Garroth×Aphmau

Addicted to You

What can go wrong in a world where emotions are considered drugs?

Oh....well uh.....a lot probably.

Sometimes emotions are predicted by doctors, other times people sell items to illegally get an emotion. But sometimes, people would stumble upon emotions, not realising how much it was truly affecting them, and maybe hurting them.

The most powerful drug, was love.

It could make you insanely happy, or it could hurt you. Killing you from the inside out.

It was the most dangerous emotion to fall into addiction of. But two teenagers didn't take the risk into consideration, and threw caution to the wind.

This...is their story.

Aphmau Lorde was just an ordinary hollow shell, just like everybody else. She walked around in her world of grey, and didn't pay attention to everyone else.

One day, as she walked down the street, she bumped into a rathr....colourful person. His hair was golden, and his eyes were a hypnotizing oasis of blue. He wore unusually bright clothing, and seemed to glow in comparison to the grey world surrounding him.

Aphmau rubbed the back of her head.

"I'm so sorry, let me help you" his raspy voice was deep, and it was...enticing.

He helped Aphmau off the street, and she found herself lost in his gaze.

"It's okay" her emotionless voice, just like everyone else.

Why was he so colorful, when the rest of her world seemed to be the same shades everyday? How could she not have spotted him a mile away? Was he some type of...angel? That was a ridiculous assumption, angels don't exist. And if they did, they'd look like everyone else, but with wings...right?

"My name's Garroth, and you are?"

"Aphmau"

Garroth smiled brightly, and it blinded Aphmau for a short moment.

"Wanna grab a coffee?" He asked. Aphmau shrugged.

"Why not?"

They walked to the coffee house, and walked inside. They sat at a table near a window, and Aphmau watched as silent cars drove by.

"So...ever felt emotion?" He asked innocently. Aphmau looked over at him, not batting an eye.

"Nope, and I don't plan to. Why, someone dealing you bright colours and exotic foods?"

"No" he chuckled, "I'm just happy"

"Happy is dangerous"

"Happiness is one of the best things to happen to me"

Garroth got out of his seat and sat next to Aphmau.

"Let me show you" he insisted. Aphmau shook her head, and edged closer to the window. Garroth rolled his eyes playfully and lightly tickled her sides.

A fit of giggles erupted from Aphmau's lips, causing emotionless glares from everyone else.

And...for a moment....everything was colourful. She saw all sorts of blues and yellows, and bright greens and reds everywhere.

But it ended all too soon when Garroth stopped tickling. Her smile faded, and everything went back to grey.

"See? Wasn't that amazing! That's how I see the world everyday!"

Aphmau rose an eyebrow, she felt...weird.

Her heart was warmer than ever, and her hands were cold of nervousness. Her lips curved in a smile, and her feet tapped giddily.

"I want to see more!" Excitement and adrenaline ran through her veins, she grabbed Garroth's hands and felt his energy transfer to her.

Garroth chuckled and intertwined their fingers.

"Then follow me"

He dragged her out of the old cafe, and they ran down the streets. Together they weaved through trees in a forest, and only stopped at the edge of a cliff.

Aphmau looked out, she saw the ocean and the forest. A few lakes, and Phoenix Drop looked tiny.

But it was all grey.

Garroth lightly tickled her waist and another fit of laughter took over her.

The world splashed in colours, the ocean was as blue as Garroth's eyes, and the forest bloomed into various greens and browns. Phoenix Drop seemed to be alive, as the houses blossomed into many colours.

Aphmau gasped at the world around her.

It was like she lived in a bubble, and Garroth came along, popping it when he knocked her over.

Suddenly...her body was no longer doing what she told it to, and she wrapped her arms around Garroth.

He wrapped his arms around her waist and the two felt sparks running through their veins. So much energy and emotion, it was hard to control. Aphmau pulled her head back, grinning like a madman.

"Wanna try something new?" He asked, sitting on he edge of the cliff. Aphmau nodded and sat beside him.

"Of course!"

"Okay, now...this might be weird....but I saw my parents do it so....it's something people with emotions do...okay?"

"Your parents have emotions too?"

"Mostly my mom, but yes. My whole family does."

"Okay...so, what's this new thing?"

"U-um...close your eyes..." he instructed, his nerves running wild.

"Okay!" Aphmau eagerly closed her eyes, listening to Garroth.

"A-alright...like I-I said, th-this might be weird b-but trust me..."

"Alright"

Garroth cupped Aphmau's face, taking a deep breath. He leaned in, trying to imitate what he saw his parents do countless times. He gently tilted her head up a little, so she was facing him. He leaned down, their noses touching. By now he was feeling so anxious, he was debating pulling away.

What was he doing anyways? He had just met this girl today, and now he's going to do....the thing?

Garroth cleared his mind of the loose thoughts and brushed his lips against hers. Finally, their lips met. At first, Aphmau was shocked and confused.

Garroth took control, and Aphmau followed his lead.

Their lips moved slowly in sync, soon her arms were around his neck.

This emotion was new to Garroth, it was....very foreign.

He felt his heart pounding violently against his chest, and his face burned brighter than a thousand suns. His stomach did flip flops and his toes curled in his old shoes.

When they pulled away, Aphmau could see everything in vibrant colours, and this wasn't a temporary thing. A smile - no a grin - pulled at her lips.

"I like this emotion thing"

"Me too"
