Part 1: Chapter 1- Decisions to be Made
"Hi!" I said to my friend, Kathy, as I sat down on as seat near her. "The celebration was amazing last night!" she commented excitedly. "I mean, I ate and danced until one of the guards have to escort me home!"
I rolled my eyes. "Really? I thought they only do defending stuff." Kathy sighed. "Okay, okay, my dad brought me home. He was rather cross with me and gave me such a funny look!"
I laughed and asked, "How is your crafting job doing? Still can't remember how to craft a daylight sensor?"
She pushed me playfully and replied, "I still can't remember. Anyways, how about your job? Still job hopping?"
I shook my head. "I stayed in the farming job and became one of the head workers two days ago."
"Congrats!" Kathy said cheerfully. "I heard that there is a new library here. Why we don't we check it out?"
I nodded and she sped off, leaving me to follow her.

"Here's the new library!" she said without looking tired at all. As for me, I was panting. "It... looks... cool..." I managed to say.
"Well, why are we standing here? Let's go in!" Kathy exclaimed eagerly. I somehow managed to drag myself inside.
I was awestruck by the amount of books it had. Bookshelves were neatly placed on top of each other, and to access the books that are higher, we could use a special ladder.
"Find a book and if you think it's interesting, you could share it with me and I will do the same," she said after a while.
After speaking, she immediately hopped onto the ladder and climbed all the way to the top.
I grumbled as I searched at the bottom of the shelves. I picked out a book called, 'The Kings of the Mobs'. I browsed through it quickly and put it back.
As I carefully put the book back, I saw an interesting looking book. It had a red leather cover with gold lines decorating it and had a lock on it.
I turned over the book and saw its description. "This book is about the history of the world of the Forests, revealing the secerts hidden by the eyes of The City," I read it out loud.
"What did you just say?" Kathy's voice almost scared me out of my wits. "I found this book, but it's locked," I said.
"Then you will have to put it down," she said in disappointment.
I grumbled and picked out another book. "This looks interesting," I said. "Let's compare books."
Kathy put her book on one of the tables. "This book talks about how to make all the crafting recipes!"
I rolled my eyes. Typical, I thought as I read out the title of the book I have chosen, "Legends and Myths."
"Cool!" she commented with a smile as the librarian called out to us, "The library closes in 15 minutes!"
"Let's go," I said, putting our books back to the library.

That night, I had a dream. Not the normal type of dream, it was a special one. In the dream, I felt... free. Free from work stress, having fun with people whose faces were blurred out, how I wish life was like that.
Suddenly, I remembered that people living in The City may go out to wilderness, but not many came back. People assumed they were dead or just gone.
Should I do it? I wondered. More importantly, is it worth risking my life for it?
