The Defenders

Omar's POV:
-------------------

I opened my eyes slowly and got up, leaving the other two deep asleep. I wore my armor, got my equipment, and went out to gather some resources for the long trip.

I got food, wood, and some ores from a nearby cave. I took out the speaking paper and said "The Defenders. Best shortcut". The paper did the same as last time, showing me the path.

"*sigh* It'll take some time" I said to myself.

I rushed back home and broke opened the door. Mohammad and Hasan jumped out of bed and onto the floor. "Wake up, we're going on a...field trip" I said.

"A field trip? Yay!" Hasan exclaimed sprinting around the house "Right, I'm ready!" He exclaimed.

"That was fast" Mohammad said getting up.

I have some food. Eat, pack, and let's go" I said exiting the house.

***

Five minutes later, everyone was out of the house and ready for adventure. "So, where to?" Asked Hasan.

"I'll keep it as a surprise" I said.

I took out the paper and whispered so Hasan doesn't hear and nag "The Defenders. Best shortcut" I studied the map and hid the paper back.

"What was that!" Hasan shouted.

"You remember the paper you threw out of the house yesterday?" I asked him.

"Yeah" he replied.

"Turns out it's some kind of holographic map" I said.

"That'll come in handy" Mohammad said.

"Yeah, no kidding" I said.

We continued walking forward to reach the jungle.

***

Half an hour later, we were in the jungle trying to pass it during night time. As we were walking, we started hearing some strange sounds. I looked around cautiously to not get surprised by anything.

Then, out of the blue, a weird looking mob roared a raspy roar and dove towards us. "DUCK!" I yelled.

"Where!" Hasan exclaimed happily.

"No! I mean duck!" I said ducking.

Hasan looked at the diving creature and it bit his arm, taking him to the sky with it. "No! Hasan!" I yelled. Mohammad took out an axe and threw it at the weird mob.

Hasan held the axe and cut its head. It disappeared to clouds as Hasan started falling down. "AHHH! HELP!" He yelled.

"Hasan!" I shouted taking his attention.

I took out a fishing rod and threw it to him. He grabbed hold of a tree with it, and swinged around like spider-man, and finally jumped landing infront of us.

"Wow, that was one hell of a ride" he said breathing heavily.

"Glad you enjoyed it" I said.

Then, we heard another raspy roar and the same mob the captured Hasan dove down at us but with an entire flock behind it. "Oh come on!" I yelled running with the the two beside me.

Whenever a mob dives at you, it makes a sound of a rocket, so it was a warning to either duck, or slay it.

The problem is, whenever you kill one, another two join the party, so ducking was our best option. "Guys, to the cave!" I shouted pointing at a small opening in a mountain.

I threw and enderpearl towards it and held Mohammad and Hasan's shoulders before teleporting to it and into a wall.

I quickly blocked the entrance so the mobs don't enter and placed down torches, scaring away the darkness. I took out the paper and it was good. Phew I thought.

"*sigh* Now what?" Hasan asked.

"I...I don't...I don't know" I replied.

"So do we explore deeper," Hasan looked at a pathway in the cave "Or do we check on the mobs outside?" He asked looking at the wall I built.

"I don't know. Let's just sleep for now. Perhaps our luck will get better in the morning" I said lying down.

"Where were we going anyways?" Asked Hasan.

"To find The Defenders. Mira gave us that map. So I'm guessing she's one of them. The question is, why didn't she take us with her to them" I replied.

"Dude, a word of advise, don't let that girl stay on your mind and close to your heart long. You remember what happened to Samia and RJ" Mohammad said.

"I'll...I'll do my best" I said closing my eyes and falling in a deep sleep.
