Yip X Leona
I hate this.
The sound of water running.
It'll ruin me if I do it.
A click rings as a dryer flips on.
Why do I feel this way?
Pinks and purples and blacks and blues and red scatter the flooring.
I have to do it.
The snip of scissors cutting through something.
It's for my sake. My health.
Soft ribbon falls to the floor.
I'll have to hide
Is this the right thing?
I hope so.
"Leona!"
My eyes stared around the room blankly as 20 or so pairs of eyes stared at me. Glaring eyes. Bored eyes. Lost eyes. Tired eyes. Curious eyes. I saw them all, reading them like a book with font the size of a melon.
A book slapped onto my desk, sending a chilling snap around the room. Ms. Hyria glared at me and pushed her spectacles up her long, thin nose. She raised her chin, speaking, "Just what do you think you are doing?"
Being bored to death. I thought cheekily. I crossed my arms over my desk. "Listening to your Witchcraft lecture."
A few snickers bounced from student to student around the room as the hag in front of me looked like she would kill me. "Oh? Then would you be so kind as to tell me as to what active magic is?"
I felt several pairs of eyes bore into me as I stumbled over my words, "Er...I...uh..?"
The edge of Hyria's lips curled up in a smirk ever so slightly--thank Irene for being a werewolf. She walk over to her desk, heels clicking against the linoleum floor, and scribbled onto a slip of paper. She slapped it onto my desk and continued her lesson. I glanced at the sheet and frowned. Detention for disrespect and etc? Excuse me? What the heck does etc even mean in this situation?!
I groaned mentally. Today would be a long day, no doubt.
-------
"AUGH!"
Cold metal hit my back as I was shoved towards a locker, bruising my back for sure. I blinked in surprise, stunned by the girls that stood in front of me. Vibrant magenta hair and two brunettes. You'd think seniors wouldn't bully people in freshman year, but you'd be hella wrong. Ivy grimaced at the sight of me.
"Ew. Another werewolf girl. She looks worse than that potato, even if she isn't a werewolf." Ivy sneered. I snapped back into reality when I heard the word, "werewolf". This was what I was afraid of. People judging me for what I was, not who I was. I knew the ribbon and makeup couldn't hide it very well.
"Well with that putrid hair you're no better yourself." I narrowed my eyes and prepared to walk away before the paler brunette of the two shoved me back towards the wall. Ivy cracked her neck.
"Oh? Are you looking for a fight? Well come on then let's fight." She lunged at me as I just barely comprehended what she said and slide to the side as she flew into the lockers. Ivy let out a low growl and twisted around, swinging a shot towards my jaw and coming into contact. I tensed up at the pain. It was just pain, I've dealt with it at my old school anyways. It's just a feeling.
"Hey! Lay off her would ya?" A tan boy, about my age but much taller, ran over towards us and stuck his hands on his hips. He towered over Ivy and glared.
"You have no right to be bullying another person! Who do you think you are?" He questioned, crossing his arms over his chest. Ivy growled, getting angrier by the second.
"She's just werewolf scum! And who are you to be shoving your nose into our business you...." She then proceeded to insult his mother and him in a very vulgar manner.
"Oh yeah? Well, you're glue and I'm rubber. Whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you." Ivy's jaw dropped slightly before she shut it close and let out a 'hmp' before strutting off with her "friends".
I turned to the tan guy besides me. He stood much taller than me and had long, dark brown hair that covered his face in some spots. He gave me a goofy grin as if to say, "ya proud?" He looked...cute I guess?
Ack! I bit my lip and mentally slapped myself for thinking such a thing. He cleared his throat and spoke.
"What did those girls want from you?" He asked, tilting his head and making me die inside. I turned my gaze away so he couldn't see the heat creep across my face.
"Nothing really. It's just because I'm a werewolf." I paused at the word. I rarely used it, since it reminded me of my past experiences.
"Oh. Guess we got something in common then." He laughed. I whipped my head towards him in surprise. Where were his ears?
"What?" He asked.
"Where are your ears then?" I replied.
"Oh. It's a bit of a long story. It would take me like, 50 hours to tell it honestly." He chuckled.
Suddenly I remembered why I'd been in the locker rooms. I needed my math book for detention. I spun on my heel and prepared to walk away when his voice rang again.
"Hey! Where you going?"
"Detention." I groaned. To my surprise, he...smiled. He smiled. At me saying I had detention. I said detention and he smiled.
I should say I have detention more often then.
"Funny, I've got it too! Ah...Mr. Tony's class right?" I nodded at the name.
"Well, guess we can walk there together then! I'm Yip by the way. What's your name again?" Yip asked. Yip. I liked the way it sounded in my head.
"Leona." I smiled at him, the first time in awhile.
