Was this fun?

Yeah sure, it was a dare and I don't think she knows that I actually really like her, but this was not fun.

Panicking was not fun.

"Travis! Truth or dare?"

"Dare."

"Hmm... I dare you to ask Katelyn out."

So, the spluttered mess I am did ask her out, in a series of jumbled words and nervous gestures.

"Do you- uh- want to... go get d-d-dinner or see a m-movie?"

"If you're paying, okay."

So I'm paying- but that's okay.

Suddenly her door opens and she's standing there with a brown cardigan over a white shirt, and shorts.

"Oh hey Travis, you're here already," she acknowledges my presence this time, unlike all the other times I catcalled her.

I stare at her for a moment, her eyes look happy today.

"Uh, Travis?" She waves, and I snap back to reality.

"O-Oh yeah, s-s-sorry. Um, you look b-beautiful," I mutter the last bit, but her being Katelyn- hears it.

"What's this? No pet names? No trying to look at my butt?" She turns around, and I look away; my cheeks red.

"Who are you?" She turns back around and walks off her porch, and stares straight at me.

I just stare back.

"Ugh, let's go," she urges, and I nod slowly and then lead her to my car.

This date is not going to go well.

Katelyn jumps slightly beside me.

We're watching a horror movie, one Katelyn wanted to watch.

"Are you okay?" I asked, not a ounce of sarcasm in my voice.

She turns her head towards me and she nods, but her grip on the arm rests tell me otherwise.

I place my hand on hers, and her muscles tense up for a second before relaxing.

She doesn't get jumpscares for the rest of the movie.

And neither do I.

We eat a cheap dinner at a fast food restaurant near the cinema, and then we're walking back to the car.

"So, why did you ask me out again?" She's strolling beside me with her hands shoved into her pockets, her wispy baby blue hair being blown back by the wind.

"A truth or dare," I blushed, and she rolls her eyes.

"Oh. Well, okay then," she sighed, and I felt guilty.

And hopeful.

"You know, you're really different when you're not being cocky," she smiles slightly, and I shrug.

She lets out a small laugh.

"I thought you liked me, but I guess-"

I kissed her.

My arms around her waist and her head tilted slightly, I was kissing her.

And she was letting me.

Her lips tasted amazing.

They tasted like the universe.

The universe tasted of passion, flames and Katelyn the Firefist.

She pulled away first, but not too far.

We rested our foreheads against eachother.

"How did you manage to do this again?" She whispered, and I smiled.

"Truth or dare," I laughed softly, and she rolled her eyes.

"Truth or dare?" She asked, and I laughed and kissed her again; pulling away swiftly but our hands still linked.

"Dare," I smirked, and she laughed again.

She was happy.

I was happy.

"I dare you to kiss me," she stared at me- her tone playful.

"Dare accepted," I grinned, and pulled her to me.

I didn't know that a dare would give me the universe.
