Chapter 28
Persephone
I gazed on the night sky, with the moon moving across and the stars dotted the dark horizon. The night gave me chills, as I stepped on the snow that carpeted the ground. I let my feet sink through the snow as I watched Nev and Lion cuddle together as they sat beside each other a few trees away. They looked up to the starry sky whenever they please.
I then remembered that Lion woke up a few hours ago, with his blood pressure normal again, his mental state came alright, and his body mass normal again.
Then the sound of an Enderman teleporting broke the silence, and I knew full well that it was Ray.
"You don't have to sneak up on me, Ray," I told him. "I already know it's you."
"I wasn't going to," he replied as he went next to me.
"So," he began, "What are you doing here in the middle of nowhere?"
"I needed some time alone," I said, not taking my gaze off the stars.
"If that's the case... I'll just go now," he stated. My heart gave a little punch telling me that he should stay, and my arm stretched towards Ray, stopping him.
"You can stay with me if you want," I offered him, sounding as generously as possible.
"Alright, if that's how you want it."
He walked back over to me, his distance half a block away from me.
The fact that he still held my hand made my heart skip, not one, not two, but many beats. He turned towards me, then grabbed my other hand. And I knew that we held hands now... literally.
I couldn't resist. My mind shook entirely like an earthquake, and my heart rushed its heartbeat like a drilling machine. The warmth of Ray's hand touched mine, and I wonder if he has feelings for me... just like how I have feelings for him...
Maybe I'm just falling for the wrong person...
"Persephone..." he started reluctantly. I think I have an idea of where will this go...
"I-I-I--"
"You... what?" I asked him.
"I-I-I have feelings for you," he confessed. I obviously didn't know how to react. I stood there awkwardly.
Outside, I kept my calm, easy self who looked awkward. But inside, I wanted to scream that I felt the same way for him, that I wanted to touch and squeeze him... and to be with him for the rest of my lifetime (because forever doesn't exist tsk tsk tsk).
"I understand if you don't feel the same way for me, but I just wanted you to know that..." he trailed off as he turned away.
I broke the awkwardness, "Ray..."
He turned to me again, "What?"
"Ray, I-I-I also have feelings for you..." I hesitantly said, letting the awkwardness bury the two of us down.
He walked closer to me, "Y-you do?"
It's now or never...
"Y-yes..."
The awkwardness faded away as he pulled me closer, landing on his body, keeping no distance apart. Our faces, with just less than half a block apart, went closer as I felt so much warmth in me as we ignored the chills outside, the environment felt like it was fantasy, a dream come true.
Ray smiled at me, "Persephone."
I grinned back at him, "Yes?"
"I l--"
We then heard a loud "ouch". We turned around to see a man in his 20's lay down on the floor, his face buried in snow, apparently tripped.
"Oh," I muttered.
I, together with Ray, helped him up.
"Thanks," he said. I looked at him. He has purple eyes with black hair with bangs that covered his forehead, has a purple headset and white complexion, and he wore a black and purple bandanna around his neck, black coat with purple hems, has dark green shirt under the coat, and black pants and purple sneakers.
"Who are you, mates?" he asked with a British accent.
"I'm Ray, and this is Persephone," Ray introduced ourselves, pointing to me when he said "Persephone".
"Pleasure to meet you, mates!" he greeted cheerfully.
"What's your name?" I instantly asked.
"Oh, right," he commented. "I prefer to be called by my Project name, so just call me Newton."
So he is a Project...
"And what are you doing here?" Ray asked, his hands in an akimbo.
"I needed to get more fuel for our vehicle to go back to the North," Newton answered. "Do you have any redstone fuel?"
He then turned his head to me, then to Ray.
I opened my mouth to speak, but Ray interrupted me, "I think we should talk about it for a little bit. We'll be right back!"
Ray then grabbed my hand and pulled me behind a spruce tree.
"Do you think we should trust that guy?" he whispered.
"What made you ask that?"
"The way he looks at you, the way he speaks–"
"Dude. He's British."
"I know, but--"
"I can take care of myself Ray."
He sighed, "Well, if you say so..."
We then went back to Newton, who stood still as a rod and his eyes darting around to his cold surroundings.
"Well, Newton," Ray started, "I think I saw a gas station beside the road near this area."
"Thank you so much," he said. "Which way?"
Ray pointed to the east of our coordinates.
He nodded and rushed past the rustling foliage of coniferous spruce trees and into the horizon that stretched out of the Cold Taiga biome.
"Where was he heading again?" someone's voice echoes behind the line of trees. Judging from the voice, we instantly recognized the voice as Nev.
She walked out of the treeline and went close to us.
"He said something about the North," I stated. "Probably North Minecraftia," I added.
"Are you guys fine if we go with them?" Nev asked all of a sudden.
"What?!" I bursted out.
"Look; you may be crazy, but are you literally going to do that?" Ray argued.
"I mean, think about it!" Nev countered, "We did not see or receive news about Sir Blaise and his cozy little sanctuary. I think it's about time to go back and see how things are doing. I mean, the prison break mission back in Perlough was only supposed to take at least three hours. But the prison break took us to Heijokyo, and we have not received communiqué from Sir Blaise."
"Well, I can't argue with that," Ray said.
"Exactly."
"Now, now. Don't vow," yet another voice interrupted from the woods. It sounded raspy. Milarite.
"Huh?" I asked unsurely.
"I think that what she's trying to say is that going back to Sir Blaise is a really bad idea," another voice said. I recognized that it was Athaliah.
"What do you mean?" Nev questioned the two.
"Milarite, Jay, and I talked to someone named Newton," Athaliah began.
"And?"
"He said that they were trying to escape Sir Blaise," another voice joined. From the voice, I could recognize as Jay.
"I talked to him, and they wanted to escape Blaise's dim," Milarite told us .
"They?" I asked at the same time Nev said, "What do you mean by escaping Sir Blaise? He's nice."
"I thought he's nice as well," Athaliah stated, "But turns out that he works for the fascist government."
From my brain, I could already conclude what it means...
"Which means...?" I asked, just to make sure.
"That he's a traitor."

More revelations 😱😱😱
Plus yay for more characters.
I didn't update earlier cuz the chapter was so short in the morning. When I came back from a roleplay IRL (I did bad lmao 😂😂😂😂), I made this chapter longer.
But I still got to update on schedule, so yay!
Plus I have an idea of where this is going, so, I technically already planned the rest of the entire story out.
No spoilers tho 😉😉😉
No fun facts today
What will happen next? Who is this Newton guy? And what are his intentions? Will there be more Perseray? And what more will the government has in store? Will there be more revelations? And what was Sir Blaise's intentions and actions this entire time? Find out next time on Minecraft: Arctic Fox!
Thanks for reading! And please don't forget to vote, comment, and follow! All of those will be greatly appreciated!
