Dante X Nicole

When Walls Talk

The girl with red scarlet hair stood in the centre of the room.

Her grey eyes were beginning to sting as tears dotted the corners of them.

She was standing in the room of whispers.

This room was a legend, and it was said to whisper everything you didn't want to hear. Every nightmare, regret, broken memories, you name it. If it broke your heart even a little, then the room would whisper it until the thoughts drive you mad, losing all sanity. This room was used as a torture weapon used against spies to try and worm information out of them.

There were countless deaths that laid in the cracks of the walls.

He moved on~

Nicole was locked in here, not allowed to leave. She had been captured by O'Khasis, and they wanted information. But she refused to let them know what they wanted.

Dmitri hates you for hiding his father~

She sat on the ground, but had to stand backup and start pacing. She tried to whistle or sing, or talk out loud to herself. She would do anything to distract herself from the demonic and venomous nightmares that crawled up her back.

He loves Kawaii~Chan~

She weaved her hands in her fiery red locks, pulling at her scalp and whispering positive words to counteract the whispers.

He's moved on~

Tears started to fall silently as she tried to yell her words that she hoped would contradict the stabbing words.

If you would have married Garroth, there would be no conflict between your villages~

She collapsed onto her knees, pulling hard at her scalp to try and hold onto her sanity.

You wouldn't be in this mess~

She let out a scream, hoping to be pitied, mercied, or killed.

Dmitri wouldn't exist, and you wouldn't have to see Dante's face daily~

She knew on the other side of the one way mirrors O'Khasis stood in crowds, cheering and enjoying a show. To see their rivaling lord weak, in pain, suffering.

You're pathetic~

She knew the crowd roared with every tear that rolled down her ash covered cheeks. Sick and twisted people, demented and insane.

Those bastards.....

She clutched her stomach, feeling ill and dizzy from everything.

Remember that night~

She squeezed her eyes closed, afraid and feeling like a helpless child.

Remember how he risked everything for you~

She let out a sob, regretting it all. The night her and Dante shared the special moment. The night she gave birth to his son. The night Dante sent her an invite to his wedding. Everything was one big bitter memory.

"Mom!" The familiar voice rang clear. She fell to the floor, covering her mouth and curling into the smallest possible ball. The hidden door slid open and a face was hovering over hers. And then two faces. And then the room she was in turned from her chamber of tortures, to her bedroom.

Dmitri looked down at her, worried and holding back tears.

Dante had the same expression.

She sat up and looked between the two.

"What"

"You were tossing and turning!"

"You oka, Nic?" Dante questioned. Nicole nodded and then Dante's smile became venomous, and Dmitri's eyes dimmed to almost nothing. His eyes rolled to the back of his head, and he dropped onto the ground, cold and emotionless. Dante got up and grabbed his real wife, placing his lips over hers, and making eye contact with Nicole the whole time.

She opened her eyes to see she was still in the room of whispering walls, and she was merely hallucinating.

An endless nightmare is a good way to describe said room. Every time you wake up, it turns out nothing was a dream. You have to face the reality of everything and all of your fears and nightmares surround you, darkness grips onto you, refusing to let go until you're nothing but a pained, emotionless, dark paradox with no desire to live, and see no meaning to anything.

He loves someone else~

Out of all her tortured thoughts, Dante was the worst. So much bottled regret and pent up emotions towards him. He was the reason she could barely look at her own son. He was the reason she left her home in Phoenix Drop. He was the reason she was in here at this moment. It was all his fault.

Realistically, it wasn't. But it seemed a lot easier to blame him for everything than for her to face the music and see all of her troubles as her own.

Your father is dead because of you~

If only she had stayed in ScalesWind, he wouldn't have died the way he did. She could've protected him. She wouldn't have learned of his death in a letter. a letter written by someone who probably didn't care about any of the words.

You hurt so many people~

She shakily set her hands on one of the walls, slowly moving to try and find a door to escape.

Running from your problems again~?

She gripped a doorknob, and wiggled it to try and open the obviously locked door. She busted the lock and kicked it open.

When she stepped out of the room, the crowds looked horrified. They ran away, not knowing if her sanity had snapped yet or not. Either way, they fled in fear of a massacre. She took one step, and it felt like her feet were blocks of cinder, hard to move. What she saw running towards her was the nightmare himself. He looked worried, and he reached out to catch her as she fainted.

"Dante..."

There! Done. Sorry if this wasn't all you had hoped for, but I thought it was a neat idea. Finally I've fallen into a schedule so maybe I'll actually do this one shot thing right. Anywhosies whatsies, it didn't seem like Dancole was done in awhile, so I decided "why not?". Now, I'm not entirely sure if I was posting today, or next week. Not gonna lie, my sense of time is waaaay off cause it's summer. But I'm like 90% sure I was supposed to.

I love you all from the bottom of my stone heart.
Byeeee
