3rd POV

Some people say that they stuck to someone until the end.

But... everyone knows that isn't possible, right?

"Right..." Garroth sighed, looking at the tombstone that says a name that had once made his heart flutter.

Aphmau. Aphmau Ro'meave.

"Haha... you said that you'd stick with me until the end, Aph." Garroth talked to his deceased wife. "But... where are you now?"

They both knew that he didn't have enough time. Lucinda had let the two of them get a glimpse of the future, just before she went back to her village. They thought it wouldn't hurt seeing what lies ahead of them both.

Yet, they were wrong.

Because now one of the pair was alone; heartbroken. And one of them were resting peacefully in the village of Phoenix Drop.

Garroth remembered what everyone had said about him after she left.

"He seems so... lonely."

"Heh, ya think?"

"I mean, of course he is... his wi-"

"Shh."

"He kind of reminds me of a tree in the winter time."

That was a month ago, when it had all happened.

And now...

"Garroth... what are you doing here?" Laurance said, startling his best friend.

"Visiting her... is that something I cannot do?"

"Yes, you can visit her." Laurance sighed. "But... you know she wouldn't want you to be like this."

"How would you know she wouldn't want me like this?" Tears formed in the blonde's eyes.

"Because we both know how she is. She wants everyone to be happy, always putting a smile on our faces. She's kind, loving, and would do anything for the people she care fo-"

"Do you not think I already know those things?" Garroth snapped, the salty liquid rolling down his tanned cheeks. "She was my everything... the one who would always forgive me for doing stupid things. Sometimes too naïve to see the truth." He smiled, despite the pain in his chest. "I-I miss her smile, her silky hair that always smelled of lavender."

"We all do, Garroth. But, she's not coming back... you need to understand this."

"Yes she wi-" Garroth was cut short from a painful slap across the cheek.

"Snap out of it, Garroth. And open your eyes while you are at it; because this is reality we are talking about, here. Once she's gone... she's gone. She can't come back."

He stayed silent.

"People come and go. Flowers may die, but others will grow... we both hate it, but this is the harsh truth."

Silence.

"I'll just leave you to your thoughts, then."

Now... he was alone.

And he believed that he was alone.

But, sometimes he can see her smile; gentle and bright.

Her voice soft and clear.

There are many things that he had learn, and there are lots he still don't know.

But one thing he know is that Aphmau is forever with him; always watching over him.

And Garroth is happy because of that.

The thing I question about this oneshot is this; is it really a Garroth X Aphmau oneshot.

It could be a Garroth X Laurance...

But, I'm sticking with it being Garmau.
