Persephone

I saw white light shine at me, triggering me to stand up. I tried, but felt some metal attached to my ankles.

I turned around and saw chains from the quartz wall run across the quartz floor and into my feet.

I looked around my environment. More quartz walls surrounded the three sides of the room. The side in front of me was made of cyan stained glass.

Athaliah was on the other side of the room, chained, and still laid down on the floor with her eyes closed.

I reached out for the stained glass, but the chains limited my range.

With my free hands, I reached my pockets, hoping to grab my weapons. But my hands felt nothing but air. I tried grabbing my katana from its sheathe, but it felt like it vanished.

"Where the Nether am I..." I muttered, and I hoped I could answer that question as soon as possible.

I heard a groan, and I saw movement from Athaliah. She tried to stand up, but she looked back and saw the chains attached to her...

"What the..." I could barely hear Athaliah mutter as she saw the chains. She turned her head and saw me.

"Persephone? Where are we?" She asked me, while she moved her legs. She kicked the chains off her, but the chains wouldn't even budge as it remained sturdy.

"That's the question I really wanted to answer," I answered, trying to stomp the chains in an effort to break out.

I crouched and gripped my hands on the metal. I pulled the metal, but it showed no signs of breaking apart.

Then we heard the sounds of pistons retracting. I turned and saw a hole (or door) open up, revealing a masked figure.

"Mhm... You guys are enjoying your time, aren't it?" the figure said.

I wanted to scream at him. Enjoying?! You can clearly see it, you idiot!

The figured walked into the light, so we could see what the figure looked like.

The figure was wearing gas mask, so we couldn't see his face. However, he wore a white lab coat, and a black pants and shoe.

"What do you want from us?" I asked menacingly.

"And where the Nether are we?" Athaliah added as she struggled.

"Whoa, whoa!" the man exclaimed, "Calm down."

I looked at him menacingly, "Tell us where are we first."

"I was getting into that."

"WHERE ARE WE?!" Athaliah snapped at him.

"Okay, okay! I'll tell you... Notch..."

The man took a deep breath. I waited for him to answer.

"Let's say you're underground, in a hidden lab... as you can clearly see..."

Athaliah snapped and grabbed his neck, "The exact place!"

"I'll... tell you... if you... put me... down..." the man barely managed to say.

Athaliah sighed and dropped him. The man caught his breath.

He stood up, then answered us, "We are under Heijokyo, in BukkiTech's Biotechnology section."

I paused in thought. I recalled BukkiTech. It was the second largest science facility, next to SpigoTech. And unlike SpigoTech, BukkiTech is government-owned.

It was my turn to ask him, "What do you want from us?"

"I, personally, don't have interest from you," he explained. "But the government wanted you, and only you two. And you know what happened next."

"And for what purpose?" Athaliah continued.

"That... I don't know. Not even myself or my colleagues could answer that. I am only a scientist in the Astrophysics section, and therefore have no interest in Biotechnology."

"And how could we trust you?" I tested him.

"I wasn't saying that you must trust me."

"But why are you here?" Athaliah interrogated. That's a good question, actually...

"Because you have been called."

"For what?" I replied.

"I don't know."

"What do you mean, you don't know?"

"I'm not one with the Biotechnology sector, okay? I was forced to call you guys, so I have no knowledge of what's actually happening. Ask the Biotechnology guys for that."

I sighed. There's no point in talking to this guy.

"If you don't have anymore questions, then follow me," he ordered.

"How are we supposed to go if we were chained?" Athaliah pointed out.

"You're unchained," he said simply.

I turned and sure enough; the chains are no longer attached to the wall.

"Oh," I muttered.

I followed the man outside the room through the hole. I saw the man press a button. I then saw pistons push the quartz back into its place, revealing as if there wasn't a hole at all. I'm going to assume that it was a piston door.

He led us through a hallway lined with more quartz with little decoration and buttons. Every five blocks, sea lanterns behind white stained glass appear in the ceiling. I also saw guards and scientists walk by.

"If I could give you a tour around the lab, I would have. But the guys in Biotechnology didn't let me, so..." the man shared.

"We wouldn't care anyway," I replied.

"That's rude of you," he commented.

"Exactly."

He sighed, "Whatever."

We then stopped at a doorway labeled, Biotechnology Sector

"We're here," the man simply commented.

"It's obvious, Captain Obvious," Athaliah replied sarcastically.

"I can see that," he rolled his eyes, "Now, please proceed without anymore delays."

I guess we don't really have a choice, do we? Our weapons are not in our inventory, so I guess there's nothing more than following the nerds' orders...

We passed by many scientists in uniforms. We walked past by two scientists talking.

"I heard we have captured two of A-classified Projects," the scientist on the left said.

"...wait, since when?!" the biologist on the right exclaimed.

"Since now."

A-classified Projects? What is this...?

I shook my thoughts off my head and kept on walking. Plants that rooted on quartz lined up our path.

The astrophysicist then stopped in front of a room with a solid door.

The man knocked on the door. It revealed a woman in a uniform.

She then turned to the astrophysicist, "Have you brought them here?"

The man nodded, "Yes, I did."

"Excellent. Now bring one of them here."

"Y-yes, ma'am."

The man then led Athaliah to the room. To be honest, I'm actually worried. I mean, BukkiTech is government-owned, and the government cannot be trusted, especially if they are after us Projects...

I listened to a conversation nearby, yawning.

"So, what are they going to do with them?"

"Simple; they just put something into their heads and become one of... you know..."

The conversation grew softer as the people moved away.

My mind tried to solve the puzzle. A-classified Projects, inject something into their heads, BukkiTech being controlled... As if...

Oh no...

On cue, I heard a loud, high-pitched scream echo from the room.

It wasn't just any scream...

Athaliah's scream...!

I bolted into the room, my eyes widening.

I saw Athaliah groaning in pain while breathing heavily on the floor as I saw shattered glass with glowing blue chemicals on the quartz floor. I saw three people. One was the astrophysicist who stood on the corner. The other was a biologist from what I can see, and the other was...

"Uh... Miss Uchiha, what are we going to do...?" the biologist said. "We injected the wrong chemical and we can't reverse its effects!"

The biologist turned to me.

"This is a classified operation. You do not dare--"

"Yes, I know. But what happened? What the Nether did you do?!" I snapped, staring at the biologist right in the eyes.

The woman/biologist gulped, "I accidentally injected the wrong chemical."

The woman, who was apparently Miss Uchiha, turned to me.

She sighed, "I'm gonna have a word with you."

Wow, what cliffhangers.

I just did that to Athaliah. I know I shouldn't, but I'm the author. I write anything I want lmao (sorry if i sound rude there)

Fun facts:

1. After I published Chapter 20, I realized that I have added a reference in Valentine's special. Hint: this happens on a server if you're not opped.

2. The baby dragon that Nev fought was actually a reference to Spyro the Dragon (raise your hand if you knew it), which I once played. At least one of Spyro games anyway.

3. I decided to make Athaliah and Persephone go missing for reasons I actually have planned.

4. I technically winged that last part.

5. BukkiTech is a counterpart of SpigoTech. BukkiTech is based on Bukkit, which, like Spigot, is a provider of server plugins.

6. BE WARNED EVERYONE! I'm going to do what I have never done in this series before, and it's going to be real soon now... Probably at March lmao

7. I originally was going to write this chapter on the rest of Team Olympus (Ray, Nev, Lion, Milarite, Jay, Storm, and Wei) (well, Wei isn't part of Team Olympus but eh), but it somehow got lost, so I have to start a new one, but...
