"I don't like that name" the pup disagreed. "I think he likes it" the woman said 'wait what?!?! How could this woman, not hear, what he's saying?!?!' "He doesn't, can't you hear what he's saying?" I asked, starring at the woman strangely.
"All I hear is barking, are you okay?" She wondered after answering my question. "What's your name?" I asked' "Aphmau, yours?" Aphmau replied, "Soren." I said,
"So you can hear this pup talk?" Aphmau asks, looking at me with curiosity. "Yah, I was surprised when he first spoke." I answered.
"Well, I think caramel is cute, but what does your dog think." Aphmau offered, I tilted my head so I could see the pup. "What do you think?" I asked, he wagged his tail then answered "I love it, even though it's a girl name, I don't care."
"What did he say?!" Aphmau asked eagerly, "Caramel loves it." I replied, looking at Aphmau fan girling about how cute Caramel is, 'I have to agree that he's adorable.' I thought as I kept my cool.(that definitely was not a reference from a certain pony show.)
"What happened to his paw?" Aphmau asks, suddenly having a worried look on her face. "I don't know, what happened boy?" I continued her question to my newly named pet. "I escaped." Caramel replied, a million thoughts ran through my mind. "Escaped from what?" I asked, starring at him.
"From Meif'wa's, they took me from my family and injected some strange green goo into me, it was terrifying, one of them had purple hair and black ears and tail but that one was a baby. The last thing I remember from my family was my mama yell 'run, my pup, RUN!' and then I heard a pain filled yelp." Caramel said as he lowened his tail with sadness.
I looked at him in terror "What did he say?" Aphmau asked, She scared me so badly, I completely forgot she was here. "He said, that, he was taken away from his family, and hi-his mother's l-last words." I answered as I looked down, I could see my past flash before my eyes, Me and Vylad celebrating our birthday together, I just realized that, that will never happen again.
"Oh... Well, tell him that we're here for him, no matter what." Aphmau said, "Really, Hey Aphmau, where are you staying?" Caramel asks, looking at her interested for an answer. 'Wow, he already forgot that I can only hear him.'
"Caramel's asking you a question Aphmau." I said sternly, waiting for her to answer. "Oh, what is it cutie?" Aphmau asked bending down to his level. "He asked 'where are you staying.'" I said his question
"Oh, ummm..... I don't know, maybe, here." She replied, "I'm sure the librarian and I would get along just fine."

~the next day~

"Me and Emmalyn don't get along that well." Aphmau welcomed me as I walked up to her. "Well hello to you too." I tried to hint her on how well she greeted me so far. "Uh, hey, sorry it's just, it's just that me and Emmalyn's bond isn't just in a knot, more like, a tornado that just got hit by lightning."
"Ooo... That bad?" I asked knowing it was true. "No our friendship is rainbows and butterflies." Aphmau smile, "of course it is." Her smile turned upside down. "Well, I'm going to go out to the water villages, I'll be back tomorrow." Aphmau explained and walked away.
