for helping other worlds.

A battle between both began.

I stopped as I realised that the next page was torn.

"Herobrine wants the power from the Crystal Necklace to make him immortal again," Swoop explained. "After that battle, he lost his immortality and fleed somewhere far away. But he has returned. I'm sure you know what I mean."

"Wait," I said, getting the hint. "You want be to defeat Herobrine? Why?"

"Much is to tell, to learn," he sighed. "You and Rose were friends, you would want to help her, don't you?"

"Yes," I replied. "But based on this book, Herobrine is not someone to be messed around... and..."

"And you think that you will die if you tried," Swoop finished my sentence for me. "Search in your heart. Go back and think."

For my friend...? There's more to that.
