Kenmur X Emmalyn

-SCHOOL AU-

------

Emmalyn took her book in her hands and threw it at the boy with the brown hair. It was a paperback so it probably didn't do much damage but it was thick one so it would still give him some pain in his head.

The boy turned around to looked at the blonde girl with a scowling face, yet she wasn't there. He shrugged it off and headed back to looking through the research books in the library.

Emmalyn had hated that boy from the very start of the school year. Too caught up in his books to even pay attention to anything, emotionless to everything but science. He didn't seem to have any social skills that could benefit in building relationships but hurt them.

What he did today was anything but forgivable, he decided to rip a page in her favorite book.

What she didn't know was that, that was an accident.

All he wanted to do was see what she was reading, she always seemed to be having so much fun with those books that all he wanted to do was read them. All that boy with the brown hair wanted to do was read.

Read something that wasn't full of logic.

Something.....fictional.

Well, he was reading too fast and his hold on the pages basically ripped the page out of the binding.

Although, Emmalyn didn't know that. She came back to her desk with her book missing a page in Kenmur's hands.

Immediately, she took it out of his hands and cradled her book while with a fury expression, spat at Kenmur with insults. Kenmur, unable to reply, turned away with a face colored red. He sat in the corner of the room, nose in his research book, contemplating what he could've said in return.

Now, Kenmur was in the library, looking through the research books trying to figure out how to communicate with people.

Kenmur had been a timid person from birth with nothing but books to comfort him. His parents weren't there all too much but when they were, they were working on some new invention or experiment.

Now, all he could do was tell everyone to buzz off even if he didn't want to, that the only way he could communicate with people.

It was time to put an end to that.

He put the book he was reading back in its place and adjusted his googles at the top of his head. Kenmur picked up the book that was thrown at him and looked up at the girl across the room pretending to be engrossed in her book.

The boy took a deep breath and walked over to the girl.

Blonde hair as golden as honey, a recessive trait.

Purple eyes, a VERY rare trait but not impossible.

Her parents must have been born with quite the array of recessive traits, Kenmur thought.

Kenmur took another deep breath as he approached the girl. He took another breath as he tapped her shoulder very gently.

Slowly, the girl faced him with those rare purple, no they were more of a dark magenta, eyes.

"Hello? Do you need something?" The girl asked in a not annoyed voice which Kenmur had never heard before.

Kenmur gripped the book close to his chest and hesitated for a moment. He gulped, trying to form a sentence.

"U-u-um...h-h-here's y-y-your b-book," he said placing the book on the table after scurrying back to his side of the library, tripping on his way there.

As he went back there, Emmalyn eyed him suspiciously then back at her returned book.

For the next couple of days, they followed that routine, Emmalyn throwing a book at him for something stupid he did that day. Kenmur swore he would apologize the next time he saw her in class but end up screwing up ultimately.

Still, Emmalyn took this as some form of an insult and threw another book at him again. He returned it once more, building on his sentence and eventually making small talk with her.

Sure, it wasn't the friendliest of conversations on her part but Kenmur didn't care. He was making progress.

On the fifth day, Kenmur thought he was ready enough to actually apologize to Emmalyn. On that day, Kenmur had bought the book that he had ripped a page from and placed it into his backpack.

When he got to his class with Emmalyn, the book in his bag started to weigh more than it did. His palms started to sweat as he started unzipping his bag trying to take out the book.

Yet he didn't have to.

Emmalyn had already come to his seat.

He looked up at her, seeing the glare of him in her black-rimmed glasses.

"Kenmur? Right?"

Kenmur slowly nodded his head.

She bowed her head to him. "I'm sorry for throwing those books at you for you being clumsy. I'm a jerk, I know. So, I would like to apologize for my actions."

He didn't answer, instead, he took the book out of his backpack and extended his hand to her.

"Apology accepted."

This was definitely the cutest one shot I think I've ever written so if you excuse me, I'm going to barf.
