Travis X Lucinda
"ACHOO!"
Lucinda sniffled for what felt like the hundredth time that day. She could already feel her nose getting sore from all the tissues.
Was she sick? No. She was just allergic to dust.
And of course, out of the couple of someone who was allergic to someone who didn't care, Lucinda was the one who was stuck cleaning the attic, not Travis. Of course she was. The magic one, who supposedly could just whip up a spell and BAM! Everything would be done.
Supposedly.
Lucinda figured it was her allergies getting in the way of her magic. Whenever she tried to cast a spell, she'd sneeze from the magic and everything would go haywire. Travis wasn't any help either. He was clumsy (no wonder he and Katelyn dated) and he simply didn't care if their attic got covered in dust.
Well, Lucinda certainly did. She wasn't going to let him get in the way of her problems.
"A-achoo!" Lucinda groaned as she sneezed once again. Maybe he won't get in the way, but this darn dust will. She thought.
As she shifted through the contents of their attic, she felt something like her hand. Lucinda ignored it, thinking it was just a pencil or something, yet when she moved her hand away she felt a sharp prick.
"AHH!" She hissed between clenched teeth. She examined her palm where a small bead of red liquid began to trickle down her wrist. She squinted at the wound, wondering if risking a spell was worth it. "Nah, it probably isn't."
Lucinda glanced back at the mysterious item that caused her to be wounded. Out of a box she pulled a small picture frame—so small it could put perfectly in her (good) palm. The glass across it was cracked, so it was no wonder what caused her injury. The picture inside, however, held two little people smiling with such happiness. A young blonde girl and white-haired boy.
"Luci! Give it back!" She stuck her tongue out at the boy chasing her, about the same height with eyes glistening with happiness behind the annoyance. "Catch me!"
The two giggled in sync as they chased each other across the field. Sunflowers flaky ends in the morning dew as the sun shone down from the clouds, giving its good-morning hellos to the world. A slight breeze blew, nice enough to send shivers down your spine without chilling you to the bone. The girl held a small sunflower within her blonde locks of hair as she ran across the flowery plains. In her palms was a small shoe, black and glossy that fit the feet of only the boy chasing her. The boy dashed after her, a single white lock of hair hanging between his eyes and constantly being whipped away as he ran—whether from the breeze or his own hands.
The boy managed to catch up to the girl, not tackling her as the gentleman he is but snatching his own garment back as the 7-year-old he was. The girl giggled, her lips forming a large smile across her shining face as the pair panted with fatigue of running. Tired out of their small legs and bodies, they sat down and hid themselves amongst the blooming golden flowers.
"I wish we could do this forever." The little girl exclaimed, happiness bursting from every direction. The boy smiled back as he whipped his obnoxious hair away.
"We could. We could get married and move away from here. We could be together forever." The boy spoke wistfully. The girl was oblivious to the truth in his words and laughed. "You sound like you're telling a silly fairytale."
"But would you? Would you marry me?" The boy asked, holding the girl's delicate hands in his own. Her large golden eyes widened at the sincerity in his voice. She was quiet for a few moments, before realizing her answer.
"Yes." Lucinda whispered. She sighed, a smile forming happily onto her lips. She'd kept her word.
As she moved the picture away, she squinted her eyes. A small thin item slipped out of the frame, falling into her other Palm. She winced at the contact. Peering further, she realized that a single sunflower petal sat in her palm.
"Lucinda! How are you doing?" Travis' voice called from below. Lucinda smiled, closing her eyes as she remembered another white-haired boy's voice echoing the same words.
"Just good honey! I found something you might like."
"What is it?"
"A fulfilled promise."
