Persephone

We hid near an abandoned car parked in the sidewalk. It was not a lot of space, but this will do.

"Notch, they really need to clean this place up..." Nev muttered.

I totally agree.

Just then, Ray teleported in the middle of us. We went off-balance and he landed on Athaliah.

"Why me...?" She sighed as she pushed him off.

"What happened to the plan?!" Ray whisper-shouted.

"They almost got us. Then the city is already after us," I explained.

"Gg."

"Get down!" Nev ordered Ray as two policemen passed by. He immediately did.

"But how are we supposed to get out of here?"

"I am not backing down without a fight..." Athaliah glared at the police.

"Ray, our weapons...?" Nev asked.

"Oh yeah," he said as he grabbed our weapons and gave it to its respective owners.

I looked at the weapon he gave me, "My weapon is not a blaze rod as far as I remember."

"And mine's not icy daggers and katana," Storm told him.

"Just exchange weapons, duh," Lion told the duo.

"Okay," I replied as I gave Storm's rod and grabbed my daggers and katana.

"Now this'll do."

"So, Ray, wanna take this the hard way?" Nev told him.

"Wait, you're gonna do something very suspicious in this car?!" Lion grinned.

Nev punched him at the back of his head, "No, not that!"

"Okay, rude."

"If you mean, fighting, yes!" Ray answered.

"Okay. We gotta get out of this wretched city and head to the coordinates! And fight whoever stands in the way."

"I wouldn't say that this place isn't wretched," Jay commented, "In what direction anyway?"

"West."

"Okay, let's go," Nev exited the door and shot purple shards.

I shook my head and went out as well.

Am I the only one who thinks that this is a stupid idea?

I shook that off my head and started running westwards.

The gang then went west with their seperate ways. Nev flew, Ray teleported, I along with Jay decided to parkour, and the rest were running on the ground.

Wait, Jay can parkour too?!

I looked down to watch Storm, Leonardo, and...

...wait, where is Athaliah?!

I didn't have time to ponder about it as I heard helicopter blades approaching us.

I ran upstairs and reached the rooftop of the building. I leapt over the alley towards the other rooftop. I rolled my body to recoil the gravity.

I then looked ahead of me to see a taller building with windows.

I jumped again, crouched a bit as I went through the window with glass shattering to pieces. I ran through the hotel room as I heard slight thumping and scuffing.

What the Nether am I hearing...?

I went through the door and broke through the window again.

I expected to see another building.

But there were none.

I looked down and saw a busy park below. And I was 20 floors above the ground.

"I'm dead..." I muttered.

I closed my eyes as I approached the ground swiftly.

I felt something grab my arms and it felt very warm. Wait, what...?

I opened my eyes to see a phoenix carrying me.

"Sponsor Eagle...?"

The phoenix chuckled, "Yeah, it's me."

So that's what Athaliah was doing, after all.

I then heard helicopter blades roar from above.

"Not this again..." I heard the phoenix sigh, "Persephone, get ready."

"Wait, what?!"

Suddenly, I was lifted higher within seconds as I heard the phoenix crash on the helicopter.

"Mayday! Mayday! We're going down!"

"Wicked cool..." I commented, "Wait, where's Jay?"

"He's fine. I saw him parkouring by himself."

I viewed down to see the view of Perlough's skyline. I gasped, "Impressive..." Good thing I'm not altophobic.

I saw Nev flying. We flew past her.

"Hai."

"What the..." Nev muttered.

"How about we go down for a little bit?" The phoenix asked. I couldn't agree more.

I felt myself approach the ground while still being carried by the amazing phoenix. I watched the cars rush past us.

I saw Lion, Milarite, and Storm run along.

"Hi!"

"Holy Herobrine..." Storm gasped.

I then got lifted upwards by the phoenix and got a great view of the city's skyline.

* * * * *

Narrator

"Sir, we just received track of Project Afina."

"What is it?"

"She's currently in Perlough, but we received news that she's getting out of the city."

"Then get her! We should get our hands on her, ASAP!"

"Y-yes sir..."

* * * * *

The President watched the camera feed. He watched the Projects very carefully...

"One day, I'm gonna catch you guys..."

He then saw a phoenix fly.

"Wait... the phoenix seems familiar... Where have I seen it before...?"

Now it's time for Glitchy Fun Facts!

1. The idea for Athaliah tripping whilst running came from the fact that it is hard to run with heels. I mean, c'mon! Some people sprain their ankles with heels just by walking!

2. Chapter 9 was supposed to be different... And longer, for that matter. But I guess that the Chapter 9 I have will do... Plus it makes the story a little bit longer.

3. Storm's character was supposed to be the silent type. But most people who had characters in the story tended to be more... silent. And I needed more characters that actually talk. So that formed her character.

4. REFERENCES EVERYWHERE! See if you can spot them ;)
