Shasta's Born and His Childhood

     Minecraftia 09/22/1255...

The scene is set seeing a guard running down an alleyway and stumbled upon Monk Giroldus, the King of Gline in Minecraftia, in the market district...

"Monk Giroldus, your Queen is in labor." The Guard shouted, while catching his breath. Monk Giroldus ran back to the castle as fast as he could, heading into the Royal Bedroom, "Honey, are you alright?" Giroldus asked, worrying about his wife's pain, Edelina looked up at her King/Husband and said "Yes, I'm alright. I'm in a little pain, that's all." Giroldus smiled, about an hour later... A baby boy is brought into the world of Minecraftia. "What should we call him, Dear?" Edelina asked Monk Giroldus pondered for a good minute before answering, "I think we should call him... Shasta." He replied, with a smile on his face.

Shasta's POV:

Ever since my fifth birthday, my dad started teaching me everything he knows about being a King of a large Kingdom. As a few years pass, I got into an interest in how to forge weapons and armor. I made a new friend when I helped the blacksmith. His name was Dave, he's into a large variety of combat. He mainly uses weapons that require you to use two hands. He taught me how to use some of the weapons the blacksmith forges. I loved using simple shortswords, war axes, and sometimes the mace.

Sadly, fun times always have to come to an end. Dave's parents had to move, so he had to choice but to leave. I was hurt for some time after he moved out.

I eventually volunteered to help out around a tailor shop, that happens to be a neighboring store next to the blacksmith. I tailored bed sheets, skirts, and clothes. I met another one of the tailor's assistants and one of them happens to be near my age, but I don't remember his name though. I remember that he's very nerdy teenager, he wears large glasses, he wears similar quality clothing I wear back in the castle, and he always briefs me on why I should evaluate on situations if I make a mistake, which is a bit boring for me.

He was very strict on how to tailor dresses and blouses. Besides all that, he was a fun person to be around. But... the same thing happened to him, he moved out just like Dave did.  I ten learned how to make food in a bakery. In order to manage my interests and my teachings from my father, I have to sneak out during the day when I don't have any royal lessons. Not long after I became a teenager, I helped out the blacksmith make weapons and armor, tailor cloth for clothes and beds, visited the mines and mined out ores with the miners.

I also enjoy going into the large Cathedral with the Knights Templar, praying with them. I befriended some of the Templars, they are super friendly towards me. After a while, word got around that I was helping out in the market. My father eventually caught wind of all the rumors, a couple of years after they first start spreading...

*scene change to the dinner table in my home*

Servants came in with large plates of food, such as steak, pork, baked potatoes, and some loaves of bread. "Bon appétit." A Servant says, taking a few steps backward.  Once all the servants left the dining room, my dad's friendly expression changes to his usual angry self. An awkward silence fills the room, a minute later, my dad breaks the silence, "Son, do want to explain why you always sneak out of the castle?" Dad calmly asks, "Well... You see..." I stammered. My mom and dad gave me a puzzled look, I let out a deep sigh and said, "I have an interest in making weapons and armor, practice Christianity with the Templars, and tailor new clothes and bed sheets." I confessed, taking a bite out of my steak.

"I see... It's very honorable that you have some great interests, but you are destined to be a king. Not to a smith or tailor." My dad replied, in an angry tone, "But Dad, would it be beneficial that I know some of these things? I can help out our o-" I spoke, "Enough!" Giroldus yells, "Honey, shouldn't you be prou-" My Mom Edelina began.

"For disobeying us? No, it's not acceptable!" My Dad snaps, "Yes, but you have to follow in my footsteps to be a King." He replied, being super serious with his decision, "What if I don't want to be King?" I screamed, "You don't have that option, we'll talk about this later. The Royal Ball is Tomorrow Night, you'll have to pick a Princess to marry." Dad shouted back, walking to his living quarters. "*groan* Yes, my King..." I mumbled, walking up to my room.

I have to marry some stranger?! Are you serious?!! That is not right, I shouldn't have to be put through this kind of stuff. My mom comes in and sees me pouting, "Shasta, what's on your mind?" my Mom asks, with a soothing voice. "I... I wish I'm not a prince. I have limited freedoms to do anything with my life." I replied with tears in my eyes, "Shhh... it's alright, you'll get used to it. This is the best for your Kingdom, if you don't step in for our kingdom, who will?" She asked, "I don't know, why not pick someone else to lead? I want to have my own life without having any rules against me doing what I enjoy to do?" I grumbled, "I know you have a lot of questions that want to be answered, but those are answers I don't have any answers to. You should rest, you have a big night to attend to." Mom said. "Alright..." I submitted, changing to my sleeping clothes.

I lay down in bed, tossing and turning for some time. I give up trying to sleep and just stare out the window, admiring the full moon that's sitting peacefully in the darkened sky. "Why am I a Royal King's son? Why can't I live another life, better than the one I have here?" I asked, staring at the moon for an answer. My eyes began to water and start crying myself to sleep.

The Next Morning...

I woke up the next Morning, feeling completely rested than I ever did in my life. I immediately jumped out of bed and started to plan what I'll need to take with me when I leave Gline for good. I pulled out my large crate(White Shulker Box) and put a lot of my belongings into it, such as my stored-away tools. Two Iron Pickaxes, One Iron Axe, An Iron Sword, and A Light Crossbow with a stack(64) of arrows. "Wait... I'll need some food to take with me." I whispered to myself.

A servant unexpectedly walked in on me. Out of panic, I quickly hid the box in my large wardrobe, "My pr- Oh! You're already awake." The Servant said out of obvious, "Yes, I am. Does my father need me?" I asked, "Not for right now. He wants to remind you that you need to get ready for the Royal Ball tonight." he informed, "Why didn't he show up himself?" I questioned, "He's quite busy, go change outfits and proceed your duties as a prince." The servant ordered.

He leaves and I let out a sigh out of anger and did what I was told. It sucks to be a Royal Prince, being a King is a lot worse. I sneak into the kitchen and grabbed a hand full of raw potatoes, a large loaf of bread, and a couple of carrots. I returned to my bedroom without being spotted by any guards or servants, I continue to pack my things successfully for when I head out on my own, I went over to the blacksmith to buy myself some armor to hide my identity.

Once I arrived, the smith was more than happy to see me, "Hello, Shasta. What can I do for you?" the smith asked, with a friendly tone of voice, "I'd like to purchase some cheap, yet sturdy armor." I requested, showing him some of the silver I earned, "Ah, you're in luck. I set one set of cheap hunter's armor for sale for twenty silver coins(iron nuggets)." he replied, pointing to a set of armor on an armor stand.

I paid the friendly smith the twenty silver coins he was asking for the outfit. I returned to my room and hid the new outfit in my wardrobe.

Now all I got to do is get ready for 'The Royal Ball'.

To be continued...
